I'm pretty surprised at this game's initial success given how similar it seems to the COD BR, but I guess being free is a huge draw.

Being free is a big draw but Apex also has more features, faster gameplay, more guns, more skins, an actual roadmap and a tested developer commited to support it for years with a publisher giving them free reign to do what they want. If Apex wasn't free I could see Respawn charging maybe 30 bucks for it because it is just that good.

Also the game has been datamined and apparently Duo and Solo play are in the works.

Solo underperformed because of bad marketing that wasn't helped by a troubled production, a bad release date, and lukewarm reception from critics. Pissy crybabies mad about TLJ hardly had anything to do with it.

Both Captain Marvel and Episode IX are sure to make a lot of money.

Now go back to complaining about SJWs in film series about literal social justice warriors.

Oh come on, you're just copying what someone else said!

You're honestly one of the worst posters on these boards.

And you are honestly thick as a plank. These movies bomb BECAUSE of what happens when you make movies with shitty writing and SOLO bombed! TLJ did not bomb because the movie that came before it was really GOOD.

Now go back to wretching at Larson's toes you closetted foot fetished freaky boy.

1 movie doesnt make up for the years where women at best where just eye candy. Its a fantastic start but its a drop in the hat.

My sister in laws boyfriend explained it this way to me

The difference between Spawn/Blade and The Black Panther is the latter are characters that are black and thats it, you could easly swap in white characters and nothing of value is lost. The Black Panther on the other hand is very much defined as a character based on his his homeland and his "blackness" for a lack of a better term.

Dan O bannon wrote Ripley as male character, Scott went with women to fake out the audience.

What would you think if Ripley was a woman? She would be the last one you would think would survive—she’s beautiful.”

Black skin does not make a black man, hes a humanoid from the planet Socorro, played by a black actor.

Time to cover up the women folk, cant have the men becoming all lusty, they just animals and cant help themselves.

    I laughed.

Yeah The Last Jedi was a complete bomb when it and its associated merchandise made 1.3 billion dollars...

Brie Larson also happens to be a very good actress, and this movie looks like a lot of fun.

The Last Jedi did good at the box office sure but only because The Force Awakens did so well people rushed out to go see it. However TLJ made less money than TFA because word of mouth caught on that it was a sloppy mess. It split the fanbase so significantly that home video sales were weak and the next Star Wars to come out, "Solo", completely bombed. Too bad because Solo was a good movie.

Brie Larson, well she's a bit player at best. Takes small roles in movies everyone forgets she was in and stars in TV melodramas. She comes across as someone's irritated mom and forgettable. There are so many other female Marvel actors who deserve films than "Captain Marvel" who was originally a black female character in the comics who later turned white somehow. I don't care if she smiles or not but Larson doesn't display much of a personality. Dull.

  6. The only "Sexism" attatched to this move is that the terrible Brie Larson is using it as an activist movement instead of a popcorn flick, which is all it is, but it's looking to be a dull one so why not us it that way. There is no sexism in the real world with movie goers. Wonder Woman was phenominal and loved by the masses but gets slid under the rug in gender enpowerment debates. There were idiots out that that did that when Black Pather came out and that movie wasn't bad at all, saying how amazing it was that finally there was a black lead superhero movie while somehow ignoring Spawn and Blade, the latter being far supperior - 3 films and a TV series.

Same with races, women in lead and supporting character roles have always been in film, just look at Star Wars and Alien. Just back then no one was so focused on what was between their legs or what color skin they were born with. They were just cool well written characters. Lando a charismatic character that lit up the screen, he was powerful and commanded a whole city who went on to destroy Death Star II. Then Disney took over and helped create Finn, a bumbling sanitation worker who doesn't do much of anything. Then we have Leia a kick ass leader who can help herself who earned her role, like Luke...then Rey a "mary sue" who's all powerful and skilled right out of the box. Lazy writing and virtue signalling. But Disney is learning that movie audiences are smarter and don't want that crap so these things bomb. Captain Marvel looks to bomb too.

In the end, Captain Marvel looks dull except maybe for the Skrulls, so what else is there to talk about? It's dull as Larson's backside. Wretched as her toes. That's not sexist it's observant. And a pretty good analogy. And given Larson's toxic personality...fitting.

P.S. Male humans talk about female body parts. They're animals. It's natural.

Somebody should tell Digital Foundry. They keep releasing Anthemo demo analysis videos, even had a new one just a day ago. It’s a known old build, that we’re not going to see ever again.

Give them a break, DF is just trying to stay relevant in the sensationalistic outrage cultured youtube lands.

I'm not a BR guy either but the fact that this thing plays for the most part like a Titanfall game (movement, shooting, personality) and it's a lot more fast paced than Fortnite and PUBG it's a major improvement.

Was playing with @Fuhrer D and my nephew and even though we barely would crack the top 10 squad we had a good time. Slowly learning the legends and how to use their abilities, I don't even think I used the ultimates yet. Learning the best places to drop also matters. Rolling as a squad and being able to regenerate teamates makes this a more approachable and tactical BR. We lasted a good while just watching other squads take each other out while we revived and healed our selves  For a F2P game it's pretty fun and I can see myself coming back to this at least for a couple hours a week.

I haven't won a game yet but I did make it to the second spot with just two of us. We spawned in as just two players, I was Lifeline and the other was Wraith. We were randoms, didn't say a word to each other but because of the in-game communication features we worked as a team pretty flawlessly up until the end where the circle was at its smallest. I did the healing as best I could(I was the last to get killed though) and the other player used a combination of the portal and void abilities to create a path for us to get out of many sticky situations. It was a damn good time.
