  1. I bought Pikmin 4 today. I’ve had a strange relationship with the series. I love the premise, but the gameplay has never really matched up with what I hoped. This apparently streamlines and irons out the issues with 3, keeping the overall charm. Either way, it’s been a classic slow start, but I can see the systems in place that are coming and I’m liking it. I just hope I get a way of returning Pikmin to me after doing a job without having to literally go and collect them.

  2. More Zelda, I’ve started to get the Fierce Diety Set, which I’ll upgrade to level 2. Then, using a guide as I don’t care at this point, I’ll get myself a load of Shrines and upgrades and think about the end game.

  3. Now Pokemon is done, I’ve got a gulf in my life so I’ve dipped back into Tears of the Kingdom. I’ve just got the Master Sword and now have the vaguely overwhelming task of getting suitable armour, weapons, stats, meals, general upgrades to be ready for the endgame.

I think I’ll buy something a bit more streamlined tomorrow that I can play over the Easter holidays - I keep returning back to Mario RPG and Bayonetta 3 (which I still haven’t grabbed) so maybe I’ll get them tomorrow.

  4. Bit of a shocker this is my first completed game this year.

    Pokemon Violet: B-

At no point would I say this was a great game, it ran like shit, the story wasn’t overly interesting l, and the world was dull but…it did enough to make me want to finish it. I’ll never touch it gain however and unless Pokemon has a major revolution, I probably wont come back to the series unless they pull on the nostalgia.

  5. I’m on holiday so I’ve brought my switch with me and cracking on with Pokemon Violet. I’ve finished all the gyms, found all the herbs, and have one Star base to go. I just want to level up a Dratini into a Dragonite, then I’ll see out the various storylines.

Update: just been levelling up and now my whole team is between 62 and 68. Probably time to go fight the end bosses and then delete this silly, silly game. Might go back to Tears of the Kingdom and wrap that up, or make an equally silly move and play Paper Mario, Banjo Kazooie, or Majora’s Mask and try and compete them for the first time ever.

  6. I woke up on Sunday with my body aching, sore throat, very tired - and thought it might be a hangover (though my alcohol intake wasn’t exactly hangover related worthy). Carried on all day then at 4pm staring to fee really shaken and cold - so had a nap and woke up worse. I slept about 12 hours last night r still feel achy, massive headache, no appetite….

    Thoughts and prayers please

It's not really a midlife crisis unless you start getting a bunch of stupid tattoos. It seems like everyone's midlife crisis is getting tattoos these days.

Probably worth doing this one too, really make the crisis official

  8. If I was buying new, it would be on finance (so essentially renting) as that comes with free repairs etc in the UK. We’ve bought used and, due to UK law have it checked once a year to ensure it’s road legal (and worthy). Never been an issue really.

Just don’t buy something you can’t cover the costs of massive failure.

  9. At some point, there needs to be an overall conversation and a ‘sorting out’ of lawful ‘preservation’ for media that is not available via a streaming/download service and is also not still being produced physically.

I can understand not being happy about the availability of anything that can be purchased in a manner the IP owner receives money, but everything else, on any platform, if the IP owner hasn’t made it available, should be fair game.
