If having a bit of "creativity" in board names -- which contain a description of the board contents just below the name -- turns away newcomers, then I don't want 'em here anyway!

Cutsey names are turn offs for a lot of people.

I'm really late and want to watch this before I jump into Cage season 2. I'm only 4 episodes into JJ but does it pick up? Damm this is slow as hell. If it wasn't for some of the humor, I may have dropped this.

It def picks up. I remember the first 3-5 episodes being suuuuuuper slow.

$1750 from beach camera (authorized reseller) via eBay. If you’re not in NJ, no tax. so depending on where you live,  this might only be 40-75 bux more for brand new.

Looks like it states could’ve been refurbed by LG or another 3rd party refurbish supplier.

Also, only 90 day warranty. Yikes.

Can you purchase an extended warranty, like square  on a refurbished product? That would be the only way I would spring for this.

Original sale is over (the price is up) - when I posted it was all LG refurbished. :/

If you have decent income and a score over 780, you probably get the best available rates for normies. I took my mom car shopping last year, she had an annual income of $60,000 and a ~760 score and got a 1.9% rate from the lender she went with.

And most banks will immediately refund fraud transactions pending the outcome of their investigation. That drawback of debit cards is pretty much void in 2018.

Yea, to my understanding, anything over 780 is ignored. As long as your score is at least 780 you *should* get the best possible rate.

I have seen them as cheap as $17 but those don't come with all the other old formats but include a digital copy with the disc. Also this all gets cheaper over time. and @number305 pointed out you can rent them like from Redbox. 4k is nice but HDR is what really interests me more.

The couple that I've gotten have been $15-19 and have come with a digital copy + HD-BD along with the UHD-BD (The Fifth Element and Die Hard - the former had a lightning sale on Amazon on Wednesday). If you look on eBay you can find tons of people dumping either the UHD discs or the digital codes for $10-15, btw. :)

So they enabled DV only for streaming services? That seems odd. I'm starting to buy some movies in 4K blu ray, but I don't yet have a player. I was thinking about upgrading my OG Xbox One mostly for that purpose, but it doesn't seem worth it if it doesn't support both formats.

I’m guessing it’s a “test” atm and hopefully UHD-BD DV support follows.

I think you are missing some of the actual statement. While this is great news (and I had posted about Xbox getting DV support before the great D1P collapse of 2018).... I believe only streaming services, read: netflix will now support DV. There is no word whether or not blu-ray support for DV will happen. We can only hope.

No I saw that, I was commenting on the wish of it being enabled for games/UHD-BD playback. :p

Xbox is committed to bringing rich entertainment options to our fans. Today we are excited to announce our latest entertainment option, Dolby Vision video streaming support across Xbox One S and Xbox One X! Dolby Vision enables select TVs to take HDR up a notch with scene-by-scene precision and accuracy versus standard HDR which uses one setting for the entire movie/show you are watching. If you have a TV that supports the latest version of Dolby Vision and a Premium Netflix subscription jump in and experience Dolby Vision for yourself in the coming weeks!

The $1,800 monitor (at Microcenter) is a premium 144Hz Quandum-Dot IPS panel with a 384 zone FALD backlight (don't you love the marketing terms?) and the $400 one is a budget 60Hz TN panel.  I wouldn't want to pay $1,800 for a monitor....  But I still want one of these...

144hz @ 4k w/HDR will only be available via GSync at the moment due to the physical module compensating for the required bandwidth to do it through a cable. Honestly, though, VRR tech shines when framerates are below 60.

Then my G-Sync monitor must have been almost free.  All reports I have ever read claim a premium of $150-$200, and that has been pretty consistent with what I paid.

Card releases 2-3 years away is forever in technology...

The only GSync HDR monitor on the market is a paltry 27" with a 4ms response time, yet costs $2000. The previously linked Freesync HDR monitor is 28", has a 1ms response time and is only $400... So, with HDR capable GSync modules, while we don't know the exact cost for said module, it's likely more than a $150-200 premium over Freesync HDR monitors.

I don't want to carry large balances on my CCs. I just don't like debt. I use my CCs like a debit card. I don't charge more than what I'm willing to pay at that time.

    It's a pretty good policy.

Same. The only exception is on my BB or PayPal store cards with 0% interest if paid in x amount of months. (Ie: I want it “now” but can 100% pay it off in the next month :p  )

I have an Amex charge card that I can defer payments up to 6 months with no interest. My Amex blue card allows you to create payment plans up to 24 months with fixed payments and zero interest (as long as you make all the payments on time).

Once you graduate from more basic Visa/MasterCard cards, there are a lot of CC products that allow you to carry balances with no interest.

I only use my Amazon card for the 5% back, otherwise, I never use CCs. :p

I would not expect so.  In almost every instance the difference between HDR10 and Dolby Vision is nominal, where Dolby Vision cranks things up just a hair better than the HDR10.  Were you watching it off a disc or streaming?

Stream. Same place I watched Game Night.

May just be a not-so-great HDR movie. :/
