  1. I had let some pass but then I let longer time pass… which again doesn’t make a whole lot of sense on a systems level. Like an extra day goes by and somehow I’m ok now.
  2. I finally got it. I just went and did some other stuff for a couple of in game days and did it again, no changes other than time passing, and the guards couldn't have cared less about me.
  3. It’s the masquerade quest. Part of the main story. I have all the proper attire on, no weapons equipped or anything, and I get attacked as soon as I enter.
  4. It's only frustrating to me when I feel like I pretty clearly have NOT been given the information I need / getting conflicting info. Tons of games do the "you need the right shit on or you're in trouble" thing, and there are various ways to account for that. The thing that got me was that the guy was like oh come the fuck on in and then all of a sudden I'm literally getting sliced to pieces. Yeah other than music there's not a whole lot of feedback. And even on that sneaking into the prison one it's like one second everything is fine and the next they're out for blood. Like jesus did I look in the general direction I shouldn't? I assume gonna be minor complaints overall but when I've got slightly limited time it's frustrating. Now I gotta do the masquerade again and I'm not sure if I accidentally bumped someone or my clothes aren't fancy enough or what lol.
  5. There are some things about the game that are needlessly frustrating. For instance, the masquerade quest I had like everything on I thought I should have, no indication I don't. I'm literally escorted in and welcomed, only to be cut down by the guards instantly without any knowledge why. Then was in jail. Annoying.
  6. He was a pawn from a player for sure. And last night he was just normal, so he must have kitted him out between when I played.
  7. That's my guess. It's kind of a shame, he basically one-shotted the first dragon you encounter so I missed out on that fight. Oh well. It was kinda funny at the same time.
  8. I’m not sure but I think one of my pawns is ridiculously OP for the level he’s at… he’s just destroying everything. Feels like a glitch. Edit: ooop yep not sure it’s a glitch but he’s absurdly OP haha. Need to dismiss his ass. My strength total is 217 as a level 18 fighter. He’s a level 18 thief and it’s 14,000 hahaha. Jesus.
  9. I see where they're coming from generally, but I find the discourse around this game to be a little strange. Every positive review seems hesitant to just say it's good without a million caveats that it's not for everyone, or it's better than the sum of its parts, or something like that. Whereas like, a more traditional game people are comfortable saying typical hyperbolic shit that they'll just say without batting an eye "one of the best RPGs ever / of the decade" or whatever. Have courage, reviewers. Good lord. Or at least be consistent.
  10. You're not wrong to post it and the articles aren't wrong in and of themselves, but the meandering nature of every fucking article nowadays as well as the internet just stealing all the shit that everyone posts, it gets confusing about WTF is actually being talked about. In this case, the way that PC gamer article is written as well as some others I've seen, it DOES kind of sound like it's the game somehow "losing" data or whatever, rather than make clear a lot earlier on that it is an option perhaps too easily accessed on the main screen and to just use caution about that and know what it does. I assume the load from inn option is there to allow you to just reset to a safe place if you happened to wander off to a really tough area that you're having trouble getting out of / getting in some loop of dying and super frustrated. Part of the problem is writers of these articles are like "HYPERBOLIC STATMENT FOR HEADLINE" ----- Lede: Webster's dictionary defines a game save as so and so. Dragon's Dogma is a popular new entry and it has many options. If we can keep you on this page just little longer, we'll get some more ad revenue and you'll eventually get the tiny bit of information that you clicked on the misleading headline for." It drives me up a fucking wall.
  11. There’s not, it’s just a common viral story for people who apparently don’t intuitively understand why you’d use that option.
  12. The first inn in melve or whatever the guy says many times he is not very busy so he is both the vocation guy and the inn guy.
  13. Discussed earlier. The designers of the game legitimately feel fast travel is not needed. This I’m sure was not their decision.
  14. Do you guys know what happens to the stuff your pawns are carrying if they… per chance … fall in a lake or something. Just wondering…
  15. Oh don't get me wrong, I am not trying to defend Capcom. I just think the people who are claiming this is "pay 2 win" or whatever are missing the point of the game. Like if Nintendo sold .99 cent skips from Mario 1-1 to Mario 8-4 and people wanna buy them, OK go for it, but maybe reevaluate what you actually enjoy about playing video games at that point.
  16. I know I’m just messing with you. You’re like the game is bad all this cool shit keeps happening all the time (I know you don’t think the game is bad)
  17. The overwhelming general consensus around OG RE4's release was that it was a masterpiece, and that the controls were awesome. While I agree that the original games, probably up to and including 4, were more fun to speed run than their modern iterations, I still think they're fun to speed run and I think that when you're trying to get a better "score" by playing the game again, you're naturally gonna play through it faster anyway. The first play through, especially if it's your only play through, should not be concerned about score at all. Hell, your second and third play throughs shouldn't either if that's not your thing. But the score is just there to meet it on its own terms. RE has always had interesting challenges to it to be had if you want, even before trophies and stuff. People were doing knife only runs prior to the trophy for it, or no deaths. Had I infinite time, I'd like to pick one of the games - probably REmake - and get really good at beating it.
  18. I can understand the frustration with those microtransactions but I don’t necessarily trust most people making a stink about them online. Maybe I’ll feel differently later on, but I trust the designers of the game when they say we purposely left fast travel extremely limited and stuff like that. I don’t think it’s their decision to then offer this BS to purchase, and again until I run in to a situation where I feel actually swindled I am going to assume most of that is manufactured anger looking to get attention. The reviews we’ve read played the entire game without knowledge of this stuff and they loved the game as is.
