It is sold out on Amazon. It’s still available at other places. Google Express Checkout is having a promotion that lets you save $20 (code: Holiday18).

I got it from Amazon yesterday.  They say it's arriving Wednesday but it hasn't shipped yet.  I hope this order doesn't get canceled either.

    Sold out again LOL.

Well, I think it's a good sign they decided to put it back in stock a day after I placed my order that mine won't be cancelled.  I don't mind waiting a few extra days for it to ship.

Check it out.  Read the comments as there appears to be a few more promo codes you can use if you can't get it to work as the OP directed.

If anyone is a vet and already has a Pro, I might be interested in having you order this for me and of course I'll reimburse you with Paypal.

The update has improved the initial issues. Not sure how many updates have been released since then but for the most part comparing a $500 game console vs a $500 dedicated UHD player the dedicated player is always going to be better. For the most part in my experience the UHD playback is more than satisfactory.

I wonder how the ~$200 X1S would compare to cheaper UHD players.

theres some poor vs pro info in this thread (scroll down a bit for the psvr section)

On paper that seems like a pretty drastic difference, especially in terms of resolution and anti-aliasing.  Hmm, well I think I'll still get a base PS4 and test it out myself.  My buddy has a Pro so I'll be able to do a real life comparison and judge for myself.  I can always upgrade to a Pro next year or whenever they drop the price - or hell maybe the headset will work with a PS5 in 2020!

  5. If they were to do a classic from this generation, do you think they would include online multiplayer and host some servers (for the ones that need it)?  Because that would be pretty awesome.

    So I nominate....

Christ, Splinter Cell 1 & 3 were so, so, so fucking good back in the day, wonder how they hold up today after having played MGSV for example.

I always remember being blown the fuck away by the lighting and shadows in Splinter Cell when it came out.

I tried to go back and play 3 years ago - after Blacklist or Conviction - and you notice the difference.  The game just feels more barren and limited.

  6. Ya know, the Astro Bot/Moss PSVR bundle will also be $200 for Black Friday.  Is that worth picking up along with a base PS4?  Is the Pro required for any PSVR games out now?   For under $400 I can get a base PS4, Spider-Man, Astro Bot, Moss, and VR bundle.  That seems like one hell of a deal, and I've been itching to try VR for MY FIRST TIME EVER!

Or should I save my money for a Rift/Vive on my GTX 980 Ti PC?

  7. Choose the upgrade path for the Micro Missiles on the assault rifle as soon as you can.  Those things are deadly even in late game.

Also I hope you don't come across the same bug I did.  I killed every demon in the level, but the music was still playing and the locked door wouldn't open up.  Had to restart the level and kill everything again.  I'm guessing one of the demons glitched through a wall or something, as the AI can be pretty dumb sometimes.

  8. Microsoft needs to get their shit together with Windows 10.

I just came across a performance killing bug that's been bothering me for the last two months.  I was about ready to buy a new CPU and mobo because I was having odd stuttering in my games, framerate was crap, and CPU usage was pretty high.  Turns out if you have the Windows Update option to download via P2P - either over the Internet OR over your local network (your machines that have already downloaded the update can share those files locally) - it was causing the runtime broker process to randomly spike in CPU usage.  Now I didn't really notice a performance hit under desktop use, but it was noticeable in gaming in either overall shitty framerates or random, short duration drops (particularly when the scene changed rapidly).

What also bugs me about 10 is the settings menus.  They need to consolidate that shit and have these settings in places that make sense.  Some shit is under the control panel, some shit is under the new settings menu, and what you think might be in a certain place is not there.  There are also too many sub-trees and you click through too many menus to find a page that has one setting that you need to change.  No, fuck that, put that one setting along with every other related setting on one fucking menu page.
