  1. Nikki Haley under pressure from donors to defeat Donald Trump in New Hampshire after Iowa caucus loss WWW.CNBC.COM Nikki Haley is under pressure from some of her wealthiest donors to beat Donald Trump in the New Hampshire primary, or risk losing their support.
  2. Perhaps it would be easier for Biden to beat Trump if you believe the polls. But Trump winning the GOP primary is bad for the nation as he then controls one of the major parties in American politics and the narrative continues. A primary upset would change the dynamics within the party, hopefully having more positive long-term effects. Bottom line is Trump winning the primary is bad for the nation and sets us up for round 2. It’s worth thinking carefully about your position if you’re celebrating a victory with Trump because you speculate it may be easier for Biden to win. That’s a dangerous game to play.
  3. The fact it’s so close for Haley for 2nd and she is currently 3rd is a bad sign, but I’m not sure which votes are still out. What’s clear is the GOP really loves Trump.
  4. Haley and DeSantis are fighting for 2nd, each with around 20% with 38.4% in.
  5. She just needs to take second at around 24% for it to be a ‘win’. NH is the real test for her.
  6. I mostly agree. The big jump was going from SD with analogue signals to digital and HD. We have a Sony 4k 65 inch (950g I think) in one room and an old HD 40 inch Samsung in our living room. We end up watching most of our tv on the old 40 inch. I need to swap them out but just don’t care!

  9. Just a few days earlier, they had this article: Why Haley Won’t Break Through - POLITICO WWW.POLITICO.COM Today’s GOP is split along class lines, and her college-grad supporters aren’t the majority.
  10. How Nikki Haley Just Might Beat Donald Trump - POLITICO WWW.POLITICO.COM Here’s the path for a Nikki Haley upset.
  11. It's not likely, but it's possible to happen one day in the future. To be clear, I was talking about restricting speculative ETFs that are highly leveraged and extremely complex. I'm perfectly fine with ETFs that hold stocks and bond indexes unleveraged. They empower individuals in our system. As for why it's so volatile, that's pretty complicated. It has a lot to do with liquidity/24 hour trading, low regulations, and the purely speculative nature of what it is. I don't know if it's worth bothering trying to dissuade people you know from investing in it unless they have nearly all their money in it and are borrowing money to invest more. If it continued to go up, you would get the blame for convincing them to get out. Most people probably wouldn't listen anyway. Also Bitcoin and Ether seem to be the "safest" to put money in in terms of it not going to zero because they are the 1st and 2nd most popular crypto. Any of the other little coins could go to zero a lot easier.
  12. Yes, but perhaps this is an argument to not allow a lot of the super high risk ETFs and funds out there rather than to allow crypto ETFs. It gives legitimacy to an "asset" class that for a variety of reasons, we should all be skeptical of having long-term value of any kind.
  13. Christie caught on hot mic: Haley is ‘gonna get smoked’ - POLITICO WWW.POLITICO.COM The former governor made some interesting revelations right before dropping out.
  14. I'm hoping Haley comes 2nd well ahead of DeSantis. That would get the momentum going.
  15. I haven't been able to stomach giving her any money, but she has my vote in the Texas GOP primary if she's still in the race when it's time to vote here.
  16. Trump vowed he’d ‘never’ help Europe if it’s attacked, top EU official says – POLITICO WWW.POLITICO.EU ‘By the way NATO is dead,’ the former (and potential future) US president added in private meeting.
  17. CNN Poll: Haley trims Trump’s lead to single digits in New Hampshire | CNN Politics WWW.CNN.COM Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has trimmed former President Donald Trump’s lead in the Republican primary race in New Hampshire to single digits, according to a new CNN Poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire.
  18. I was taught in a dual credit college course on American History that it was a states' rights issue. My professor had a large confederate battle flag in his yard.
  19. There was a massive flu outbreak in my nieces’ school recently. They sent around 30 kids home, which is about a third of the school. My younger niece is doing better now, but had temps in 102-103 range for three days. I got my flu shot back in August and so far I’m good. Looking at a novavax booster in January. My August covid round is probably weakening. I still mask at airports, on planes, and other large events.
  20. I’m unconvinced Haley would enact Project 2025, but it’s possible. I’m absolutely convinced Trump would. I believe Biden will lose to Trump, so if Haley pulls off some sort of improbable primary upset, I’ll take it even as I disagree with her on a lot of issues.
