Earlier this week, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley arrived at training camp and read a statement claiming he isn’t anti-vax, he’s just pro-choice.

@BuckFly please let me know if this is charting in Buffalo

Manny, I make jokes about it on the Bills Boards because it spirals downward so quickly whenever the topic comes up.  This is amongst fans, mind you, with a common interest.

I don’t have a problem with what he says, and I don’t have a problem with those that disagree with him.  I’m vaccinated by the way, as is my wife and my daughter had covid…how we didn’t get it since it was pre vac I have no idea because we didn’t change a thing in our house during quarantine and I have comorbidities coming out the wahzoo…I was face to face with my young daughter for hours on end and even in the same bed together to watch tv and play games at night.

My issue is how mad it makes everybody on both sides.

This whole topic.  This whole thing is boring and tired.

You want to get vaccinated, then get the jab.  You don’t, then that’s on you.  If you are at risk it’s likely you should do it.  If it is something you are not worried about, even if you get sick and you are not worried about the effects, that is your decision.   This whole staring at the pot on a daily basis waiting for it to boil is a waste of time and energy.

“Nobody should get the jab!”    Shut the f*** up and go about your day.

”Everybody should get the jab!”  Shut the f*** up and go about your day.

If you don’t feel comfortable, either from a personal health stand point or a personal liberty stand point I couldn’t really care less so get out of my face, both of you.

You do you, I’ll do me.

    BINGO!

Her particular sport -- more so than most others -- ABSOLUTELY REQUIRES that an athlete be in the right psychological state to perform otherwise a mistake could result in serious physical injury.

Perform a vault if your head ain't in the game?  To hell with that!

But to be clear, if anyone goes and quits at bowling you can go f*** yourself.

    ;)

EDIT:  See, Wade gets it was a joke.  However, I absolutely expect someone to roll in with, "You try and deal with a 7-10 split and keep your sanity, moron!"

IF so, I am sorry as one person's genial past time might be another person's manifesto writing worthy reason for living and I don't want to unpack that baggage anywhere near where I live.

...and for the record I live in an undisclosed location somewhere in the Northeast.

Alright, Dan, you've earned yourself one "pass" from me.

Yeah, as part of that rarified political prospective around these parts put me in that camp.

From the moment I found out why she pulled out my opinion hasn't changed:  She is a champion who doesn't have to answer to anybody but herself.  She has nothing left to prove.  Furthermore, if I am not in the right frame of mind at work I get a papercut.  If SHE isn't she could die.

Makes no difference whether the crisis of confidence was yesterday or two weeks ago.  When it happens...heed it.

That said, I would felt the same even if it wasn't Simone.

There is practically no case whatsoever without his waiver of his Fifth Amendment rights.  He simply wouldn't have testified and self-incriminated at all if he wasn't granted the immunity so the entirety of the conviction rests on essentially coerced testimony.

So, in a nut shell..."HEY, HEY, HEY, special drinks are coming girls' way!"

Do I think he should be behind bars?  Yes.

Based on the above, do I think this is the right decision?  Yes.

But I am like that.  Regardless of using the city where I come from as a crutch I was OK with the OJ decision (I was in my 20s then).

I absolutely think he did it, but I absolutely could understand jurors finding "reasonable doubt".

  5. 1 hour ago, Commissar SFLUFAN said:

Even if the original DA had no unilateral statutory authority to make the immunity deal without the consent of a judge (a deal that the subsequent DA reneged upon), Cosby and his legal team reasonably relied on that assurance to waive his Fifth Amendment rights.  It was this waiver that led to the self-incrimination that resulted in his conviction.  The immunity deal existed in a "de facto" sense if not an explicitly "de jure" one due to the lack of statutory authority on the part of the DA to make the deal.

The PA Supreme Court appears to have taken the "least harm" route in its decision by recognizing the existence of the immunity deal despite its apparent statutory exclusion.

Yeah, Wade.  This is what I was going to say, too.

I believe it is even stated as much above in the PASC's decision that regardless of what his attorneys should or should not have known on the matter ("(and in some instances upon the advice of counsel)").  He surrendered his 5th Amendment rights based upon a misunderstanding in the chain.

The Raiders lineman says it’s about time that he came out as gay.

The best thing that I think can happen with Nassib coming forward is it will hopefully start a chain reaction of other athletes coming out and not having to live their lives in the shadows.

However, it is also up to the players, in all the leagues to make this work.  All the leagues were social justice conscious in the last few years which, whatever anyone’s position on sports and social issues, I personally would not deny them the right to be so.

...now, though, the rubber meets the road and THEY have to prove that wasn’t just posturing. It will be a very bad look and very bad for the future of all professional spots if Carl is prejudiced against by his colleagues.

Here is a person sharing their family’s personal experience with a death of a child post second dose of the Covid vaccine. There are some fairly consistent bits in all the stories, but seems very rare. Hopefully they can figure out better treatment for the kids who do have this adverse reaction much like they did with the blood clotting issue.

SB my daughter is under 7 years old and had COVID.

I will fight any insinuation or insistence that she get vaccinated, especially in the wake of time, study, and the mere fact that since somebody left office science seems to have become just a little bit more scientific.

I am vaccinated.  My wife is vaccinated.  Our daughter had it.  That's our home.  I'm done.

He is so deceptive that I have never heard of him lol

Was averaging about 200 yards a game this last year, including 400 plus against Kent State where he tied the collegiate rushing TD record (8), and was 18 yards short of the single game rushing record and coach Leipold sat him because...he had no idea what the record was or how close he was to it.  The Bulls had another 3 possessions in the game.

Injured in the MAC championship game (intentionally if you watch the video which I can't link to). Finished as the MAC Offensive Player of the year.  6 games, 1,072 yards, 7.6 yards per carry, 19 touchdowns.  3,884 rushing yards in his career, 6.1 yards per carry, 52 rushing tds in 33 gams.

UB was 16-5 his last two seasons, with back to back bowl victories and a first time ever season finish in the AP Top 25.

    $240 million career earnings.

I believe, but don't quote me on it, he may only trail Eli Manning who I believe retired with 252 Million in his career.

EDIT:  It was Manning at 252, but Brady (262) eclipsed him this last season.

I think it's actually worse.  Griese had some decent years.  Plummer had some good years.  Even Orton and Cutler were mostly better than what they've had the last 5 years or so.

In the first round, I will guess a Safety or a LB (if one of the top CBs drops, then perhaps a CB).  We could also use some help with an Offensive tackle or guard, and wide receiver depth.

Again, I trust Beane and the front office.  What we need is a TE, CB or Edge Rusher, but I am not losing sleep over who is going to be there at 30.

If they go down further for the sake of extra picks and planning for the future, then fine.

    @Biggie

Biggie what. is. the deal with the talk always coming up about Julio?

Is it the Falcons, him or both of them?

I like Bridgewater in Denver too.  Not as much as I liked Drew Lock last year though.

Absolut, I haven't been paying attention lately.  What are you guys looking or hoping for?

I am indifferent for the Bills.  I trust Beane at 30 or wherever they end up picking.

Chiefs are just too damn good and Allen was not playing as well in the post season as he was in the regular. He is getting an attitude problem too when he gets frustrated and is starting to bitch like Brady does without the 6 rings to back it up, Mcdermott needs to rein that in.

I very respectfully disagree on the Allen thing, elbobo.

Two things in this game...one, as good as they are the regular season seems to be a waste of time for the Chiefs.  They are only really interested when it comes this time of year.  They were great.  Two, easy recipe to beat the Bills right now: have a consistent pass rush and rely on the fact that they don't have a running game and that their Oline is overrated...Oh, and did I mention that they are severely lacking in a pass rush?

Great season, though.  Got us through January.

I like how a lot of people's reaction was, "There was no way he wasn't going to play" but really it's not up to the person on how their body heals. Is it worth risking your career to make it to another super bowl by turning your brain to mush or sit out till you're ready and live to see another day?

I agree, but I should clarify my position: I honestly believe that he was concussed, but that he was not going to have residual effects a week later.  Additionally he was “out of it” when he got up, but after the game we discovered his bell really wasn’t rung that badly.  I didn’t think he was coming back in the game, but I thought he would be fine for the following week.

  14. 5 minutes ago, AbsolutSurgen said:

I have given no credence to his concussion, even from the moment he stood up from the hit. He was always going to be playing in the AFC Championship.

I think the toe was always a bigger issue, but that may no longer be an issue, either.

The concussion has all been just so much talk since Sunday.

I'm just cised that I get to watch the Caps opener tonight.  We don't get all their games up here so I dig when I get a chance to watch.  Kind of worried about our goalie situation though...hope these guys live up to expectations.

weirdly the caps opener, and follower, were less fun for me.

IMHO, the 5 best teams in football right now are the Chiefs, Bills, Saints, Bucs and Packers.  Chiefs beat the Bills/Saints/Bucs this year.  I'm not sure what a "scary" team looks like but...  Chiefs had one of the hardest schedules in football, and only lost one competitive game all year (and probably should have won that one too).  They look hard to beat.

Funny thing is I kept hearing from the national talking heads this past week that Baltimore was “scary”.

My heart wants the Browns to win this week.  But, there is a very good reason that the Chiefs are 10 point favourites.

I also want the Bills to win next week....  But...

KC are the defending world champions and may be again this year. As well they have the best player in the nfl and they are worthy of respect.

...but I am just not afraid of them, and nobody should be, including the browns. I just don’t think they are that scary, or at least haven’t been for some time.

As for your Hockey topic, wish I could participate but I haven't watched a lick of hockey and I really only watched the Stanley Cup last year.

Slightly disappointed you didn't use the hockey prefix when you made the topic though. It would be the only one on the board!

You want m to use prefixes?

I can't stop my Betamax from flashing "12:00", but you want me to do that technological yoga?!

I will try and fix if I can, later.
