So folks left The first Lord of the Rings movie thinking "Whelp... too bad they never made it to that mountain to destroy that ring! I guess those two little Hobbits that got taken are FUCKED".
I’m not sure that’s the best comparison. For starters you’re talking about movies based on an iconic trilogy of books that had been around for what, 60 years at that point? They also ended FotR in a way that very clearly acknowledged their would be more to the story. While Infinity War ended pretty matter of factly. Thanos won and walked off into the sunset. The only way to pull out that there was more to come is you really paid attention to what Dr Strange said/did and if you stayed past the credits.

Greatest Hits albums shouldn’t count.

It was a static camera but I thought the Castlevania Lords of Shadow camera work was great. Really did a great job setting the mood and scope for each scene.

I choose Yen and have no regrets.

The Giraffes in Last of Us. After making it through the emotional drain of the Winter I just wanted the game to end with them living safely with those damn Giraffes haha

Well, if they're flavoring it with stuff, then it would obviously taste different than regular mayo. Much like pickles don't taste much like a raw cucumber, since it's been spiced up and altered.
I don't get why this is so hard for some of you guys to grasp.
I get what your saying. You like it flavored. I’m just saying people refer to them as if they’re two different things. They’re not. If you add sriracha to Hellmens you have sriracha mayo or sriracha aioli. Same thing.
The pickle to cucumber isn’t a good analogy. Saying you like Dill but don’t like Bread and Butter pickles makes more sense. Just like lots of people don’t like plain yogurt but love flavored yogurts. A cucumber is not a plain flavor of a pickle.

Aioli is literally mayo. If a restaurant has aioli on its menu that just means they make their mayo from scratch. Plain aioli and mayo are literally the exact same thing. However 99.9% of restaurants flavor their aioli with something so a lot of people don’t realize it’s the same. Also since it’s homemade it has a slightly smoother texture than the commerical stuff.

I don’t feel like reading this whole thread but exactly what evidence is there of him “growing”? Did he actually grow or is he just smart and knows what he said isn’t a good look and has learned to say the right thing to cover it up?
For the most part people should be given second chances. But when rape and pedophilia is involved? Nah, you can fuck right off.

Of course I do. What an odd question. I mean we have our own tastes so we don’t watch every movie together but we watch a fair amount together.

That looks cool, I’m down.

That's not true at all. The more I watch Ready Player One, the less I like it, and it absolutely pales in comparison to the book.
And I've been waiting for this movie for over TWENTY YEARS.
Mind you, I have no misconceptions that this will be the book, I just want to enjoy the movie. I only care that two of the plot points happen from the book. If they happen, I'm golden.
This series has 6 full novels, a prequel novella, and a crossover from another one of his series.
Incorrect opinion is incorrect. Ready Player One the movie is vastly superior to the book.

I’m honestly kind of surprised there isn’t a porn streaming service already. I guess cause there’s still too much free stuff out there?

I wasn’t arguing that it was. Just stating what I thought.

Huh I thought NBC owned all of Hulu.

Sucks but sounds like Black had a pretty good reason for doing so and was a gentleman about it.

Damnit I watched the whole trailer and now I wanna see it.

Is that how long you have to be gone to qualify as a new subscriber? I was wondering if the cord cutting experiment doesn't work out how long i would have to have been gone to get their deals again.

Thanks. Verizon, like most IPs, treat existing customers terribly so I have to switch for a year to another service and Comcast is the only other IP available to me.
Yeah I don’t know that they treat me great but I’ve never really had to call them to fix anything in the years I’ve had them so they seem ok haha

How is Comcast as an internet provider? I can’t seem to get a decent internet package with Verizon because I am an existing cusomter.
I have them(have no choice) and they’re decent enough. I stream and play a lot of games and never noticed any slow down.
I just got an LD B7 OLED so sounds like Apple TV is the way to go. Does anyone know if you can buy different remotes to work with it? I’ve heard their remote is trash.

Is that a guy or a girl in the middle?

So I finally convinced my wife to cut the cord. I think we're going to go with YouTube TV with Philo tv to supplement. We already have Netflix and Prime. I wish I could run everything through my LG TV but Philo isn't supported on it yet nor is it on Xbox or PS. I've read a bunch of reviews on all three but they seem pretty inclusive. Figured I'd turn to the fine ladies and gentlemen of D1P for some advice. I think I'm leaning towards Roku Ultra since I'm not very tied into Apple and I've heard mixed reviews on the performance of the Fire TV. What do you guys think? Experiences with them?

Skinny Jonah equals no watch for me. He creeps me out skinny.

I’m still not really sure where they’re going with this. Like, does he convince the symbiote to be good? Is he slowly corrupted by the sympbiotes power and becomes a villain by the end of the movie? Is he just an anti hero? Why are they making him funny?
im so confused by this movie but Tom Hardy is keeping me interested by a thread.

Ehh there’s two levels to that though. I’d venture most people after watching FotR assumed there was more to come while at the same time having no idea the outcome of the story. The endings of those movies were filmed to acknowledge there would be more to come.
