Even my toes are sad at knowing this exists in the world.

With the dark dullahan, its the sunrise that is the real enemy.

There is something about the animation in this game that is both stiff and floaty at the same time, which while not desirable, is impressive!

I haven't gone back to it but I think the problem with the Archer class is that at the very beginning of the game with like no levels, no skills in the class yet, and basic equipment it does in fact suck donkey dick. But later once you have some levels, level up the class, and some decent gear sounds like it gets a lot better.
I had a similar thought as I probably had a much better experience than most because I had the levels, the money, and the teleportation ability to jump around, get he best gear for the class, an d level all that gear up pretty quickly.

I saw some archer hate but I think it's one of the cooler classes. It was really fun to play in 1.
For my money, its just the most fun to play. Not the most durable, but is a range fighter so who cares. Can handle air based enemies easily, which greatly reduces the annoyance of getting double teamed by air and land enemies simultaneously. For close quarters combat, your archer has a kick attack and its actually pretty powerful and often stuns enemies or knocks them down, which is great for leapers and rushers. Everything I've just described are basic functions o the class, not special skills or an ultimate. Add a mage, sorcerer and a warrior and you'll be dropping drakes with no issues.

I maxed fighter last night and I'm playing around with the mystic whatever. Jedi class basically. I like it. I think I want to try archer too.
Archer feels the best too me, even more so then the magical archer. All the kids laugh at me though and I look dumb in my robin hood hat.

I don't get knocked down often at all. I'm level 31 close to beating this.
Huh, odd. I was constantly getting rolled as a fighter, but not so much as a warrior, must be me!

Fun tale: Last night my 3 pawns were all following me as they do, when I turned an noticed that they had red eyes! The PLAGUE! So I did what any good master would do, I picked each one up in turn and hurdled them off a near by cliff. The last one said, "Did I do something wrong Arisen?!" You were to beautiful for life my friend, I whispered into his trusting loyal ear and then lofted him to his water doom...

So how is that different than fighter?
Not getting knocked down every 5 seconds.

Dragon's Dogma can and does alternate from amazing to infuriating on a regular basis. I can't think of a game that I both love and hate in such prefect symmetry!

Anyone try Mystic Archer yet? That's supposed to be a significant upgrade over the regular archer.
Its next on my list! I'll know more in a few days.

So decided to be a hypocrite and be an archer again. Shit is OP. Especially if you get a mage who puts the electric and speed boon on you. Electric explosive arrows damn! Downing monsters very quickly. Heck took down a griffin in less than a minute.
I guess it helps I have some op sorcerer that has this tornado spell too.

The Warrior is slow but man does it destroy enemies. I’m going to enjoy leveling this up. Once you unlock vocations you can switch back and forth right? Like if I wanted to go back to Thief sometime later?
You can, and in fact if you unlock the Warfarer class, you can switch between multiple classes. The down side is you can't use ultimate skills, but so far, I don't find the ultimate skills to be worth the trade off as they often require the consumption of your entire stamina bar to execute damage equivalent to 2 of the class skills.

Wow surprising. I don’t even want an archer Pawn in my party lol.
Me either, and I only took up the class to round out my Warfarer class, only to discover that I actually enjoyed it more. I’m taking down drakes more easily now that I’m sniping the heart while the pawn warrior takes the beating I use to take. Then a mage and sorcerer round out the team for heals and the occasional meteor shower. I’ve cleared 15 drakes now with this approach, feels good!
I should add that this is the first time I’ve ever enjoyed a ranger/archer type in an RPG.

After a staggering amount of play, I prefer the archer over all classes except maybe the magical archer as I haven’t tried that class yet.
