CitizenVectron
Vancouver mayor, Health Canada to formally discuss drug decriminalization | CBC News WWW.CBC.CA Vancouver city officials and Health Canada are expected to begin formal discussions on the city's plan to decriminalize simple possession of illicit drugs, according to Mayor Kennedy Stewart. Big news, and good news. Drug possession/use would be completely decriminalized. This wouldn't mean it would be tolerated/supported, but that the punishment (if required) would shift from criminal prosecution to rehabilitation/help (again, only if needed).
silentbob
That would be great on focusing on the mental health and not prison to screw them up even more.
Fizzzzle
I like that places are going towards this model. Locking people up for addiction is never the answer. I'm glad Oregon got on board with that.
