  1. She did astoundingly well in South Florida, where she's going to campaign.
  2. Oh and apparently this was the guy who was falsely accused of being the one who actually assaulted Dr. Ford. I wonder what he's thinking right now.
  3. We tend to rightly scrutinize eyewitness testimony but I think it's become more and more clear how particularly traumatic events make memory even MORE reliable. That is in no small part thanks to Dr. Ford and her expert testimony. A true American hero.
  4. This is a far more interesting and substantive thing and the thread is very small (one witness). If "Squi" testifies that Kavanaugh certainly knew Ford then that's a significant lie made under oath.
  5. It's also small ball; proving he lied about the meaning of boofing won't even register with a partisan majority.
  6. I don't know about that; if Mark Judge was a good liar they'd have put him under oath. The abject fear of Kavanaugh regarding oath bound testimony from Judge alone would be enough of a matter to interview him.
  7. When it comes to an investigation like this the FBI will make sure you're available. Like, show up unannounced at your work and go to your boss and tell them they need your presence. Or they'll find you at your beach house (regular reporters tracked down Mark Judge).
  8. Less than half a dozen witnesses, matters are already public record, the investigation doesn't need to be restarted only reopened. As far as per se "agility" I would assume (although I think it's a fair one) that the FBI is prepared already so that they can hit the ground running as soon as they're asked. This is one of the most important things they would have to do.
  9. Fear over losing the Senate. Also many of the GOP senators are getting exactly what they want with Kavanaugh so don't want to give him up. Also he's Trump's get out of jail card.
  10. It will never stop being weird to me to interview the guy in charge of running the Democratic party presidential primary & campaign questions about anything else as if he leads the whole party.
  11. #actually a week is quite a lot of time Even just a few days would be a lot. The FBI has a lot of investigators.
  12. Thanks; unemployment has always negatively affected my presence for some paradoxical reason.
  13. There's plenty to complain about regarding his committee vote since they no longer have subpoena power because of it. He did give up levers he would have had to force this other than his vote. But it's not nothing.
  14. I think it's cynical when someone treats their skepticism as fact when there's at least some evidence to the contrary. Again, I'm skeptical too but we're not seeing a process that is barreling toward a certain confirmation. Nearly certain maybe, but not completely certain. And let's look at what happened; flake was a certain yes in the morning and then two women bit his fucking head off and he blinked. If those two women allowed their cynicism to defeat them that never would have happened and we would have already had a preening congratulatory speech from McConnell but that's clearly not where we're at. I won't allow myself hope, yet, but I won't let cynicism take me or anyone else down.
  15. And if it doesn't happen then he's invited even more pressure on him and a couple other senators. It could make them more likely to dig in. Again, I get the reasons to be cynical and I'm cautious as well but don't let cynicism rule your life.
  16. Absolutely he's trying to find a way forward, he's open about that. He said explicitly that he wanted to delay for an investigation so that at least the democrats couldn't say there wasn't one.
  17. You think Jeff Flake, with all his talk, isn't trying to parlay to another elective office? Look at how people like Corker folded; that's how you act when you're getting out of politics. Jeff is still trying to please moderates. There's a reason.
