I clicked on this thread expecting good news!
These climate change articles should really all be in one thread. Not that we probably shouldn't all be aware of the inexorable driving off the cliff in a drag racer that this planet has become, but for some of us the magnitude + helplessness of this crisis we face does nothing good for our mental health.

Are you sure it wasn't a picture of the "sandwiches" from the Fyre Festival? I think this place was literally just the single jellybean and half a cup of lemonade.
Oh, I'm not sure at all.
Edit: yep that's what it was. Maybe someone mixed the events up or were drawing comparisons.

There was a pic somewhere of the food they served, which was a styrofoam box with a pile of lettuce and sliced tomato on top, and a couple pieces of toast with cheese on them.
Like I ate better when I was broke and living in the ghetto.

This fucking killed me when I watched it earlier. I'm still mourning my forever-dog that I lost in June.
I saw the clip elsewhere and it murdered me. I'm not a dog owner but anyone who has had a special four-legged friend can relate.

I was forced to move away to my parents and had to give him away. The day I gave him away he gave me this look I'll never forget. I am tearing up now thinking about it.
Damn dude, I'm sorry. I remember you talking about him and I hoped you'd be able to reunite with him some day.

Wow, they haven't lost a step.
Back in the day I used to take a Painkiller MP3 and rename it to the level music for Painkiller the game so that I could listen to Painkiller while playing Painkiller.
(While optionally also using the game's Painkiller weapon.)

Oh yeah I forgot about that dude.
Hopefully his family doesn't forget him on memorial day.

Alito is absolutely salivating to have this turn into a case that appears before him in order to have the opportunity to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges
I mean, it's absolutely going to be a case. Although I sort of thought this was settled law already.

I really think at this point Cate Blanchett is at the IDGAF stage of her career, where she reached astronomical heights of fame and notoriety decades ago and whose name is already etched in the pantheon of legendary actors known for timeless roles in film. What's left for her to do? Oh, I guess Shlock it up with the most outlandish projects she can find (that can actually afford her).

Of course, as a "serial liar", he could be lying about that as well.
Myself, I never lie about cereal.
Although I've been known to enlarge some details to show texture.

The problem is that this doesn't "die" in the event of a Trump loss.
Project 2025 becomes Project 2029 and so on.

They have been underperfoming in the midterms ever since they attached themselves to Trump. They don't really have anyone else that anyone gives a shit about after the KFC chicken buckets finally send him to hell.
This quote here from the end of the article really lays out the long-term goal:
“These folks aren’t as interested in democracy or working through democratic systems as in the old religious right because their theology is one of Christian warfare.”
This is a war. It doesn't matter if their views are popular or not, that doesn't factor into their strategy. In fact it only HELPS their narrative of Christian persecution. They've known for a long time the voting population has been moving away from extremist Christian views. They've been playing the long game. They don't need or care about the will of the people.
The goal through gerrymandering, voter registration restrictions, eliminating polling places in minority communities and on college campuses, and most recently when they upped the ante drastically with the fake elector scheme, voter intimidation, hindering or elimination of mail-in ballots, and the Jan 6 insurrection... That's the real game. Systematic dismantling of the systems of democracy, while sowing the seeds of mistrust among Conservatives in the integrity of our elections. Convince enough people you're right, and put the right people in positions of judicial power, and you have all the pieces for ending democracy, and you didn't even need the majority to do it.

Do you have a link to Star Trek Discovery and Strange New Worlds coming to Netflix?
Is English hard for you? I said "at this rate" you'll be able to watch those shows on Netflix. Meaning at the rate of re-consolidation, it will probably be a moot point.

Had they stayed with Netflix we wouldn't have had any of these recent new Star Trek series.
Well at this rate you'll be able to watch all the new Star Trek shows on Netflix anyway.

What did they split off from?
At one point most of their legacy shows (Cheers, etc) could all be watched on Netflix.

Trump can run a business in New York in 3 years. I think Gemini describes his future pursuits quite well:
"The scene is bustling and chaotic, typical of a busy New York City street. A bright yellow hot dog stand sits on the corner, emblazoned with the words "Trump's Top Dogs" in faded red paint. Behind the counter stands Donald Trump, his signature comb-over slightly askew and his expression one of deep discontent. He wears a stained white apron over a dark suit, looking out of place amidst the greasy tongs and bubbling hot dog water. Customers mill around, some pointing and whispering, others simply waiting for their orders. A pigeon lands on the counter, scattering mustard packets, and Trump swathes it away with a grimace. The overall image is one of humor and absurdity, highlighting the contrast between Trump's former grandeur and his current, more humble circumstances."
Is this a prompt for Sora? It could be a prompt for Sora.
Also, "There's money in that hot dog stand," he said with a conspicuous wink, idly tugging the sleeve of his orange jumpsuit.

Wow, so spIitting off their own service for their own content has resulted in having to merge services and content again. I love how all these companies that tried to take the ball and go home are now being forced to bring the ball back.

I always saw it as a long shot anyway, and it's definitely something red states would have used and abused if it was affirmed. So in the end I'm not upset either.
