Lol at the idea of comic characters having to adhere to some kind strict character traits. The ONE place where it is absolutely laughable to dismiss character changes is in comics where shit new versions of characters are born/killed/thrown through time/evolved/devolved constantly.

Cause Superman is so damn “hopeful” in the Injustice arc.

    For the umpteenth time...

You wanna do Injustice Supes? Fine. Red Son? Rad. Nuperman? Cool. Kingdom Come? Sure. Superman and Lois? Okay. For All Seasons? Into it. Pick a Kal, any Kal.

But doing a broody cunt of a Superman that the people are also supposed to adore for... reasons? No. You don't get to have your cake and eat it, too. Snyder's Superman flicks aren't shitty because Superman isn't a boy scout, they're shitty because they're poorly written, the character and people's reactions to him don't make a lick of sense. They're occasionally visually stunning (Snyder does this very well) tire fires.

I have a few scuff marks on my knife from the first time I used the stone. Well more than a few lol. Only way to get better is with practice!

The first knife I practiced on looks like I took aim at it with a sandblaster, it's terrible. The handle is kinda broken too, so it was a good beater to learn on.

This dude makes his own knives and I'm tempted to get a damascus (I'm apparently that guy) and a nakiri from him.

Thanks, I’m gonna order one of these I think. Just for the ease of Amazon returns.
I’ve got a sharpening stone, but the one time I tried to use it, I swear I scraped the flat of the blade. It was just on a smaller pocket knife, though, so no real loss. I need to look up some demonstration videos first, lol.

If you don’t have a really expensive knife, pull through sharpeners are fine. They got shit on and some are trash, but there are good ones out there.

if you have a stone? It can be helpful to use a sharpie or something to draw a thin line along the edge so when you’re sharpening you can be sure you’re getting all the edges and not going too crazy with the angles.

I'm seriously contemplating making an appointment with a psychiatrist just to get a prescription for something.

You absolutely should. I mean that in an supportive way, not in like a shitty one and I hope it didn’t come off like the latter.

I’ll hook some of you up with a million dollars each if I win the jackpot. Notice I said some and not all. If you got to think about it, you ain’t one.

    Pay my mortgage, you coward.

  6. I'm 42 and I cannot remember a time where the Republican line has not been, "government bad." So the well has been poisoned against about half of the country right there. And from high school on there have been guys like the South Park cunts who go out of their way to pop off about their particular brand of right wing libertarianism that paints both sides as equally unworthy. It's exhausting.

in a world where AA is not permitted and racial classifications for even diversity aren't allowed, all admissions should be based on merit through lottery. this would be far more equitable for racial minorities than the present

e.g. harvard requires a 4.0+ and 1580+ SAT or whatever. everyone who meets these criteria gets placed in a lottery and then the 2k freshmen are pulled from the lot. importantly no legacy or faculty/staff admissions, as this majorly skews towards whites. same for random state school but they want Y% residents of X state with a 3.5+ GPA and a 1400+ SAT, and Z% out of state with whatever qualifications. if meritocracy is what is needed (not that cons are actually for this, they want to entrench their own power and privilege) we need both to expand the availability of admissions through greater seats in the freshman class AND this lottery admission or something similar

failsons won't make the cut and don't get in because of daddys name, they have to work for it and hope they literally get the luck of the draw like everyone else

Unis aren’t going to put a kink in the firehouse that douses them with money. Lori Loughlins are so, so, so much more common than people assume.

There is insufficient information to make a firm conclusion on this. Admittedly, I am biased towards Cavill because at the end of the day, he did a great job and he’s a pcgamer and nerd like me along with some of the rumors of the set.

I agree the Superman movies he is leaving for will likely be crap.

Henry Cavill and I have a lot in common. We paint minis, build PCs and physically we are both... white :p

And I have always made the point that I don’t care if they steer away from the source material for tv as long as it’s good. However, I had read that they didn’t even want witcher signs in the show and Cavill made sure it was on there. I don’t know if that’s true, but that would be an example of them veering too far away from the source material.

I honestly go back and forth on stuff like signs. The characters and world feel true to the source material and that matters more than whether Geralt casts Igni or Hadouken. I think the show handles all of that very well... but I know what you're getting at. And even then, I don't know. A non-trivial amount of the most enduring parts of the LOTR movie adaptations aren't on the pages that inspired them. They're interpreted or invented.

In cases like this I think "straying from the source material" is a convenient excuse even if there is some truth in it. He's pulling the ripcord on what will, in all likelihood, be another shit ass interpretation of Superman, so... who knows.
