Two members of a Cybertruck owner's forum claimed that they found "orange rust spots" and "corrosion" on their brand-new trucks, which cost almost $80,000.

Yeah not shocking. This was my first thought after watching that YouTube review posted ealier in this thread. The fact that they're telling owners they have to wipe off all moisture and dead bugs off their vehicles after every trip is not a good sign on the longevity of the body panels.

Can you share more about what this means?

I recall 20+ years ago they had something akin to hyponosis that was supposed to change how the brain processes the pain. Or something. Unfortunately I didn't stick with it but I wish I did.

  3. It's a little bit of both-sidesism, which, if I'm being honest when the polls are this razer tight, should we really be taking shots at the only person standing in the way of "The Return of Voldemort", as they said?

I don't know, they're valid criticisms so it's hard to disagree, but I'm not sure whatever objective he's trying to achieve is the best one to pursue at this exact moment.

  4. There's one time I don't always feel great about. I lived in a bad part of town when my wife and I were at our first apartment. I was making a routine trip to the mailboxes when rounding a corner, I saw a kid running for his life directly at me and an officer chasing him cursing and yelling at him to stop. I made like I was gonna side-step, but then I flung an arm out almost like a clothesline move and caught the boy, and as he slipped away I grabbed his arm and held on tight, while he started screaming and crying. When the officer caught up he drew his friggin gun on the kid, who promptly laid down on the ground. I just stepped away and kept walking on.

Apparently the boy had hijacked a car and tried to hit the officer with it. Other officers showed up but then yelled at the guy over some jurisdiction thing. As I came back with the mail, the other officers had sat down with the boy and were seemingly trying to calm him down while explaining the seriousness of the situation. I just remember the boy saying "how you gonna arrest me, though?"

Listening to The Daily this morning on my way into work, and I had a scenario pop into my head concerning this case.  While I don't think the following outcome is likely, it would sure be interesting!

SCOTUS rules that Trump violated the 14th Amendment by engaging in insurrection/rebellion, however the court is sympathetic to Trump's lawyer's argument that a state (or states) can't remove a person from the ballot based on the reading of that amendment.

14.3 states that a person can't become any of the named positions (and arguably President as well), but it doesn't say they can't be a candidate.  So if states want to exclude Trump from the ballot based on January 6th,  they can't.  However, if Trump wins a particular state, the state could refuse to certify their win.  A 2/3rds vote by Congress after the election, but before the electoral votes are certified would permit the state to move forward and give those EVs to Trump.

    That would be interesting.

It's still a slippery slope though that could lose future Democrats certification. It's hard to imagine an outcome here where our democracy survives unscathed.

Failing to meet a signature requirement is objective (for the most part), this is much more open to interpretation. Ruling in Colorado’s favor would give every Republican state the opportunity to keep Democratic presidential candidates off the ballot with near-impunity from a federal standpoint.

Yeah I kinda agree. This is a bit wishy washy and very much a slippery slope.

  7. I gave up buying stocks when I saw how continually under-valued AMD always is. Either investors are too dumb, or I am, but despite pretty much batting 1,000 with one fantastic generation of products after another, almost without fail the stock falls whenever they announce something new. Just today their stock fell in response to an extremely positive earnings call, particularly around the rapid growth of their AI products, just because the guidance for their other products was down some.

By no means were my comments about Biden implying Trump wasn't a sick pos.

I was getting a few feeds of Biden sniffing little girls hair and was shook a bit. Moving on...

Oh it's definitely weird and deserves to be called out. We don't live in a Biden cult and when he does shit he shouldn't, we have to acknowledge it.
