      D1Pcast Episode 28: The 2017 E3 Review Show (Recording June 23 - share your E3 impressions!)   06/01/2017

Now that E3 2017 has concluded, the D1Pcast crew will be recording its impressions of the show on Friday June 23 at around 6:30pm Eastern time.  Like we did for the preview show, we'll run through each conference and give our thoughts on the good, bad, and the wonderfully inexplicable (Devolver Digital - I'm looking at you!).   We're very much interested in hearing your thoughts and impressions about this past E3, so feel free to share them in this thread.  Or -- even better! -- if you'd like to join us for this episode, we'd love to have you on the show!  The more, the merrier as we put a capstone on our E3 2017 coverage!

  1. You know, at the time I first played MGS3, I was a little put off by this theme, but I fuckin' love it now. Kojima is a master of his art.
  2. I'ma go make one doe
  3. Yeah, thanks man, it really is a nice piece of hardware. It was the Plus games that did it. SomeOneInAHat gave me a 1-month code and I started checking and purchasing everything through the webstore.
  4. I just got a Vita and went with a 4 GB on the cheap, waiting to see if they announce a larger card. Also, Amazon's had the 32 GB new for around $80 recently.
  5. You are number 6.
  6. Stephen, you're definitely on to something with the Call of Duty factor. Peak population nearly halved at Black Ops 2 release. There's a Christmas bump and that's it. Map packs had no significant effect. Steadily moving downward. Just note that these aren't players-per-day. 343 Industries hasn't provided those statistics (Bungie had them for Halo 2, 3, ODST, and Reach). How are RaisetheKnife and GeneticBlueprint doing?
  7. Retail comparison: Xbox 360 4GB Slim Console w/Kinect Sensor: $300 Xbox LIVE Gold 1 Year Subscription Card x 2: $120 1Yr Extended Warranty for Xbox 360 Console: $25 1Yr Extended Warranty for Kinect Sensor: $25 Total: $470 compared to an alternative retail payment plan which provides the same products and services for $100 down + $15/month for 24 months: Total: $460. What a rip-off!
  8. As long as the base mechanics remain similar, we'll enjoy Halo 4. Most of these points are upsetting to fans because they feel that Reach already deviated too far from the basic game, and these seem to progress beyond Reach. But I'm not so particular. I've enjoyed just about any gametype in any online Halo game.
  9. Sorry mang, took you off during your PlaygroundPredator phase. Too much.
  10. My point is that it's a fruitless endeavor to debate someone that makes up their own facts and employs fallacies in their arguments. This has been my experience arguing with you guys in the past. Maybe you've changed. Again, you don't know what you're talking about. The current population numbers reported by each game are recorded differently, Reach's counter is much more accurate than Halo 3's. Halo 3 actually over-reported the current number of players at a given time (it had a sample window of hours). What you need to do is compare the 24 hour counts on Bungie.net, and you'll find that they're remarkably similar.
  11. Man, you are fucking thick-headed, so I'll spell it out for you: There was no "sharp decline" in Reach's population. Most popular online multiplayer games go through a decline after release. Reach's decline was no more drastic than Halo 3's. This is a myth perpetuated by stupid Bungie.net users, and we know you've alluded to them in the past. And saying that a decline in the population is evidence that "a lot of people weren't happy with Reach" is equally moronic. Perhaps they just aren't that into Halo? Perhaps they played through the campaign, played some multiplayer, got all the achievements and then traded it in? There are plenty of people that don't like Reach, all you have to do is go to a Halo-related forum to find evidence of that (you'll also find people that think Halo game X was better than all the others, where X is any Halo game). Let's leave the statistical analysis to statisticians.
  12. It's not your style that I have a problem with, it's the falseness of your content. I haven't even read this thread, just going on prior experience. Maybe someday I'll be bored enough to pick it apart, but I mean, of how much worth could such a task be? You'll just dismiss my points with a strawman or some other fallacy.
  13. This GeneticBlueprint guy posts like a passive-aggressive hypocritical asshole...and yet I still don't like him.
  14. Man those population numbers really took a dive in Reach compared to Halo 3. Source: My ass.
