I finally got around to start playing D4 a months or so ago. I did the campaign on the eternal realm and though it was just ok. I decided I would give the game one more chance to grab me and rolled a new character on the seasonal realm and skipped the campaign and I am having significantly more fun this way. I am not power gaming and looking up the most perfectly optimized build, just doing what seems right as I go. I am using a chain lightning sorcerer and have made it world tier 4 and am still enjoying it, the vampiric seasonal powers are a fun addition.

I don't think the economy is really that bad.
I just think home interest rates are too high.
Jobs are plentiful but people are struggling more and more it seems. Wages have not come close to keeping up with costs, many things you need to live or function in society(food, housing, car) have gone up dramatically in the last few years especially once you factor in interest payments that most people will have to make on the big ticket items.

I blame the invention of TL;DR
this unquestionably has something to do with it, our attention spans are trash nowadays and it is even worse for kids.

It really doesn't help that as a parent you need to basically take a course yourself to understand how they are teaching kids math year to year, as the methods keep changing.
my friend teaches 5th grade math and he was showing me how they do things now and I wanted to scream. The kids have to draw a cube to represent each 1000, a square for every 100 and the use vertical lines for single and double digit numbers but they do them as just a string of vertical dashes not as tally marks where you do 4 and then cross through it with the 5th dash so you can have neat groups of 5, it was just a string of vertical lines so it looks like this 1111111111111111111111111111111111.
HOW THE FUCK IS THIS AN EFFICENT SYSTEM?!?!?!?!?!

This looks shockingly good even by the standards of the studio and time/budget they have
-
the part that made me feel the show was in the right hands was the "studio behind free 2-day shipping" that just clicks so well into the hyper-capitalist pre-nuke Fallout world that it is perfect

Will be interesting to see how many of "colleagues" follow them to MS

That Swerve/Hangman match is going to go down in the annals, that thing was at an 11 on the violence scale in the first 2 minutes and didn't stop

I hate my state government so much. Let's see what should the AG go after, violent crime, rampant corruption in the state and local governments... nah. Pepsi making plastic bottles that's clearly the source of all the problems in this state

Binged both seasons this past week and it was excellent! Really enjoyable all around - great visualizations for fights, etc. when online and solid character storytelling. A couple of unbelievable contrivances surround the kids but otherwise no issue. The show definitively ends so that was nice, no cliffhanger for a season 3 that's never coming. Need some clarification on some stuff that happened at the end of the second season though: @elbobo @Hurricane Game
So was what we've been watching from the beginning of the show a simulation? Or was what we saw the first run before Maddie uploaded herself, left Earth, and became a God who creates a Dyson Sphere running human simulations herself? I was confused on this point and the montage they provide when the episode is time jumping at the end don't make this clear - she clearly took a ship and left but what happened to Earth and all the characters we were watching? If that was one of her simulations that she's chosen to step into, then where's the original Earth with the original versions of the characters? There must have been one for SafeSurf to contact them 43 millions years from the future.
I am not sure but I am leaning towards yes it was some layer of a simulation which seems like it would cheapen everything but the show really pounds home the idea over and over again that all life is life whether it biological real humans, UIs, CIs(not sure why they don't call them AIs), they are all as real as one another so it shouldn't matter to us an audience if what we saw was the real world or layer 4578 of a simulation it was real to the characters

Do we expect Amazon to release it everywhere else anytime soon?
not a clue, it seems odd they would only purchase the rights for such a small territory. There must be something weird going with the ownership or distribution rights of the show.
I did some reading up last night on the show and found out why portions of it gave me just a Three Body Problem vibe, Ken Liu who wrote the short stories that Pantheon is adapted form was the english translator for three body problem books

@elbobo - you're the second person in as many days to recommend this show!
2nd season came out just a couple weeks ago so it's still fresh

This is the smartest most original scifi shows to appear on television in a LONG time. I don't want to give anything away because this show goes places especially at the end of season 2 but this is some of boldest leaps I have experienced in scifi, we are talking end of the 3 Body Problem book series level leaps, you are not going to be bored watching this show.
Finding a way to watch it may prove difficult. The first season was on AMC+ so all 6 people that subscribed to that service could watch it, then they "canceled" it even though the entire second season was done, complete and ready to go. Amazon thankfully bought it but for some insane reason it is only available in Australia and New Zealand and VPNs won't let you get around it so you will have to use other methods but trust me go find it.

Is this the current worst performing game out there?

I've been half heartedly looking for a used car for 6 months and had just about given up and was getting ready to get a new one because used prices were absurd, just in the last couple of weeks have I noticed them finally start to move down, still have 20-30% to go to get to where they should be but they are moving in the right direction.

seriously though how is anyone expected to buy anything now
Yeah I am at the point in my life where I will hopefully never have to take on debt again but with current costs of homes/Cars combined with the relatively high interest rates anyone starting out is completely fucked for the foreseeable future

I finished it a few days ago and generally liked it. I have no knowledge of the source material other than that it is obscenely long.
My question is how dumb/naive is Luffy supposed to be? Best case he comes of with a childlike naivety other times I found myself wondering if the character was genuinely mentally handicapped
