  2. Doctor Who seems like the absolute worst of the new trend in streaming.

It's hard to even get clear answers on what streams where, but from what I can tell you have to have no fewer than 3 separate streaming services if you want to actually catch up on the series before the new stuff starts.

New stuff is only on Disney+, but D+ has nothing else.

HBO Max has New Who(except the new release stuff) but not Classic Who.

If you want Classic Who you also have to get Britbox. Which, to be fair, Britbox also has SOME New Who(I think...), but not all of it. Also none of the new releases!

I have pretty much given up on watching Who until they figure this all out and I can actually watch everything all in one place again. Or at the very least, all of New Who.

Out of all the disappointing realities of streaming in 2023 I think few are more so than missing the days when you could just load up Netflix and watch damn near all of Who from beginning to end.

It's important to note that practically all of these things are probably well within the constraints of existing statutory authority and won't require further legislative action.

Sure, they'll end up in front of SCOTUS, but I think we all know how well that will go.

Yeah, while the Trump administration had a horrible record in court, and SCOTUS had little sympathy for his election stealing cases, we have every reason to believe SCOTUS will serve up plenty of home cooking for a second Trump term, especially early on.

It is a testament to the depravity of the Trump years that so much happened that it is barely even mentioned anymore that SCOTUS ruled favorably on the Muslim ban and so we have a ruling from 2017 where they have to explain why their ruling looks a lot like Korematsu 2....but it's totally not Korematsu 2 guys, stop saying that!

Chansley was described by prosecutors in his Jan. 6 trial as "the public face of the Capitol riot." He stood out from the rioters who stormed the Capitol, shirtless with a horned headdress at the dais where Vice President Pence had been presiding at the certification of the 2020 election.

As a felony convict, Chansley can run but not vote in the election.

What a delightfully sensical system of government we have.

What is this bullcrap? Yeah abortion would probably win but it wouldn't nudge the state as a whole away from Trump. FL is a GOP stronghold, and even the most bass ackwards policies from DeSantis haven't hurt his popularity one bit. We've had, what, one win in Tampa recently? Otherwise FL is leading the charge for some of the most far-right extremism in the country, and it's now the template other deep red states have been modeling themselves after.

Beshear probably won comfortably in Kentucky on the coattails of his stance on abortion. While he admittedly also won before Dobbs his margin was quite a bit larger this time at 04% vs 5% this time(or a  mere 5,000 vote lead vs. 67,000). Bevins also had unique problems that were specific to him that Cameron did not have this time around....and Beshear still outperformed himself.

This was all in a state that Trump won by over 25%.

Trump won Florida by 3.3% in 2020. For all the hype over Florida being the GOP's one bright spot in 2022, 3% is absolutely still swing state territory.

I am not exactly popping the Champaign, but I see it as a possibility. Nearly every race/ballot measure since Dobbs has outperformed polls in terms of the pro-choice options. Biden, a staunchly pro-choice president vs. the guy who campaigned on and then installed the deciding votes for killing Roe? I honestly don't see why you think it is so outlandish.

I can't recall exactly, but I'm pretty sure I hated Ashur. Like, I don't wanna watch a show about him. He fuckin' died. I don't want him to be the boy who lived out of all the characters who died for real.

If I remember right he was basically the shifty anti-hero type that every show in the '10's had to have because Negan and Littlefinger were so popular.

He wasn't particularly likable or his story particularly well done, so yeah I am not sure why to make a show after him.

Honestly, with God's of the Arena existing and killing off most of the cast at the end of the show I am not sure there is too much meat left on the bone of this property to try to scrounge. And I say that as someone who enjoyed the show quite a bit.

Man, that would be devastating to Republicans if they got it in Florida and that swung the state for Biden. Hard to imagine any scenario at this point where Dems win Florida but lose the election.

To make matters worse for themselves....

    1. Florida is a state that relatively recently used such a measure to return voting rights to ex-felons, and the margin wasn't even that close. Not exactly an issue that is typically seen as a conservative staple.

    2. This year DeSantis signed a 6 week ban into law. Something even DeSantis knew was so reprehensible that he did it in the dead of night with no fanfare.

    3. While it has become less of a Purple state since Trump, it's still far less Red than some states that have already swung big on issues touching on abortion. Such as Kansas, Kentucky, and even Ohio.

With the way that this issue has repeatedly surprised everyone with it's margin of support and staying power it does not seem out of reach that it could lift Biden the 3% that Trump beat him by in '20....

I love that. How dare young people have a say in reproductive rights!

Clearly old men and women who have already went through menopause are the only ones who should be deciding abortion law!

  9. Apparently there was a lot of buzz that Youngkin would use a big night of R victories in Virginia to slingshot himself as a late entrant into the Republican primary and perhaps even replace DeSantis amoung the big money, "anybody but Trump" donors.

Guess that won't be happening

It's crazy how polarization and electoral tricks have made the Republican party one that is so structurally unstable and yet also a coin flip away from winning complete control of the government.

Despite losing the 2020 election to Joe Biden by more than seven million votes, Donald Trump tells a Republican summit near Orlando that he would have won every state if not for widespread voter fraud.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Maybe the quick and easiest way to demonstrate Trump's essential political nature as an authoritarian dictator is the casually insane ego masturbatory lies he tells about himself.

You could change the names and it would be impossible to tell who was telling what lie between Trump's perfect election, Lil Kim's 38 under golf game, or Putin and his l33t hockey skills.

  12. In today's episode of "Who you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?" Trump now denies he ever said that Mexico would pay for the wall.

In fact, he is big mad that the lying media has the gall to claim he ever said such a thing!

    Quote

Trump said: “So with all those losers out there that say – ‘Trump never got the –’ you remember, I used to say, ‘Mexico will pay for the piece of the wall.’”

He continued: “I’ll say, ‘What’s gonna happen if they [Mexico] fight,’ I say, ‘The wall gets higher.’ We all had a lot of fun. But I said, ‘Mexico will pay, for a piece of the wall.’ Well, there was no legal instrument to do that.”

And in case you find your brain trying to justify his denial in an attempt to prevent itself from imploding from an embolism to escape the stupidity(well maybe sometimes he said one thing and sometimes he said the other....) no you are not remembering wrong.....

    Quote

A Trump campaign spokesperson did not respond to a Sunday request from CNN to identify any examples from the 2016 election of Trump pledging that Mexico would pay for “a piece” of the wall. A CNN search of Factba.se, the most comprehensive public database of Trump’s remarks from the 2016 election, turned up no examples of him doing so.
