It's clear that Cambridge Pete is making a play for white boomer heavy Iowa but that's a tactic without a strategy. What a lame candidate. No wonder he lost the dnc chairmanship race.

And the real reason she won't ever be the nominee is because she will never protect the vote and the real power in the Democratic party can see right through her.

When you get right down to it there's a fundamental question of what voters we'd lose nominating someone so clearly authoritarian sympathetic and likely anti-Islamic, a Tucker Carlson guest-ing right winger with no track record of supporting real progressive causes. The group who votes Democratic isn't a given under the most ideal of circumstances much less the current situation of state governments hostile to voters turning in ballots for Democratic candidates. We can stipulate that she appeals to a certain segment of voters but your argument just begs the question of whether chasing these voters in this way is even worth it.

Her appeal to those people is a pretty face with no real chance. There's no risk in saying they'd vote for her; they would not. It's just like Bernie bros in 2016 saying they'd vote for Warren turning around and shitting on her now. It was safe for them to deflect charges of sexism by saying they'd vote for someone they weren't being asked to choose.

They can be made to, but chances are societal pressures would force it. People might not know numbers but they know it's compensation.

We're in too much upheaval right now. Most of the party voters who were paying attention during the Obama years are fed up with negotiating with ourselves before coming to the table. Tired of letting conservatives set the terms of debate. Politics abhors a vacuum and really the only way to start getting back to normal is breaking the gop's stranglehold on political rhetoric. That will never happen without real contrast, not just a Democrat with Republican talking points.

The vast majority of the non-left wing voters in the Democratic party are minorities (typically black Americans). Failing to see that and just repeating Republican attacks isn't going to be what gets the "centrist" vote in the Democratic party. Also there's a difference between "centrist" and attacking from the right. Nobody's out here getting on Klobuchar's back for stupid pandering to a demographic that doesn't really exist*. *-the Democratic party "centrist" whose votes are won with Republican talking points. The only people who ostensibly vote dem but are appealed to with this nonsense is the donor class. It's like the ghost of Starbucks guy's campaign started haunting mayo Pete.
