I didn't really follow all the techy jargon afterwards but yes, you can most certainly play PS1 games on a slim if you have one. I have about 12 classics I still love on PS1 and I frequently pop them in my PS3 slim seemingly without any issues...at least that I notice.

Gameplay- I havent been real impressed with previous entries and this one is no different.It plays pretty much the same.Gather resources,make ammo,kill bad guys is the basic loop. The actual traversal is slightly worse feeling.Crofts model feels very stiff when jumping more so then before its always felt like the engine wasnt build for jumping around,its clunky.

 

Story-From what I ve played ,dont expect a miracle,its serviceable.

Oh boy. Granted I'm not really invested in this game much so whatever in the end, but based on some reviews I was hoping they'd finally nail traversal and platforming with this one a bit. Pass for me since I've ready quite a few folks say this by now. Maybe when it hits like $7.99 at GameStop.

Already ready it my man haha. Ironically, I'm not a huge Punk Rock fan beyond the very early pioneers, or what would be called Proto I guess, like Stooges, Patti Smith, Television etc. 

I really love those bands but have a weird distaste for what the UK iteration of it all did. There's some good music in there for sure but I have a total disinterest in political lyrics and that ridiculous snotty Brit attitude. 

On topic though: I enjoyed that book. There's a very interesting movie that captures that period well called Richy Guitar. I don't even know if it was ever subtitled but I loved this as a kid:

Mr. Skillz, could you be so kind and specifically post some impressions of the platforming/traversal here whenever you get a feel of it?

I've read conflicting statements in reviews in regards to this. It seems everyone mostly agrees that there's a bigger focus on that aspect of TR yet some specifically also pointed out that it doesn't feel too hot. I don't know what to make of that and would be curious to read some actual poster impressions on here.

I would be surprised if this doesn't turn out to be bored suburban teenagers aimlessly shooting a BB gun like thousands of others have before and it just happened to be that the dude's known. 

I can't imagine some enraged ultra-nerd tracking this man's information, travelling there and waiting to strike with...a BB gun. Ultra-nerd crazy would immediately reach for the top shelf of insanity aka an actual gun.

I've actually only played about two or three new (to me at least) games this year I think because of this. I play one SP game at a time until I'm over it/beat it or whatever and am usually tired of video games afterwards. Then after some down time I'll play something else or replay a favorite.

I went mostly vegetarian since last year, gradually, but mainly because I started suddenly finding myself increasingly put off by the texture of meats. I have no idea why and how it happened. 

I'll still have meat once in a while, but quite rarely at this point.

I know, I don't disagree. My point by saying 'model' specifically was simply that they can axe the monster polygon chest and so forth without sacrificing on the original tone in my opinion. There are ways to successfully update that without having it devolve into ultra grim constantly-hold-my-own-shoulders-and-shiver-because-shit-is-so-hardcore nor look-at-my-huge-tits territory.

So I see mentions of more focus on platforming and traversal in general yet many reviews seem to indicate that said platforming is sloppy. What a fucking bummer.

That's the only thing that would've won me over to this series, even if on some discount sale only, but not with typical modern AAA sticky ledge type sloppiness which this reeks of. 

I still have my unopened copy of God Of War sitting there...and I still won't play it any time soon.

Like worse than a student who has never done sound before. She heard his previous work or else she wouldn't have hired him so she's knew what he was capable of. Again, I haven't heard the sound so I don't know how bad it is. Shortly before I posted this I reached out to her because I'm curious to see if it is salvageable or not. 

I meant it as in I wonder if you can splice his previous, and most likely clearly higher quality, work next to a snippet of your sabotaged/fucked up sound as an example to show to people if you wanna indeed put his ass on blast. Any clear evidence helps was my point.

I just don't know if there's a copyright issue with that.
