  1. Game Complete, got the evil ending I guess.  Probably gonna take a break for a bit before deciding if I want to do a new game, or start on PC with a new character.

Also, what do you lose with New Game+?  Do you keep all items, consumables, ect?  Just resets the world basically?  Want to make sure I don't lose anything before starting it.

Theres also an island just off the coast of Stormveil, that by the map looks to have some kind of ruins on it, and I have no idea if it is possible to get there. But knowing Miyazaki and his game design, it's not on the map for nothing.

You're not talking about the island directly west of Stormveil are you?

Talk about being a hyped-up boss. All my friends told me he was crazy difficult, but honestly, it was oversold. The journey to get to him was more difficult than the actual boss itself.

That being said, I love the whole aesthetic and he's a cool boss. Just underwhelming in terms of difficulty.

He was pretty difficult for me at the time.  It was a fun fight though that I thoroughly enjoyed.  I wasn't spec'd very well though as it was before my Malenia fight.

So, I only fought trump's wife once yesterday and now I'm just trying out different things in the fight to if one of my styles of fight is better than the others and I have encountered something I believe is 100% bullshit and should be changed with that fight. Like, I almost want to say it is a bug because I can't believe this would be allowed to happen. Like, it seems legit unfair to one particular playstyle.

And that playstyle is if you are a greatshield or even a regular shield user. Especially in NG+ I often turn to sword and board to just not bother with dodging and my first playthru has been going on so long that I've started to used this combo while casually going through a level. So, I wanted to try it on the boss first before I really started to beat the boss with my greatswords. And the boss has a mechanic where she heals when she hits you. This is where the bullshit comes in. Even if she is doing Zero damage to you through a shield she will still heal on hit. It doesn't matter if she does damage or not. As long as she hits you, she heals. To me, that completely invalidates a playstyle. Depending on RNG, she can totally out heal your damage because of her many long attack chains. I've gotten her to half health and she has healed to full because I just kept blocking and attacking with a spear. Seems outrageous. I don't believe it is fair for her to heal off of your 100% damage negated attacks.

Im largely axe and board, and had the same reaction.

Also hate that you take bleed damage buildup when you 100% block an attack throughout the rest of the game.

  5. I'm like 150+ hours in I think at this point.

I played every Souls game starting mid January to the week before this dropped, (finished Sekiro).

The fact I still don't really want the game to end after all of that, is a testament to just how well designed and made the game is.  Just about every other open world game, I hit a point where I just focus main story to finish the game as quick as possible.

Still believe this is the best game I've ever played.

I'm 150 going into Trump's wife as well.

I read that some other weapons prob would make it much easier.  I never have used Bloodhounds Sword so not sure just how much better it is.  I probably should have tried it.

It wasn't nearly as bad with the Mimic, but still felt like a lot of the fight was just luck.  You just pray she doesn't use certain abilities and moves.

I think they are valid wants and wouldn't hurt the type of game Elden Ring is. At the very least it would be a great way to inform the player when a quest is over. There is at least one quest that seems to have many stopping points.

Anyway, NPC on the map is a great addition. Especially, with quests were you can miss optional lore text because you have no clue where they went.

I generally agree.  It seemed to be showing me NPC's I hadn't previously interacted with, which I'm not sure I'd agree with putting on the map.  But they might be characters I saw a long time ago that I forgot about.

Since every one says she is so hard an punishes people who use heavy weapons, I'm going to try and one shot Trump's wife tonight. Without a summon of course.

Just attempted her.  Decided to come back after I either respec to be an actual efficient build, or I level up some more.  Not sure what other content I have left though.

  9. Just spent 2 hours on Mohg, damn that was a bitch and by far my longest boss fight.  Had 37 Vigor going into it, and felt like I had to be damn near perfect the whole fight.  The 2nd phase took me awhile to get used to, and still so many time's the smallest mistake threw the whole attempt.

I finally got him though, and damn did that feel good.  Still need to spend time in that region though as I mostly sped through it on my horse.  That place seems like it's going to be dreadful to navigate with some of those enemy types around.

At the end of your spoiler, that’s the recommended amount of HP to get to for the end game?

I was running like 900-1000 HP at 30 Vigor for a lot of these later game areas, and just about every enemy was 2 shotting me, with bosses having like 80% of their move set 1 shotting me.

I'm at 35 vigor now at around 1200ish I think and it's helping,  I'll prob pump it up to 40.  Boss fights were still doable, but you basically need to be damn near perfect on dodges and blocks, and heal immediately after each tick of any damage as you are guaranteed to be die at 2 shots by just about everything.

Honestly, anyone who has less than 100 hours in this game who has claimed to have beaten it, either hasn't properly explored or absolutely used a guide, cheating themselves out of an amazing experience.

I saw someone on Twitter say they finished the game at Lvl 163, got 1000/1000 Xbox Achievements, in 66 hours, without using any of those crazy Soul farming areas, and didn't use a Guide until he finished the full game and just used it to get the few things he missed.

I'm like 130 hours in I think and Lvl 135.  I don't think it's possible to get 163 in 66 hours without some crazy Soul farming areas for a decent amount of time.

  12. Game is still easily a 10/10 for me.  I'm playing on Series X and while I've noticed frame drops, especially more so in some late game areas, it hasn't been enough to affect my enjoyment of the game, and I don't think I'd knock a game for simple performance issues unless it's egregious.  Bug are a different story, but I've experienced almost no bugs at all in my 130+ hours with the game, which is quite a feat when you compare it to most open world games.

Balance and difficulty I've shared my thoughts on.  You can make the game as easy or hard as you want, that's on us the players.  If you skip most side content and stick with story, the game will always be difficult.  If you do all side content and over level, it'll be easier.  If you use the best weapons, summons, spells, it'll be easier.  It's all choices us as players make, they gave us a sandbox of sorts to dictate our own experience.

And I haven't felt any time has been wasted really because everything I've done has been by choice.  Am I facing a really tough boss I've died to 30 times for an hour, but I'm too stubborn to move on and go level up more or do other stuff and come back, that's on me.  Thus far I've been pretty keen on moving on if I'm stuck at a boss too long and it's obvious I'm not making progress.  Most boss fights haven't taken me more than 20 minutes worth of attempts.

I must be in the last stretch of the game, and while my build I know is making the game harder than it probably should be, running 30 vigor/30 endurance/45 strength as a pure melee build in the late game areas, I'm loving the challenge of it all, so I haven't used a respec yet. I may need to soon as the spikes toward the end are definitely unforgiving and losing 100k+ runes repeatedly hurts my heart.

Not totally sure I'll do a New Game+ when I finish, I bought it on PC too and my try to run a Wretch build on there cause I have a few friends on PC I may want to PvP with later on.
