(I know only 2 can be on your ship at once, but it's still hilarious.)

Stuff like this makes me believe they don't actually have a QA team or they straight ignore them. Nobody noticed that the only two children that can be on your ship or live at the Lodge look exactly the same? Couldn't even be bothered to at least give them different hair cuts? I know there's a mod to give one of them a ponytail, but I couldn't begin to guess which of the two gets it.

  2. Nobody hates Jim Davis unless he's pulled a Scott Adams and fell off the right wing cliff. Davis has done what I would do if created something worth a ton. Milk it for all it's worth and live a quiet life where I enjoy my wealth and don't read my name in the news.

Now, hating the comic is all well and good. I enjoy Garfield Minus Garfield a lot more than the original comics.

To me, the concept fell flat on its ass in Starfield because all the characters are so bland that you just don't care about them, so weird things changing each playthrough isn't cool or novel to most players, it's just kind of a wasted idea.

You say that like this is a game that has only two, major child NPCs that also happen to live with you who could not be any more identical.

I have it all set up and updated on the latest firmware and a bunch of games loaded on it now and I really like it! It’s definitely an awesome keychain, it’s crazy how small it is with what it can do. I tried Tekken 3 @Biggie on it and it’s insane you can play that on a keychain.

I can actually play decently enough on it and see the screen well enough to read text etc. Beyond the pure novelty I can really see using it sometimes when waiting around etc because unlike my real handhelds, I’ll actually always have this on me. Just need to remember to charge it after any extended use so it’s ready.

Bored waiting at the doctor? Load up Castlevania Aria of sorrow! Good stuff.

My main concern is for whatever reason I cannot get it to connect to my windows11 computers. I do have one win10 machine so I was able to use that to load stuff on it but for future use I hope I can find a way to connect to win11. But hell, even if all it did was play mario all stars + world, Kirby’s Dreamcourse, and Tetris attacks, that would still be the coolest key chain ever.

Also adding a bigger sd card to it is a lot more work than I would have figured but it makes sense with the kind of device it is. I’m going to just stick with the 32gb for now as that’s plant for this stuff really.

It is also just a great parlor trick, I’ve shown a few people and if they are into games or not they are wowed it exists.

That's pretty much my experience. At first, I bought it on a lark. I figured well, maybe I'll be able to play some NES games on it, if nothing else. I had no idea it was going to be so capable, though.

Played with any of the native games yet? I know there's already Doom, Quake, Duke Nukem, and a few others ported to the handheld.

  6. Well this turned into a guessing game.

  9. After finishing this up over the weekend, here's my stance. WAY too short. The only characters that get any real depth/screen time are Yusuke and Kuwabara. I think they did a great job with those two at the expense of every other character.

A serious shame, too, because the action is phenomenal. One Piece Netflix isn't anime action in a live action. This series, though? This is 100% anime action in a live action, complete with painful thuds against walls and the best drop kicks I've seen in years.

I'm not sure how much I'd recommend this to folks unfamiliar with the property. I have no idea if the rushed storyline hurts things. I mean, it definitely hurts Hiei, but I'm not sure if season one Hiei really has any more depth than edge lord teen. The one thing that did feel weird is the moves him and Kurama pull out. With no depth to the characters, it feels really ass pull to see Kurama become Yoko Kurama or Hiei to summon the Dragon of the Darkness Flame.

I would recommend it to fans of the series. I think I said One Piece Live Action was the best way to watch the first arc of the series, compared you the original anime. That is not at all the case for Yu Yu Hakusho Live Action. However, if you can get passed the rushed storyline, it's got some great action and it's a ton of fun.

So basically a Dragon Ball Kai version of One Piece?

I’ve heard/read that a lot of the filler in One Piece is actually very good (especially compared to the god awful filler in Naruto), but I’ve yet to watch the show.

Kai was just a re-edit. This is a full remake from a different studio with all new animation.

The One Piece anime's filler is fine, especially compared to like Naruto. It's the pacing that's terrible, though. Just a glacial plod through some fantastic sources material.

  11. I'm all for good animation, no filler, and no crazily stretched out fights version of One Piece.

I really love the One Piece manga, but I do not watch the One Piece anime. I only ever jump on and watch a fight or two, but even then, I don't watch much because the fights are often so stretched out since Toei really seems to want the series running all year round.

Would be nice if Netflix named it something else to make it easier to differentiate it from the original series.

This is a Japanese production, not like the One Piece adaptation. A lot of Japanese live-action adaptations of anime are terrible (as you know), with the exception being things like the Kenshin live-action films. Keep us posted, I'm curious where this falls on that scale.

Yeah, this one is by the same studio that handled the live action Parastye and directed by the dude that handled the live action Let Me Eat Your Pancreas.

I'm not really sure how this live action adaptation will work for those unfamiliar with the property. I just watched the first two episodes and aside from some iffy CG and costumes, it's pretty good. However, I watched One Piece live action and could tell that series could be enjoyed by fans and non-fans alike. This one, not so easy to tell. There's a lot of weirdness that doesn't get a ton of explanation; and I'm not talking about denden mushi-like cute weirdness, Like, there's is no baby Koenma in this, but he still has his pacifier.

The choreography is pretty great. I mean, it's very anime, but I'm enjoying that. A live action anime doesn't have to make its fights more realistic. There's nothing wrong with Hiei running sideways along the ground and cutting cars in half. It's biggest weakness is how few episodes we get here. Episode 2 we meet Kurama and fully resolve his motivations. It's very fast.

Someone's already clipped the first big fight on YouTube, so if anyone is curious...
