  1. Sounds like you went in wanting to hate it after seeing the first trailer (which was horrible).

This movie is fun, and has some pretty spectacular throwbacks to previous films in the series. If you didn't get choked up for one particular brontosaurus shot, then I don't know what to tell you. There's definitely a distinct moral quandary in this film, and it's handled quite well. I would go into more detail, but that's definitely spoiler material.

There's nothing in this film that's punch-you-in-the-face stupid (Tea Leoni's entire character from 3), and the film actually manages to humanize dinosaurs without it feeling preposterous.

Definitely a better film than it's predecessor, and possibly neck and neck with part 2 for second best in the series.

Also, Ted Levine absolutely nails his role, giving me momentary feels of Raiders (though I'm unequivocally NOT comparing those two films).

The movie is at its best on Isla Nublar, but keeps enough steam through the end to be satisfying. Bring on the next one--Rise of the Planet of the Dinosaurs.

  2. Those RIG 800LX are the set that I really want. Right now I use my PS Gold headset to play Sea of Thieves, and there's always a slight delay, plus I can't control the mix, which is annoying.

When I'm on my PlayStation, there is no better set than the PS Gold. I am curious how much better the new version is.

It does in fact no longer run off the page but did you just severely dial down max width for all embeded content? Look at the OP of that thread for example, it seems like the Youtube video could be the same width as the quote box above it, instead it's ~50% as wide.

Yeah. YouTube embeds should be different, but apparently the code I altered is changing both.

  4. I'm going to do some slight modifications to the theme naming. The themes themselves will remain mostly the same, but the current PlayStation theme will get some slight color changes and be the "Nintendo" theme, while the current SNES theme will get some PS blue highlights and be named the "PlayStation" theme, and I'll remove the space BG header.

All other themes will remain as close to what they were as possible.

I don't really see a need to keep the generic blue theme accents from the previous iteration of D1P.

On the XBox theme, avatars seem to have a white background behind them. I specifically made my avatar a PNG with transparency so that it wouldn't have a white background. :p  Any chance you could make the default avatar background color the same as the posts? Then transparency effects would work.

    Edit -

just to make sure you know what I'm talking about: the white background behind my avatar here:

    s50jKU0.jpg

is a part of the theme, it seems, because the image itself doesn't have that white background, as you can see here, when it's embedded on a black background:

or here in a post, it takes on the color of the background:

    tolkien_logo06.thumb.png.cdf0fc5c84877c2

This doesn't seem to be the case on the other themes... on all of the other themes, the background color is the same as the post color.

Fixed. Background now set to transparent. The PlayStation theme avatar background is most likely set to white, which is why it's harder to notice, because it's the same color as the site background.

  6. The original three themes were never really intended to be the colors of the systems. It was just a new naming convention for the themes that we had. But as I started making new themes, I made them color coded to the consoles they were representing.

Eh, I'm so used to having the Playstation theme with fixed width :P

Huh, I always thought PlayStation was full width. But now that I think of it, I did make that change. I will look into it tomorrow.

Yeah, so what's with the inconsistencies with the themes being either compacted vs natively wide?

AdminCP and Xbox are compact, while SNES and Playstation are wide/stretched to window border

Not inconsistencies, options. Some users prefer fixed width, some prefer fluid width. That's why there's both.

Was the Day One Patch graphics logo at the top always this big? I feel like there's an undue amount of vertical space being taken up here:

    X6NSN3p.png

    It's 10px taller.

  10. At the very least, I'll have the SFW versions of the three themes up before end of day  tomorrow. Next up will be Retro, then Dreamcast, then Backwards Compatible. I have a metric shit-ton of stuff to move around my house before Wednesday because we're having our drywall replaced and the entire house repainted. So please be patient--the other themes will be coming, along with a festive theme for next month.

As always, if you notice something a bit off with any of the themes, please let me know about it in the theme thread in Development Central.

will the xbox theme be coming back eventually?  I think that was the one niggles classic turned into right?

It's being worked on right now. It's going to be a bit different than before, because I honestly can't recall what it looked like. It's going to have more of a Xbox feel to it, so hopefully those who use it like it.

My issue was the icon for tabs in a browser, but I'll go ahead and tag @Nokt since your reply seems to be for him. :p

Lol. What are the chances of two "Nok" usernames.

Yeah, the icon has been fixed. :)

I'll go ahead and give this a "like" since I see you fixed it. Thank you, sir!

Sorry, for some reason that sidebar area seems to be connected with the rest of the site. There doesn't seem to be any CSS that I can see that allows me to ONLY affect the Unread content area. So when I make the change to full width for Unread content, the entire sidebar on the home page goes poof. I'm not entirely sure why they thought that linking multiple sections was a good idea. I have to get back to getting other themes up and running, but I'll circle back to the Unread content at some point.

    SNES

When selecting Unread Content all of the threads only take up 80% of the screen from right to left leaving the last 20% of the left side of the screen just blank.

When inside of a thread however it takes up the whole screen. Can we make it the same or at the very least center it?

    Unread Content

      Reveal hidden contents

    Inside thread

      Reveal hidden contents

That seems to be just an issue with unread content. There's code that's overriding the full width. Will fix momentarily.
