As conservatives carry on with their outrage over the Barbie movie, Fox News held a fascinating conversation about how the flick is storming the Red states.

  2. Just when I think umps can't sink any lower they eject a player for clapping that an check swing appeal went his team way.

Like DBacks or not. Just setting the bar lower and lower for umpires.

  3. I liked the Diamondbacks vest jerseys from when the team started playing. There really is a jersey right now that I really would go out and buy.  Maybe the Snake Head practice jerseys.

I need to get myself a Trash Pandas cap one of these day.

That said, I have always in general like baseball jerseys because of their simplicity.

The worst part for me is that Boston isn’t a small market team. This is a very rich franchise with a fan base that has grown accustomed to success and it just feels all wrong. A franchise of this caliber shouldn’t be dumpster diving and half assing it.

I’m thrilled Devers is here for the long term, but Bobby Dalbec at SS? Christ almighty.

Got to wonder how much of that is your GM being a dingus.

Least I know that Kendrick is being a cheap ass in an effort to pad his baseball card collection. His whole schtick of revenue neutral never added up to me with how the payroll is damn near the same, but claims each season that the front office could add $30-50 million to the payroll near opening day.

The Red Sox are unwatchable. There is nothing promising about this team. Not pitching, not defense and not even really the offense now. John Henry is a terrible owner.

As a D-Backs fan I will trade you Kendrick for Henry straight up.

I love with the snakes have cooking. Biggest issue is they are in a division with three exceptionally wealthy teams. The expanded playoffs will help though!

Yeah, shame on the whole stadium mess (roof can't be open/closed with fans in the building out of fear the cables will snap and kill people, AC no longer working well enough to cool the building, pipes breaking, video boards requiring daily maintenance to function, ect). The saga between the county and the team has been crazy. Hopefully that situation will get sorted before all this talent actually get into full swing. But between a cheap owner and an unbudging county I don't have high hopes.

  7. I'm hoping for maybe a .500 season. Not really expecting a ton, but my goodness the future for the D-Backs looks hell of bright. People seem to give Hazen crap here and there, but he has really set up the franchise to have a solid pipeline of young talent for a few years. The Carroll signing was also a nice touch, here is to him panning out in the long run.

The desert is a great place to build a city as long as you can recycle the water.  That's what Las Vegas does.  All of the water used indoors is ultimately cleaned up and returned to Lake Mead.  The only water that is lost/wasted is the stuff that is used for irrigation.  If every city that currently gets their water from the Colorado River basin employed the same strategy as the Las Vegas valley, the water issue wouldn't be nearly as bad.

But as you mention, the biggest problem is wasteful agricultural practices.  That has to change - and the two biggest offenders are California and Arizona.

It really is amazing what the Southern Nevada Water District has accomplished. They use fair less than the allotments from the Colorado River and even with the newest provisions are still under the new number. That said, they still are trying to get water from Northern Nevada, which has also seen reserves dry up. I know Lake Lohanton was just a few acre-feet from its kill level this last summer. Hopefully with all the snow/rain we have had the last couple of months it will help. But still it is a temporary reprieve overall.

  9. My current career path is something that my wife and I talked about as more of a legacy career choices where I can hope to leave a mark of some sort with whatever time my health provides. Just trying to help make the world around me a little better is all.

Another article said he was also airlifted so it must have been very bad. I can't get a good idea what happened yet.  To me a snow plow accident would involve a vehicle with a plow.  A snow blower accident I would picture getting your hand chopped off in the front area trying to remove a clog.

Mt Rose Highway is horrible in winter as well. Might be for the best that CareFlight was there and the boo boo bus didn't have to drive it down.
