I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that the cop that shot Ashli Babbitt (along with the other cop that managed to distract other protestors from an open doorway that led to congress) may have literally saved democracy in the USA.

Trump is literally like the only thing that ties any of these people together.
That article is pretty sad. Yeah, Ashli Babbitt made her bed, but it sounds like the rest of her family and friends weren't really into the whole Qanon thing but just kinda tolerated it from her, and now they have to deal with the consequences of her actions.

I think I only played Civ 2 and Alpha Centauri.

Of all the people why the fuck would Meghan “my father” McCain jump on this train? Sniffing Trump’s farts is that important to her?

So Birx said there could be a new variant, but other people from the CDC say no new variant has yet been identified. I don’t really get how that’s even inconsistent?

If Trump accelerated the collapse of the republic that would be the one good thing he did.

At this point... No one knows. There is "no smoking gun" for any of the theories.
Oh look, AP spreading propaganda.

Trump is calling for peace in a video...but is saying the election was stolen. Says it was taken away from him, was fraudulent. But please go home.
He didn’t just say the election is stolen and go home. For anyone that can’t watch the video that really minimizes how bad that statement was. He spends like 90% of the time talking about the election being stolen and how horrible it was. Telling people to go home is basically an afterthought to him.

Oh look. Looting the government is A-Ok. It's grocery/shoe stores that actually get you shot.
imagine living during the one time when it would seem completely innocent to wear a mask and still refusing to do so while committing a crime.

Except the vast majority are law abiding gun owners.
There are millions of interactions every year where at least one person has a gun, and it never gets pulled out. The media never reports things that went well.
Same as cops. All cops are bad!!! But actually there are Millions of interactions every day between police and citizens, and 99.9% are without issue. The media doesn't report them.
That doesn't mean we shouldn't screen better, or make stronger laws, but far too many get demonized for the actions of a few.
That said, there are some very problematic police forces, and that shit needs to be rooted out.
Police don't need defunding, they need proper training continuously, instead they get a short course and periodic assessment. At least 20 percent of their time on duty should be training. Threat assessment, target acquisition, kickboxing, BJJ, deescalation techniques, regular psych evaluation. The 20% training has been proven to be the best for continuous development of skills in long term, high stress jobs.
Actual percentage of training after becoming a cop? A few hours a year. It's a complicated issue that isn't solved by the "acab" ridiculousness. The people are being failed by the police, and the Frontline police are being failed by politics and beaurocracy. Most of the cops who have killed on the job would never have done so with proper, continued training.
Got a little off topic there, but I find people try to tie complicated subjects up into neat little bows that don't fit reality.
a little bit sensitive?

Anecdotally speaking, as Inuk and I drove to and from FL over my Christmas holiday, there were significantly fewer displays of pro-Tump/GOP support (bumper stickers, billboards, etc.) in Georgia than there were in Florida, South Carolina, or North Carolina (Florida had the most BY FAR).
The only political billboard I saw in Georgia was one for Warnock.
pic of inuk?

Damn you’re right, I somehow thought there was only two pages. I apologize.

That’s not data that’s a press release.
I would’ve thought the Brits would’ve learned by now not to fuck around with this virus, but I guess not. I hope my government tries to adhere (as closely as reasonably possible) to Pfizer’s recommendations.

The point is the efficacy is so strong after the first dose that we will save many more lives this way.
There’s no evidence of that...
