$400 option? Too bad. Fuck you. Should have given NVIDIA a better competitor.

What if Trump pulls Mueller's clearance?
The investigation will be passed on to someone else.
Also there will be lots of sign picketing.

I think x86 baggage is overblown at this point anyway.
LOL, on MacRumors' forums, all you'll find are these ARM fanboys; suddenly, so many of them are anti-Intel and are dying for Apple to go ARM for everything.
I'm pretty sure they will anyway.

I almost always guess my own state.

That's nice, but it's a little unfair. We're talking RISC here. The whole point of RISC is to be more efficient, without the baggage of x86 support. And the drawback is always the same: you're not going to have nearly the same application support.

I always assumed it was real.

No, it's this:

"Unless someone we like does it. THEN, it's Comedy".
I do think Gunn garners some forgiveness based on the content of his character. And I...actually think that's appropriate.

Wow, that's horrible.

Okay so Roseanne's offense was worse because it was directed at a specific individual? I remember when Sam Bee directed a misogynistic comment at a specific individual not even a WEEK after Roseanne's gaffe and a lot of you defended her as well. The false equivalency seems to be based on whether "If I like the person who does the offensive thing, I will defend them until my dying breath"
We've already established you don't make remarks, joking or not, about races or ethnicities. That's crossing the line.

I will allow for Bond to be from the constituent parts of the United Kingdom, which would allow for actors from England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
But an actor from the bloody Republic of Ireland?!?! That was bullshit and he it showed because he TOTALLY SUCKED as 007.

I don't think AMD could have done it any other way, but it's definitely a disappointment and Intel has a real opening here to offer better all-around performance with their monolothic die approach (for the price of a car).

I honestly don't blame the Sheriff. The fault completely lies with the law and the vagueness of how it can or can't be invoked. A shooter only has to claim he was "standing his ground" and then the case has to be investigated. There might be more nuance than that, but that's the gist.
The impression I got from the Sheriff's statement was that the guy is a shitty person, but if you want things to change then you better review the law.

The 2990WX kicks ass in just a handful of tests, but in applications that use all the threads WHILE needing memory, it completely chokes. The 2950X with half the CPUs doesn't have this problem and so can often beat its larger brother in many productivity tests (and games).

He's a spectacular comedian and was one of my favorites. Nobody is so special as to earn a "comeback" from multiple sexual assaults.
That's a bad comparison anyway.

I'm saying that if Gunn was going around making racist/homophobic right now, then I wouldn't be defending them because that's just gross. Making a pedophilia joke, while gross, doesn't mean you're a pedophile, but if you're going around making racist jokes, well you probably got some racism problems (see Roseanne).
I don't know that there's really any difference (in that you could make racist jokes and not be a racist), but as a society we just decided that racist/homophobic jokes cross the line.

Because he's behind the Guardians movies is why fans are coming to his defense. If Gunn was a nobody he'd not only be universally shamed but probably investigated by authorities. But because some people can't live without their cheesy sci-fi films... The guy said some scummy things in his early 40's...when he was all grown up as he is now. There's no excuse for it and you can try to kill the messenger all you want but the evidence is already there. Now I can see how some of the things he said was him trying to be edgy in Hollyweird but things like when he said how he thought it was great that an animal jerked off on some kid on the set shows the man has no empathy for children. Any future movies the guy makes I hope he won't be directing kids. Not because I think he will do anything to them but because he clearly doesn't care for their well being.
What a bunch of horseshit.

Seems like he's been doing it for so long he doesn't realize what he is doing is wrong, hence why he referred to it as "research", like he thinks it's like being back in school, and you're doing your homework and taking the words out of a textbook, but changing them slightly to make them your own.
That's exactly what it's like. No one told him real life isn't like high school.

Stuff like this can and has been faked with simple texture tricks for ages now. Like PhysX, the performance hit of something like this can be substantial, I fear. Yes, NVIDIA created raytracing units inside the GPU to achieve these effects in an effort to keep the rest of the GPU from diverting resources, but the rendering pipeline still has to wait on those units to finish calculations before outputting a finished frame, which means you can still get nasty stalls.
