The Supreme Court May Preemptively Ban a Federal Wealth Tax

Recommended Posts

“If the courts confirm the Sixteenth Amendment’s limited reach now, that would relieve them from having to do so in a politically explosive case directly challenging a wealth tax,” the two lawyers concluded. “The courts would do well to remind Congress at this opportune time that its taxing power is not without limits.”

A wealth tax IS unconstitutional.  I'm sort of glad that this will (hopefully) get ironed out before we spend years of litigation after such a scheme is put into place.

More taxes without going after the exploitable loopholes make no sense anyway. The system is rigged already, fix that.

I used pre existing capital losses to wipe away a fair amount of capital gains a few years ago. The whole thing is a joke.
