I have several friends that love to bet on sports, these friends are also usually strapped for cash.

Late Night with the Devil
The concept is solid but it just did not come together for me at all. The first and last 10 minutes are particularly egregious, starting with 10 minute straight exposition dump and ending with a "dream" sequence. -
The back half of this interview is absolutely manic

I watched the first episode, they could not have nailed the aesthetic anymore if you gave them another 10 years to work on it

Punk looks bad, was unquestionably the aggressor and likely deserved to be fired since it was his second backstage fight but it's so weird for AEW to release the footage after 8 months and to try and make a plot line out of it for the Bucks.

If you spent even 30 minutes having a continous conversation with one of the current LLMs you know it turns to gibberish before long if you don't actively steer it back on track and even then sometimes you just have to start over

yeah Amazon has been promoting this show HEAVILY, they definitely weren't going to call it quits after just one season regardless of the reviews/viewership.

Saturday and Sunday totally sunny, Monday was completely overcast to the point where you couldn't even tell where the sun was, today back to 100% sun
-
It's so cloudy I can't even tell where the sun is right now. It's just getting darker out
-
The exact center of the path of totality is going to pass less than 4 miles from my house. It was completely sunny Saturday and Sunday, they are calling for clouds and maybe rain at eclipse time today of course.

haven't watched a WM since they split into two nights, how long are these shows with only 6-7 matches per night? Seems like it would be a 3 hour or less show

The Marvels
I've been kind of checked out on the MCU for a while now, I watched most the recent movies except for Antman 3 but I had no clue what was going on in half this movie, was a lot of the backstory and characters covered in a show I skipped? I didn't have an issue with the odder parts of the movie surprisingly like the musical planet or the Cats sequence, comics are silly so its fine.

How is ANYONE keeping aircraft outdoors at this point. A reinforced hanger is vastly cheaper than a modern fighter.
Honestly if the US airforce isn't taking notes even for lower 48 based aircraft they are being straight up negligent.

Also, the company's accountants indicated that the severity of the losses raises substantial doubt about its ability to continue as a going concern.
That's why you get a bunch of cult members to invest in an IPO

Finished it up earlier today. I thought they did a pretty good job adapting a very challenging piece of literature but no where as difficult as book 3 will be. Only thing that bugged me was so many important characters knowing each other/being close before the story kicks off, makes the world unnaturally small especially for such a huge story.
book vs show thoughts below, spoilers
The VR stuff was going to be the hardest part of the 1st book to adapt, some parts I thought they did a really good job with like the dehydration, I always had a tough times picturing that in my mind's eye. I wish they had done more with the human computer though, I know they weren't going to do a 25 minute dissertation on logic gates but they gave us essentially nothing. I don't see how a non-book reader could have possibly figured out how that was supposed to be working.
The buff they gave to the sophons though is going to be huge problem for later seasons. In the books they could mess with the results of particle accelerators and be a near omnipresent spy but that was about it. In the show they can manipulate electronics and computers... well pretty much all human technology uses computers and electronics. Once they get to the deterrence era all a sophon has to do is mess with the "sword" so it can't trigger a transmission and that is game over for humanity. -
OpenAI and Microsoft reportedly planning $100 billion datacenter project for an AI supercomputer | Tom's Hardware
WWW.TOMSHARDWARE.COM
It would be called "Stargate."This would easily be an order of magnitude more expensive than any other datacenter on Earth

Barbarian
I don't know if I have ever seen a movie fall apart so hard in the second half, it honestly feels like two scripts were jammed together to make one movie. The first half was a great tense "what is going on here" psychological horror and the 2nd half is just trashy monster movie.

Seems like an insane overbid for what they are getting

Argylle
how in the absolute fucking hell did someone approve $200,000,000 to make this abomination. Honestly one of the worst most disjointed movies I have seen in years.

No idea how this would work for people that work on commission or tips

Has amazon done an all episode drop for a big show before? Can't tell if that is a good or bad sign.
Trailer looks good to me though.

American Fiction
Strong dialogue throughout and a plot that has some predictable elements but I couldn't figure out where it was going to end up
