  1. The install for Blacklist is almost 18 GB on the X.

I was curious about this because the game for the 360 had the additional disc with the "HD" textures if you wanted to install them. I'm guessing the XBO version includes them by default? I'm at about 20% so I'll boot it up when it's done and give it a look.

  2. I used to like the free Powerup Rewards tier. Then they slashed the amount points you got for sales to 10 instead of a percentage based on your sale amount, completely removed the trade-in points, and then restricted the B2G1 free to the Pro tier, when it used to just be a regular bi-monthly(ish) sale.

Buncha geniuses, them Gamestop execs. I wonder why they're failing with such a bright group of guys calling the shots.

Would you happen to know why with the Silent Hill HD collection why the first game was never included or HD remastered? I have always wondered.

I dont really know. It bugs me too because imo it was thebest one. SH2 was good but its really just the monstersthat people remember. The underlying story was kinda shit.

Well, they easily don't have exclusives like Sony and Nintendo.

Still, I love, and prefer, their services.

I liked it even before things started to turn around for them in the last few months.

Yeah, i was mainly mocking the recurring sentiment for this gen. Despite all the belly-aching that the Xbox doeant have any games and how theyre failing, theyre still doing quite well for themselves.

  5. I never really used them anyway. The cards they included were similar to the Sponsorship deals that Codemasters was doing in the Dirt and Grid games, only instead of sticking with one sponsor I'd have to swap out the cards every few races. I played along for a while, but eventually I stopped caring how much money I was making off a race, which defeated the entire loot box / mod card angle.

I don't know if Codemasters has the sponsorship gimmick cornered, but it would be a pretty good fit for Forza.

And the developers who don’t need parity (first party) still have to ship for the less powerful Xbox SKUs.  Not that any MS published tittles this year have had the resources to really push the possibilites beyond a res bump.

I think Forza Horizon 4 is being developed with the X as the lead SKU so hopefully we'll see what it can really do.

  7. Is it sad that I remembered the old commercial but couldn't remember the actual game?

I had to google it to temember what kind of game it was, then i rememberedthat i actually owned it lol.

Also, it says 360-degrees of movement, but that would technically be on a flat plane. Since you can move on more than one axis wouldnt that be 360*360?

Nevermind. I suck at science and math and life stuff.

  8. i have u-verse fiber and it's fine... for the most part. The gigabit connection is more than enough and the ping is about 2 ms.

That said, there's a reason i pay out the ass for the gigabit, as their normal tiers were kinda shit.

PS Now works well enough over LAN, but i dont always want to be tethered and thewifi in the PS4 is spotty at best. Also the graphical fidelity takes a pretty big hit.

I cant see anyone paying for the proper bandwidth, but then cheaping out on a streaming box instead of a full fidelity console.

  9. I had an Atari 2600 and my cousin had an Intellivision. Played Wheel of Fortune on my friend's Tandy 1000 a lot.

Then I got an NES for christmas the year it came out.

My fondest memories though were from the bowling alley arcade. My mom bowled in a league on thursday mornings and i would pretend to be sick to stay home from school. Back then, EVERYBODY went to public school so the malls and arcades and shit were empty. Having an entire bowling alley arcade all to yourself was heaven on earth.

I like games, but not gamers. I’ve been playing since the early 80’s. But I don’t consider myself a “gamer”. That word is super cringey to me. It’s weird because I can relate to gamers pretty well. But I don’t like being around them. lol

Is that like when you're standing in line at a midnight release, and you look around at all the other people there, and you have that "Oh, oh God, I'm one of these guys," moment?

Because I love doing gaming related events but I'm a pretty quiet, low-profile guy, and when I see guys in full-on Dork Mode I really can't let myself relate to them.
