  1. Can you make a clear comparison as 'evidence' so to speak? As in, a sound file comparing sound on his previous work versus this one and so forth? I don't know shit about the film industry, but it seems like it'd be nice backup if you're going to call him out.

The guy sounds like a total twat, that's for sure. Even if you want to believe all that, keep it out of your workplace and just don't work on that project.

  2. I can't do it either. That's why I drop so many games in their last acts actually. I play like a maniac if I like it and then burn myself out and lose interest.

I'd say half of my games are unfinished with a save somewhere in the last quarter or something. It's pretty annoying really because obviously I'm not going back to the convoluted full-time jobs a lot of modern games have become like eight months later and just picking up and playing. Shame on me.

I actually just tried to replay DMC3 and Ninja Gaiden Black at the same time because my PS3 controller was worn out and DMC3 had to be put on hold for the weekend. I kept confusing their combat systems and totally sucked at both afterwards.

  3. Every time I think of utterly infuriating 'lulz watch our shitty C-grade movie instead of actually playing' nonsense, I think of Max Payne 3.

There's great gameplay in there but sadly only 10 seconds at a time after approximately 20 minutes of unskippable cutscenes per 10 seconds of gameplay. What a train wreck.

  4. I don't mind infrequent and short ones to break things up a bit here and there but man, few things baffle me more than games that insist on constantly taking away control from me.

Forced walking sections and the "Hollywood Blockbuster" syndrome both frustrate me massively.

  5. I'm currently playing through Devil May Cry 3 for the first time in many years.

Still absolutely love the game but that camera is fucking dog shit for a game with such complex controls. I even like fixed camera games, but not when one of your main evasion moves depends on tilting the stick in the right direction and if you fail it just means you jump right into the attack.

I did the Torture Chamber boss fight (Pazuzu?) last night and it took me at least twice the amount of tries because I kept fucking up the dodge roll because I'd roll into a new camera angle and therefore tilt the stick the wrong way resulting in a jump.

DUDE, I remember when people wrote NIOH off after the demo too! I was posting videos of me fighting that boss in the demo trying to show folks how cool the combat was in that game. That's why I already know I'm gonna love this game... I can see the depth in the combat from these videos. This game may be better than Ghosts of Tsushima from a combat perspective based on what I've seen from both so far (even though I'm all over the game too :p) Also we have NIOH 2 coming soon as well... Great time for us old scool Ninja Scroll fans :D

I have problems with quite a few things around the combat in Nioh, but that's hands-down one of the best fucking combat systems I've ever had the pleasure of playing.

I really hope they fix the glaring combat encounter, enemy variety and level design issues in Nioh 2 and don't fuck with the combat much and we have a total winner on our hands. I still love Nioh as it is but yeah, it needs real improvement in those areas in my opinion.

The fact that Sekiro is basically Tenchu with Souls DNA and character action all combined is almost as 'dream game' of a combo as Bloodborne was for me.

Finally watched the video this morning... yeah I'm all over this. I may even get that over priced collector's edition for this.

Make sure to watch the actual Activision video. The quality is bad but oh boy is it a difference play style wise when someone skilled is at the helm. This system is way different than Souls or Bloodborne and looks incredibly tactical and cool.

This game reminds me of when people hadn't figured out Nioh yet and wrote its combat off as some weak Souls clone that went overboard with stamina. WRONG.

And here's some vertical parrying with the ability to bounce off enemies' heads for huge poise damage:
