  1. As Palestine Suffers, A Call For Action KOTAKU.COM Stop me if you’re heard this one before. The language in this article is DESERVEDLY harsh against Israel (and the United States):
  2. GameSpot has also posted links to Palestinian relief organizations: Help Palestinian Civilians In Need By Donating To Charity - GameSpot WWW.GAMESPOT.COM There is a humanitarian crisis happening and Palestinians are in need. Here’s how you can help.
  3. I'm guessing she just called a couple of people that were already in her phone's contact list.
  4. Clicking on the flag on the banner leads directly to this page: How to Help Palestinian Civilians - IGN WWW.IGN.COM Here are ways you can help others during the current Israeli-Palestinian conflict by donating to various organizations.
  5. IGN added a Palestinian flag to its logo probably because today is the 73rd anniversary of Israel's independence in 1948 which is referred to by Palestinians as Dhikra an-Nakba (Memory of the Catastrophe). "Video Game News, Reviews, and Walkthroughs - IGN" Video Game News, Reviews, and Walkthroughs - IGN WWW.IGN.COM IGN is your #1 destination for all video game news, expert reviews, and walkthroughs.
  6. Apologies to @Littleronin and @SaysWho? but I'm going with @SimpleG's suggestion and will be donating it to one of those two charities. I have no idea how that option completely slipped my mind!
  7. Seeing as how I just obtained a PS5 and practically all of my non-Sony exclusive gaming is done on the PC, I figured that I have no real need to keep my X1X which to say has been "gently used" is an understatement: I honestly can't remember the last time I turned it on So, I've decided that before I put it up for sale that I'd offer it to you fine people for (almost) free. I say "almost" because the only think you'll have to reimburse me for is the shipping and packaging costs. Sure, it's the last-generation console, but it's probably not a bad secondary if you're primarily a PlayStation gamer or if you have kids. Anyway, just let me know if you're interested!
  8. Total War: Warhammer 3's huge boss battles are a very different way to play Total War | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Our first hands-on had more than a few surprises.
  9. I'm not going to pretend that similar sentiments have not been expressed by Palestinians. Of course they have - we've seen countless videos of both secular and Islamist Palestinian political/military leaders as well as ordinary Palestinian civilians wishing to "push the Jews into the sea" or "reduce Tel Aviv to ashes". But again, I come back to the point that I made earlier: the unquestionably overwhelming political/economic/military superiority of the Israelis makes such sentiments expressed by them to be inherently worse morally than similar sentiments expressed by the Palestinians. The extreme power imbalance makes all the difference from a perspective of moral culpability.
  10. I have zero doubt that it was. Better to quickly surrender to the Americans than risk having the Soviets landing on Hokkaido.
  11. It's not even a remotely close situation. By mid-1945, Japan was absolutely finished! Its armies had been pushed back from its Pacific defensive perimeter and had no means to replenish. Its navy was sitting at the bottom of the ocean and had no means to manufacture more ships. American B-29s had complete and total air supremacy over the home islands and could reduce what was left of its cities to smoldering ash at any time. The only place where the Japanese military existed in any significant concentration was in Manchuria and the Soviet Union was looming just over the border having just polished off Nazi Germany. Even if the government had become more extreme (a doubtful proposition considering the internal dynamics of the emperor), there would've been absolutely nothing they could've done except watch their civilian population starve to death.
  12. It wouldn't have kicked it that far, only a few months at the most. Besides, the use of the atomic weapons wasn't primarily to convince Japan to surrender, it was to show the Soviets that we had a brand new toy for the post-war world.
  13. It would've been cheaper than the invasion and by that point in 1945, Japan had all but collapsed anyway so I doubt the blockade would've been necessary for too long.
  14. Sure there was! It involved a complete and total blockade of the Japanese home islands by the Pacific Fleet. There could very well have been some instances of mass starvation, but the overall death toll would probably have been far less than either the use of the atomic weapons or Operation Downfall (the codename for the invasion).
  15. That would entirely depend on one's perception of moral relativism. From my perspective, when you're dealing with combatants of the relative strengths of the United States, United Kingdom, Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, and Imperial Japan, it's essentially a "wash", morally speaking.
  16. The Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings had a higher combined death toll, but the Tokyo Fire Bombing had the highest death toll for a single raid.
