  1. Physical 100 - netflix

Squid Games meets American Gladiators. Episodes were a bit longer than necessary and anytime something cool happens they have to show a reply of it from 5 different angles which gets annoying. Overall I was entertained mostly from the variety of athletes that were going against each other, not often you will see world's strongest man type vs a dancer or a gymnast vs a MMA fighter.

People were wondering why Beverly killed that person.....what if it wasn't a person? It might not have even been an individual hologram. It could have been Moriarty controlling a hologram on a mobile emitter. It would explain why they speak in clicks despite the UI rarely not being able to catch a language. All theatrics. In fact, all of her villainous theatrics at the end of ep. 2 were pretty reminiscent of Moriarty who himself is literally a villainous literary creation.

I don't have an issue with Beverly killing someone in an extreme situation, she has killed before in TNG. I just didn't like the tone it set for the season to have her John Wick some rando baddie in the first two minutes.

Your hologram theory might be accurate, the villain seemed to have an almost computer like instant knowledge of who she was dealing with on the bridge of the Titan.

Jean-Luc Picard felt more like Picard in this episode than the entire first two seasons combined. Makes me sad how old Patrick Stewart sounds now, it is extreme in his voice.

I still don't like Raffi but her plot this year feels like the most correct use of the character we have seen so far.

Liked this episode more than the first.

  3. House of the Dragon

This show did something difficult, they made an interesting show that I want to watch while having zero likable characters. Everyone is either a piece of shit or they want to have sex with their family members or both.

    Gunther's Millions

If you only watch one docuseries this year about a dog with a $400,000,000 tax evading sex cult trust make it this one.

Ukraine also appears to have pushed the Russians back a bit, south of Bakhmut. It is looking more and more like the Russian offensive is a dud.

open source info on that missile's range is all over the place from 155 miles for an export version to 870 miles for a ship launched version, even at the low range that is going to put a lot of bases in range especially in the south. If it is near the high range Ukraine can really reach out well into Russia or go after the Crimean bridge

  5. Important thing to note when watching season 3 is that there is a 10 year time jump between season 2 and 3 that isn't really made clear. So this is set about 32 after the events of Nemesis which is necessary for some of the ages of the new characters to make any sense at all.

Fans - "well the first 2 season were kind of shit, hopefully they will give us a nice bright optimistic look at the future to close the series out"

show - "we are going to have DOCTOR Beverly Crusher straight up execute some dude in the opening scene"

I know the reviews have been pretty positive on this season even from critics that disliked the first 2 but I am not getting the warm and fuzzies based on the first episode even with the mountain of fan service they threw out there.

  6. Andor

I loved it. I can't really pinpoint what it is, the show has a very unusually quality about that I have a hard time describing, just the ordinariness of how everything feels. No Skywalkers, no force, no saving the whole galaxy just a group of mostly ordinary folks put into something they really didn't sign up for and on the other side no Emperor or Vader just some middle management officers.

  7. I honestly have no idea what nvidia and amd are doing this gen. It seems like the options are go sell a kidney and buy a 4090 or say fuck off and buy a PS5, the performance bump on 4080/4070 vs previous gen is not worth the cost. AMD is a bit better but still overpriced by at least 25%

dammit. I already wear glasses so I hate seeing movies in 3D

this movie is go see it on the biggest 3d screen you can find or don't go see it. The spectacle of the experience is much more important than the plot/characters/usual movie components. It really is much an amusement park ride as it is a movie.
