CitizenVectron
And the tl;dr: is that they inflated rich kids' grades, and deflated everyone else. So in the UK I guess you get placement grades for applying to universities? And this year their exams couldn't take place for obvious reasons, so they used an "algorithm" to assign grades based on past performance, stuff about the school district, teacher recommendations, etc. Well...kids in private schools were boosted, and kids in public schools were shit on (using north american terms for the schools). Some kids are randomly getting an A in advanced math while getting a C in basic math, etc. The overall trend is that rich kids marks are over-performing, while average and poor kids are losing grades. Leave it to the fucking UK government to ruin and entire generation's lives, potentially. The government is defending lowering the grades of so many poor and average kids, saying that keeping them too high would put them in situations they are not prepared for. So it's for their protection!

Commissar SFLUFAN
You all really have no idea how absolutely critical those A-level examinations are in the UK and many other Commonwealth nations. They're pretty much the near equivalent of the "horror story" examinations in South Korea.
