Yeah I was going to say pretty much the same. It will be a “fun” exhibition match. I wish it could be more.  It will pull in huge numbers though. Both of them have their own huge fan bases.

I was definitely a Nickelodeon kid growing up.  Not sure if I want to watch this or not.

It felt good listening to the judge say all that. Especially calling him out saying if given the chance, he would probably kill again. 

I went into this movie totally blind.  I felt it dragged in some parts, but overall it was quite a surprise. I laughed a lot more than I expected.  My daughter also sings the Ken song just about everyday and acts out the music video.

I loved it when I played it way back at release. I remember people not liking something about it but I ignored all that and had a good time with it.

I was able to have some fun(and some not)with the game last night.  People kept joining the game but randomly dropping out. I got pretty invested into the one mission but by the end my only other teammate would just keep killing me at random moments (on purpose). My son watched me play this morning and I got paired up with a level 30 player. I’m like a level 5 haha.  They were using the flamethrower which looked cool as hell. Hoping it’s stable this weekend to get more time in.

Is the game going to be playable tonight?

Imagine what this thing will look like in the drive thru or after people get it delivered.

When I read that, I assumed suicide or an overdose the way they danced around the fact of head trauma.

I read a few articles about this the other day. All the stories said something along the lines of “they are unsure if the death was related to the fight”. Which just seemed outrageous. Like of course they are related. 

I won’t say it looks horrible, I’m just not that interested in it. It kind of gave me Guardians of the Galaxy vibes.  

That looks great! Probably gonna need help on some of those bosses though.

Darkstars family health updates:

-Jan. 11: I woke up totally fine and an hour later non stop diarrhea and almost threw up. Either food poisoning or a 24 hour bug because by the next day I was back to normal.

-2 weeks ago my son tested positive for Covid. He stayed in his room a lot but was still hanging out with us. I made sure he wore a mask around us. Nobody else in the house got it.

-About a week ago my wife got the flu(we are assuming flu because she had legit flu symptoms, tested negative for Covid, and seemed to be fine within a few days).
My daughter and I seem to have made it through unscathed.

Got on around 10pm last night. Game just loaded right up no problem. Tried fighting robots solo since it didn’t connect to anyone. Man that was a mistake. Game over within 5 minutes on medium.  Went back to a bug planet and the game connected to 3 other players and I had a great time. Someone in the squad threw down a very badly placed napalm strike which hilariously killed 3 out of the 4 members. Couldn’t even be mad.

I still feel the same as I always do when talk of a PS5 Pro comes around. To me it feels like there hasn’t been enough exclusive PS5 only games.  So the thought of trying to justify a Pro seems silly.  My son has my PS4 Pro in his room and just a few months ago was the first time I noticed a new game he might like isn’t playable on PS4.  I guess I could see myself buying the Pro just so I could give my son my current PS5. Otherwise it would be a hard pass.

The earbuds are already out for like $199. The Pulse Elite are a normal headset for $149. I’m interested in these “planar magnetic drivers” they use for sound.I think if I remember correctly, Sony bought a company called Audeze and they are bringing some of their tech to Sony’s gaming headsets and earbuds. Supposed to sound pretty good.

I forgot to update that my Portal did finally show up and I’ve been using it exclusively in bed a few nights a week. Just like I had hoped, it is a great handheld to play your singleplayer games.  The connection has never been laggy feeling. Games look great. The screen can be very bright and colorful, especially in a dark room.  Any fast paced multiplayer games though….no way. I have close to 1,000 hours into Rocket League so the first thing I did was load that up. All I can say is ewww no way. Any game where you are multitasking with a lot of movement feels bad. Same goes for Modern Warfare 3. Like if you go to sprint, slide, aim and shoot really fast it just can’t seem to keep up. MW3 is playable if you move at a slower pace though. Definitely not ideal.
I’m still happy with the purchase. I played through some of the first Alan Wake. It runs buttery smooth and the flashlight looks good shining it around. Then I played most of that free Silent Hill game that came out a few weeks ago(hated the game but it ran and looked cool). Only nitpick I have is in a quiet room, the vibration and especially haptic triggers can sound annoying.  I ended up just disabling those and I don’t even notice. The haptic triggers can have a real clackity sound to them.  Battery life has been great. I’ll definitely continue to use the Portal. I’m just using some junky wired earbuds right now for sound. I had preordered the new pulse elite headphones that come out this month. Really excited to get those and pair them up with this.
