  1. Having an xbox and PC adds value it does not make one redundant.  Being able to game on your pc, then walk into the other room turn on your console and seamlessly continue playing the same game is a great feature.  There are absolutely some great games coming out for PS - but the days of those being isolated to the console are ending.  Most of those games will make their way to PC as well.  Sony is following the MS roadmap - they are just a few years behind.

  2. Well you got several 'get a PS5' responses... so I'll tell you to get an xbox series X and subscribe to gamepass.

If you already game on PC you will get access to tons of content on PC with your gamepass subscription.

Plus on the console you will instantly have more games to play on your console then you will ever get to - and that is a pretty great value right out of the box.  Also you will get to enjoy Forza and Halo in the next couple months.

They said there is no permanent death/ko. They are fine after the battle.

You know Marvel would never allow firraxxis to just let heroes die.

This is similar to XCOM: Chimera Squad.  I would assume this game and Chimera Squad will have several similarities.  It is a good game... give it a shot if you haven't.

Characters in Chimera Squad can get knocked out during a mission and can require time in a training room to heal before they can be deployed again.  They can also acquire negative traits from being injured that also require training room time to eliminate that also takes them out of commission for a while.  The training room can also be used on healthy characters to add new positive traits.

Other characters taking up the mantle of established heroes is older than comics and since humans age, it’s going to be inevitable that it happens as long as the MCU keeps chugging along. Might as well lean into it.

And just like comics eventually they will need to wipe the slate and start over.  I don't see that for many years in the MCU but it will be interesting to see how it is handled someday.  If it will be some event that resets a timeline or if they just stop making movies for a while then start over.

I don't want to get lumped in with right wingers here ... but I do feel some of the swapping is just lazy.  I KNOW that there are established characters with their own identities such as She Hulk... but it feels like the next phase is setting up to be

    -female hulk

    -female ironman

    -female thor

    -female black panther

    -female hawkeye

    -black captain America

I really am all for diversity and it looks like they have some great actors for these roles, I just think they could let some of those characters go and give us some real fresh new stories.  Obviously there are still tons of Marvel characters that haven't made it to the screen yet, so I don't know why we need such a rehash.

I'll even add to this that they aren't letting Black Widow go away - just swapping in a new actress to be the new Black Widow.

A lot of people saw Endgame so anyone who who is actually invested enough to care knew that this was coming. But then again, the right wing media will never let a potential culture war go to waist.

I think people are going to be worn out from outrage.  The entire marvel cast is getting either race or gender swapped so people are going to need a lot of protest signs.

I like Marvel enough that I didn’t mind having to watch 3 or so movies a year to keep up. But I’m not sure if I like them enough to also watch every episode of every show in addition to the movies. Keeping up with Marvel is turning into a full time job.

I agree with this, but I have young twin boys that are super excited for everything marvel - so we watch it all together.  Most of them are decent - But I did sleep through a few of the winter soldier shows.

Apparently I’m misremembering the original film as a comedy because that does not look like a sequel to a comedy.

It honestly feels more like a 'stranger things' movie... even aside from the actors.  But that is the current popular tone.  I'm sure there will be jokes.

I believe they know nothing about them until Paul Rudd saw the trap the kid brings into class in the teaser trailer. He tells them who the Ghostbusters are via the YouTube videos you see them watching in the new trailer.

Yea it is a little weird.  If those events happened people would know about it.  It would be common knowledge.  However maybe they are going to lean into the idea that the ghostbusters faked the whole thing somehow to make money and it was a giant scam so the original crew are all discredited.

Always seems a little redundant to buy studios that basically exclusively make games for your platform.

My thought is that it means much more internally than externally.  The studios probably have more stability and money available to them and can take bigger risks.  But it really does not mean much to gamers for now.  I think most people probably assumed that studio already was 1st party.

A free upgrade I would have expected.

But will it be free to install on fresh systems, permanently?  You can install Windows 10 to anything, but if you don't buy it in 30 days you get limited features.  Is 11 the same?

You need a license for windows.  For most people they will receive that when they purchase their device.  If you build a computer you will need to purchase a license separately.

Already saw someone mention Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, so I'll throw in Deathrow for the original Xbox. The style, teams, arenas, and (from what I remember) tight gameplay.

Me and a buddy played this game many nights.  If I remember right the difficulty really ramped up after about game 5 or 6 of the career and I don't think we ever made it past that.  But it was fun.

I recall in the Netflix series “the Toys That Made Us” they said the comic or original story to go out with the toys were much darker than the cartoon show that was made later to sell the toys.

so maybe this could be seen as “going back to the source material”. ;)

I believe (from that show) that when they first were designing the toys they were for the Conan movie... then when they actually saw the movie they realized it was way too hard R to use it to sell toys.

The best bit is how they came up with battle cat.  Literally they ran out of money so they reused a tiger toy from another line - and since it was too big for the he-man characters they just threw a saddle on it.

A bunch of old men yelling at clouds over something not intended for them at all.  If The original space jam came out when I was in my mid-thirties I’d probably hate it too.

It is pretty easy to tell what is garbage and what is quality even if it isn't for you.  This is easy to spot for what it is.  There is much love on this board for a variety of entertainment that is directed at children.

One of plenty of games that I never tried last gen that I can see myself picking up now!

Still, though... backlog is pretty huge.

I got about 30 minutes into it back in like February... and then saw they were doing next gen version of it so I stopped and decided to wait.  Hopefully it is a worthwhile upgrade.
