Apparently there was a double murder with another person seriously wounded in my hometown of 1900 people. Yikes.

Feels weird when it’s so close to home. About 5 minutes away from me, about 2 years ago, there was a murder-suicide on a street I go down all the time. A lady separated from her husband and dated a guy. She ended up reconciling with the husband. The ex boyfriend came to their house, killed her, shot the husband, and then killed himself. Husband survived. That all of that happened while her and the husbands 3 kids were in the house…Every time I drive by that house I think about it. Can’t imagine.

Few things will ever top the sheer gonzo insanity of Bad Boys II. Movie is epic.

As for this one, the same guys who directed Bad Boys III came back to do this one and that one was surprisingly solid. Nothing great but good enough for a Bad Boys film. I have faith this will at least be as solid as that.

Bad Boys 2 is one of my all time favorite action movies. 3 was alright. I didn’t hate it but I only watched it once in theater and never felt the need to rewatch.

Getting some antibiotics after a quick chat with my local doctor, only downside is I can’t go back to work until Thursday which is a long time off in the world of teaching!

Good to hear you got meds. Hopefully knock that sickness out.
My daughter had strep a few months ago and you could barely tell. Had a light fever so we took her to the dr. Made no mention of a sore throat or earache but came back positive on both. We asked if she had noticed the pain and she was just like “ehhh kind of”. She’s 10 yr old haha.

Once every couple of months I think “would it be funny to get into WoW now?”

Then I remember it’s an MMO, which means I’ll get tired of playing it after about 3 days.

I can’t believe I never got into WoW. My friends and I were done with school and they were absolutely consumed by the game. I mostly stuck to shooters back then. Almost got talked into it many times but I think seeing how addicted they were scared me away.

hell it barely got started and never got anywhere near developed to the point that having it play a pivotal role in Dalton's actions honestly made no sense. I know what the film was going for but they never spent enough time on it to make it feel real, they just seemed to think 'well...the audience will understand we don't actually need to spend any real time building an actual/emotional connection here'

It was weird how the bookstore went from being attacked, to hearing “they were in the hospital”,  to the dad and daughter just being fine at the end.

  6. This was a fun Saturday night movie. I definitely preferred the first half of the movie over the last.  Conor McGregor was really over the top, but it was still fun. My biggest complaint is probably the distracting cgi/vfx, or whatever the correct term is. During some fight scenes, certain things moved so quickly and unnaturally. Like something out of a video game.

  7. Went to see this movie tonight. My wife signed up for some AMC rewards program a while back, and sometimes they do member only screenings of new movies.  My kids were really excited to go and got extra pumped when we pulled in and saw the Ghostbusters car parked out front of the theater. There was probably 15 people dressed up in full costume and gear which was fun. Most of them were part of the Central Pennsylvania Ghostbusters (didn’t know that was a thing) and they raise money for charity.

The screening was in a nice big theater and was rather empty besides us, the “ghostbusters”, and maybe 4 other families.  I thought the movie was fun. I’m not the best at rating movies these days. I feel like older kids and teens will like it. Adults will think it’s fine with plenty of “remember that/remember that person” moments. My kids are 10 and 12 years old and they LOVED it. Had some good jump scares for them.  The story centers a lot around the girl, Phoebe Spengler, so like the last movie, it feels like it’s geared toward the young adult crowd. Some mild complaints(pretty much spoiler free):

Phoebe has a few scenes with another girl that I thought drag on a little too long. Another was that I didn’t think the “big bad” of the movie was really utilized much by the end of the movie. You see in the previews that the city freezes over but I thought they could have explored a lot more with that.

Actually my favorite part of the movie was just the first 3 or so minutes of the film. I think I would have liked to see a story set in that time a lot more. Might be able to do some fun stuff there.

  8. Finally got rid of the horrible foam mattress I’ve been torturing myself on for two years. Got a king size Avocado Green Firm mattress. Saw they had great reviews in a lot of places. There was one single store about 10 minutes away from me that carried the mattress in store. The next closest was 100+ miles away so I was happy I could feel it in person. Slept on it about a week now and cant believe how good I feel.

  9. After pandemic, it made more sense to buy new, especially when you can find those 0% APR deals. I haven’t kept track of used prices to see if they have come down to realistic levels yet. They were ridiculous for years after pandemic.

I did all the research when I bought my used 2019 Mazda CX-5 in 2021.  Consumer Reports rated it really good for reliability and everything. Then in 2023 the transmission died at 40,000 miles. I was so thankful the 5 year bumper to bumper warranty was still in tact because otherwise it would have been a $6-7k fix. Oh and then the dealership had my car from July to January because of part shortages. That’s how long it took for a new transmission to come in. Again, thankful for that warranty because it gave me a free loaner car. Otherwise I would have had to pay for a rental for 6 months.  Consumer Reports has since updated their ratings for my make and model and it ain’t that great now.
I guess all that to say, buying used is risky.

This isn’t a next gen console.

The Series S isn’t why they “failed”.

4k TVs at the release of the PS4 Pro and XboneX were high quality, let alone at the release of the PS5 and XSX.

The issue with 8k isn’t the amount of people who have them or 8k content not being available, it has to do with the actual panels, processors in the TVs, and picture quality being trash.

I know I haven’t seen an 8k tv in person yet. Would a place like Best Buy have them on display?
