I love when you wake up and your neck is fucked up so badly you can only turn it to one side.

A few months ago I was in bed one night reading.  I had propped two pillows on top of each other temporarily to read. I fell asleep and I guess slid downward as a few hours past. I woke up around 2:30am almost screaming out in pain. Had the worst neck pain of my life and was scared I caused legit damage.  Took over a month to go away completely.

This is the shit that gets me. There just aren’t a lot of leaves here so it’s just blowing nothing. It’s making the noise and polluting the air just for the sake of it.

My neighbor pays to have their yard cut every week. They don’t get the grass bagged but they also don’t want clunks of grass. So the landscaper walks around the yard with the backpack blower on and blows the entire yard.

And I always lose my mind at how often these idiot gardeners are blasting the things at completely empty sidewalks.

Ok that I will definitely agree with. There is a mall in my area with a sidewalk way out along the road. When I drive by in the morning in the summer there is barely anything there and the guy has the blower at full throttle just walking along, probably at least a 1/4 mile stretch. Just blasting away.

  4. Today started out as a beautiful day here in PA aside from the high winds…..and we lost power shortly after lunch :(  The outage map shows only my neighborhood without power. Which is kind of a plus because everything around us is fine and open. The estimate time for a fix said Monday by 11pm but now it’s been updated to Tuesday by 11pm. PA got hit hard with wind I guess.

The outage map didn’t seem that bad until I zoomed out

My dad had an extra generator so he dropped it off. We’re able to cycle the fridges and freezers on and use appliances when needed. Fortunately the sunroom at the back of the house has a gas heater on the wall otherwise I’d be going to a hotel.  It will keep some of the other rooms livable. The rest of the week is supposed to be in the 30’s during the day and teens at night.

  5. @CastlevaniaNut18 I wish you and your husband the best. It definitely feels like a learning experience of when to keep putting in effort, and knowing when to draw the line and move on.

I was fortunate enough to have an easy childhood. Seemed to be a perfect loving family. It was only when I got older I realized how broken people are, even my own parents. You never think a wedge is going to come between people so strongly. Sometimes for such petty or unexplainable reasons.  The grandma next to me is my mom’s mother.  With everything that has gone on over the last couple years leading up to this, they’ve never really been on my side. They always seem to maintain a neutral spot to not upset anyone.  To put it bluntly, I’m pretty sure they just want to stay on her good side to stay in the will.  My grandma is crazy enough to use that as leverage. Not sure why else you wouldn’t stand up for your own child (me) when your own mother is saying and doing horrible things. I don’t know. Just makes me see them in a different light. Going forward I’m using it as the example of how NOT to be with my kids. If my mom gets wacky in old age, I’ll be taking my children’s side.

No I haven’t. But your Grandma sounds like a lovely person.

Years ago my grandma woke up to find that during the night, someone used sidewalk chalk and wrote inappropriate words on her driveway. Our kids played with sidewalk chalk at the time so she immediately accused my wife of doing it and called the police lol.  Turned out to be the teenager living across the street who had a friend spend the night. He admitted it, we all laughed about it. We told her that and she never believed it. We stopped talking for about 3 months that time but I got sucked back in. Never again.

  7. How did it go? Did it create any new problems or drama for you with other family members?  Did it affect you mentally?

Tried to make my story as brief as possible but still provide details:

I’ve been dealing with a problematic grandmother for years and a few months ago, the dam finally broke and I couldn’t take it anymore. Now that she’s in her 80’s, she is an extremely bitter old woman. Definitely has some hint of dementia or something. Whatever makes you distrust everyone, make up lies constantly, always be the victim, etc.

About 12 years ago, my grandmother’s neighbor wanted to move and sell their house asap to be closer to family. I got my foot in the door and bought the house. Perfect because it was affordable at the time and I could help out my g-ma anytime. She’s an old lady who was born Germany, i think 1942. Her family definitely had fears during the war with bombings and such. I think she came to America in her early 20’s.

Back to now, she’s never liked my wife. Never seemed to have a good reason or any reason for that matter. For years I’ve dealt with little spats between her and my wife, always over dumb things. Still always ended up getting together on holidays and everybody put on a fake smile because “we are family”.  Months leading up to September 2023 it all finally peaked. My aunt and cousin suddenly want nothing to do with me and I’m clueless.  Who knows what was said.  We found out she told at least 4 people that my wife is bipolar and won’t get treatment. Zero truth to it. We both confronted her about it face to face and she just lies.  Puts on the most convincing face and just lies right to you.  “She knew nothing about that. She would never say that”.

After that we were done. We told my parents we will never get together when my g-ma or aunt and cousin are up anymore. We will have our own small get together for the holidays with my parents.

It’s been very freeing to cut ties (even though she literally lives next door). I see her stumbling around outside from time to time but that’s the extent. My wife and I are both feeling a lot less stress in our lives and I’m wishing I would have made the choice sooner. I have listened to this lady for years just speak ill of anyone around her like neighbors and friends. I failed to realized she was talking the same about my wife and I the whole time.

First thing I always do is filter it to just full PS5 games then sort by best selling. It’s still a glitchy mess, but that helps to cut out a lot of the bloat.

I wish there was an option to group the game with all its dlc and add ons together into one icon. Scrolling down and I have to see 10 pieces of dlc for Dead by Daylight. Or another 10 fighters for Dragonball Z.  It has to be worse for sales this way. You’d think they would want you to see all the games. Not give up 2 minutes in.

  9. More of a rant but here goes. Years ago the PlayStation Store used to have an occasional sale, now it’s basically every week. That’s fine but I really wish they could find a better way to display it all. They cram so much stuff into a giant list of icons.  It scrolls down pretty fast on the PS5 if you hold the down arrow.  I timed it just now and it takes 58 seconds to scroll from top to bottom. The icons are flying by and it still takes that long. Funny thing, I scrolled all the way down, went back up a few rows to see what cheap garbage games there were. Found one called Boaty Tanks, clicked on it, watched some gameplay (looked horrible), backed out and my PS5 crashed with an error code(CE-108262-9). Just feels weird a company as big as Sony can’t figure something better out.

  10. I would definitely leave. If i am at a place where people are clearly sick but are stuck working, I don’t blame them, but I’m out. I don’t need that shit.  Almost every time I get a cold it turns into a month long ordeal.  A week of sneezing/runny nose. Then the sore throat for a day or two. Then it goes right to my chest and for the next two weeks I’m coughing. No thanks.

  11. From google:

“Both Microsoft and Xbox gift cards and download codes work in the same way: once redeemed to your Microsoft account, you can spend your balance at Microsoft Store online, on Windows or Xbox, and you can get downlaods for the latest apps, games, movies, TV shows, and Surface, Xbox, and accessories.”

Maybe check out the Microsoft online store and see if there is anything interesting there? I never really looked. Maybe they have cool headsets or something.

  12. You guys watching the Chiefs game? I’m not a fan of either team but it’s been interesting. Chiefs missed an easy 3 pt field goal, a few passes that go to nobody, one dudes helmet flew off and he got slightly kicked in the head. They quickly showed him going to sit on a table on the sideline and the table collapsed. Definitely not their day.

I gave my PSVR1 away to my nephew. The amount of things needed to be hooked up to get that thing working was laughable.

The new one is much better but isn't selling well at all.

I ended up looking at my psvr stuff shortly after posting and it seems like one of my move controllers is dead. Not holding any charge. I thought maybe I’d hook everything up but I’ll charge the controllers first. Think I’ll just put everything back in the drawer haha.
