So there was a potential warrant being served is what I've read. I'm guessing the guy turned on the gas and did this to avoid legal consequences.
It's an astounding video.
EDIT: Oh noooo this was a duplex!

Not a fan of the movement of Godzilla. Too cgi for my tastes. But I'm always happy with Japanese Godzillas, so I'll catch it.
I'm a fucking idiot.
I just got done seeing Minus One. This is not only the best Godzilla movie since the original 1954 Gojira. It is also the best movie I've seen all year, beating out Oppenheimer.
No spoilers here, but the human characters are perfect, compelling, INCREDIBLY distinct, well acted, and really brought out my emotions. The music in this movie is to die for. Lots of great music, including reusing Akira Ifukube's scores. The action and effects are out of this world good. The practicality and realism of everything happening really grounds the movie for me, even if it does surround an overgrown lizard.
To put it short, this is a perfect movie. The pacing was right where it needed to be. There were moments where I wanted to stand up and cheer. There's also great little easter eggs for nerds like me who love this series.
Holy hell. I'm still in awe. Perfect 10/10.
Go see Godzilla Minus One while you still can.

I looked it up, because I'm confused on why people are celebrating Kissinger's death.
Apparently, he helped Pol Pot commit atrocities. Yeah, that's not good.
lol
Keep reading. You'll find quite a lot.

He was the only person ever to be White House national security adviser and secretary of state at the same time. He also became the target of relentless critics.- 2

Wait until you see tank what which run on vodka.
In the 70s, there were a few Soviet bomber aircraft that had a cooling loop in one of its systems that comprised of a mix of water and ethanol--essentially vodka. Pilots and crew would drink the cooling liquid and get apocalyptically drunk.

True. Like the WBW. It's out there, but I think it works. That's honestly one of the things about Ahsoka that work the best.
Ahsoka's problem is that characters won't talk to each other about the thing that's bothering them. And that's an old old old fundamental problem with poorly done media.

After Ahsoka and its cartoonish-ness I can't say I'm excited about this news.
Ahsoka's problem is that Filoni wrote all the episodes. Filoni's ideas and characters and direction are on point for what Star Wars need to be. But he needs a writer's room.
What's irritating is some of the best Clone Wars episodes (Phantom Apprentice/Shattered/Victory and Death) were solely written by him. In Rebels, he and Henry Gilroy teamed up for some bangers too (Jedi Night/Twin Suns).

I don't even know what this company is supposed to do. Why is this important?

This doesn't look very interesting and I'm glad it isn't a Star War.

I find it adorable that the Russians are so bad at naval air defense that they've--since day one--been putting land based SAMs on their ships to widen their net.

Last night, someone at work, told me this war was over and Russia is going to win. He said Zelensky was begging for more money and that we aren't giving them anymore. I asked him who was reporting that and he said some youtuber named Tim Pool? I don't know who that is, but he sounded very confident!
Oh jesus christ.
Feel free to ignore everything this coworker of yours tells you. And if he brings up anything from Tim Pool again, tell him you'll not ever speak with him again. Tim Pool is a fascist.

Same. I'm also a Patreon subscriber for a couple podcasts, but they aren't really news.
So I voted no.

I'm also annoyed by this. We've been using Mint since before they were bought out, so it's frustrating to see it go away only to be pushed towards what seems to be a lesser product.
In the wake of this I've seen multiple recommendations for YNAB. I have a friend who uses it, but I have no personal experience. It's $100 a year, so it better be good. Would love to hear of other recommendations before going through the effort of setting up a different service.
Every evangelical friend of mine that is not all the way pilled on Dave Ramsey swears instead by YNAB.
I couldn't be bothered to try it, but I generally don't spend a ton of money anyway, so I don't have an issue budgeting. This really sucks for people that have used and liked Mint. Tools like that are great and it sucks that capitalism is extracting more value from things that should be free.

I took my office chair home during Covid.
I had to bring it back, but no one said a thing. I know a guy who also took his standing desk from the office lmao.

I'd like to introduce the 51% of the general public who say that UFOs aren't a "threat" to the "Dark Forest Hypothesis".
They already believe made-up stories, so why not add one more!

They know they exist but they also know the general public is too fragile to understand and accept there is other life out there. They will never tell us the truth.
What if I told you polling said the general public is NOT fragile about it?
Most Americans believe in intelligent life beyond Earth; few see UFOs as a major national security threat
WWW.PEWRESEARCH.ORG
About two-thirds of Americans (65%) say their best guess is that intelligent life exists on other planets. But you're right that they'll never tell us the truth. Because the truth is that these "sightings" are normal everyday objects, military equipment, or other mundane things that are not extra-terrestrial in origin. And they won't tell us not because we're fragile, but because it removes a really good distraction from the other shit the military gets up to.
