Forgoing the complex conversation wheel of previous BioWare games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, Anthem will only allow for two dialogue choices in conversations. The two choices aren't aligned with a morality system of any kind, but do differ in tone slightly.

"We need your help to defeat the evil Furby empire. Will you lend your aid?"

    Option A: "Yes!"

    Option B: "Sure."

  2. I just hate it when the checkpoint/save point is before the cut scene. There is a special place in Hell for those developers that do this leading into a boss battle.

Also, a single cutscene should be no longer than 2 minutes. Don't lock me into something that's going to take 20 minutes to get through; ESPECIALLY if I have to tap the fucking A button to progress the conversation.

Oh, and don't string together like, 9 cutscenes with 15 seconds of gameplay in between each. Why do I have to walk five steps to initiate the next cutscene? Why not just put them all together and get it over with?

You know what, I'm with the OP, fuck cutscenes lol.

It's definitely worth it. Come Sept it will have MCC, Quantum Break and currently Doom, Halo 5, Fallout 4, Sea of Thieves, Gears of War, Vermintide 2, Rocket League, Mega Man collection 1 & 2, The Division, Elder Scrolls Online, Rage, Hitman, Laser League and many more. Best deal in gaming hands down.

Vermintide 2 is worth the $10 alone.

  4. If I'm not mistaken, isn't this MCC release on Game Pass like a soft re-launch for the title? The last I heard of it, they were basically gutting the entire thing and re-building it using a single unifying emulator, since the vast majority of the problems the game had were a result of each of the games running on its own engine and being tied together by a "game" that was basically just a launcher, and that's why everything was shit and game progress was getting lost and nothing in the MCC really fit together.

Or I could just be imaging the whole thing and we're all just human batteries in the matrix.

I love shit like that, when you see the artists step out of their comfort zone and try new (old) things. Some of the most fun photo shoots I've ever had as a photographer was taking stuff I've found and using it in new ways or using it to create an effect that normally requires expensive equipment. I don't do that nearly as much anymore :(

    Crammed with what?

October has Red Dead, Soul Calibur VI and Blops

Then nothing really that is going to blow anyone's skirt up in November and December. :p

I dunno.. there aren't many AAA blockbuster titles in November and December, but there are still a lot of games coming out that do have fans. Smash Bros. Ultimate might sell a few copies, then you have Just Cause 4, Fallout 76, Hitman 2... then you have the residuals from things like Forza Horizon 4, Spiderman, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Dragon Quest XI, etc. that will have people picking up games at a later date. If they can only buy one game at a time, and that game is CoD or RDR2, then they'll be grabbing the rest later on.

That looks like a pretty damn crammed holiday to me, and that's not even counting the wildcards like Biomutant, Crackdown 3, Darksiders 3, etc that people don't really have high expectations for but could be awesome.

Then you have niche titles like the re-release of Tales of Vesperia which isn't a big deal to most but for me personally just adds to the pile.

Personally, I'd rather pick up any number of those games before I pick up Battlefield V. EA needs to prove that they're not going to turn their servers into a shit-show like they did with Battlefield 1. I can't even hop on and do a quick match because I'll repeatedly get booted out because I'm "missing downloadable content." I tried about five times the other day, and it kept sending me to the season pass purchase screen, instead of matchmaking me into a server that had the expansion i was actually trying to get into (which I own). I then I just closed the game and I'll probably never go back.

  7. I know I played those games but I'm struggling to remember a whole lot about them. I remember it was very GR-like but faster and more arcadey. I think what really made it stand out at the time was that it was one of the very few PS2 games that had online play. Other than than it wasn't all that special.

EDIT: Also, Combined Assault was Socom 4. I didn't play that far into the series, only the first two.

Well I mean yeah. Otherwise it would say that Nintendo said those things. Miyamoto is a big enough icon in the industry I think everyone knows he speaks for himself and not for Nintendo or what Nintendo would want him to say.

Yet at the same time he's urging other publishers to embrace subscription models, which is a weird coincidence since Nintendo is set to launch their subscription model next month.

  9. We can't think of this thing as hardcore gamers, we have to think of it from the perspective of a broke ass Mom whose kid really wants a console she can't afford. It's for people who are willing to leverage cost in exchange for having it now.

I'd rather go this route through MS than a place like Rent-A-Center or Conn's who artificially inflate the price and/or charge interest out the ass so that you're paying 2-3 times what the device is worth. Or even worse are the places that factor in the 36 months of interest and tack it on at the start so that no matter how fast you pay it off, you're still paying that 36 months of interest.
