  1. I really want to call the movie something else, but it would be an enormous spoiler. The good thing about the movie is the crazy shit starts about halfway into it. So it's not just the last 5 minutes.

The bad news is, whoever decided a pinhole flashlight was the way to go should be kicked out of making movies. The "movie" is more of a dramatic audio horror than anything. It takes "can't see shit" to a whole new level.

What I can say about the ending, is that it's a blatant rip off of another movie, and was a cheap way out of explaining the movie. It could have gone in so many other amazing directions *cough* *cough* Cthulhu *cough* *cough*, but took the literal cheapest explanation possible. It would have been better off with no explanation.

    Alternate title:

    Spoiler

    Found Footage Jacob's Ladder

@Emblazondid you end up getting that Terrifier 2 set?

Recently on a whim I picked up both X-Men First Class & Days of Future Past on 4K as well as Speed 4K all for free using points on Amazon, they & the new Zach Snyder/James Gunn Dawn of the Dead 4K should arrive by end of the week. I also ordered on BB the 3:10 to Yuma 4K steelbook as well as pre-ordered the steelbook 4K of Training Day.

Anyone else recently pick up anything they cherish in the physical media space?

You know, I haven't received it yet. I should check on that.

Dr Fate gets a replacement as anyone who watches Young Justice knows but to your point, I think DC knew how weak the character and story was for this movie because it's both a Black Adam movie AND a Justice Society movie. Also in the comics, Black Adam was a villain until recently (probably because of The Rock wanting to make this movie) He was basically Shazam's "Venom", an evil version of main character. I watched this over Thanksgiving with my nieces and nephews and most of them clowned it. There were some decent action scenes in the third act, but the movie was overall pretty weak despite some pretty solid elements. (All of the cast was good and I LOVE the actress who played the mom... I'm thinking she's eventually going to become Isis (Although they'll probably change the name :p)

It was pretty well marketed and The Rock is one of the most reconizable people on the planet. I'm curious to see how well this does on streaming and pay per view. I think it was smart for them to release it for home viewing around Thanksgiving... I expect Wakanda to be on Disney+ around Christmas as well.

That's one of the best things about Dr. Fate, that for some reason DC just doesn't get - none of their heroes are relatable, in pretty much any capacity. Dr. Fate can be anyone - the helmet chooses the hero. There's so damn much they can do with the character.

  4. This movie was terrible. As someone who doesn't read the comics, what, if anything, makes Black Adam different from Shazam? DC also messed up big time not only by not making a movie about its strongest character (Dr. Fate), but also killing him in the same film they introduced him in. And Dr. Fate, as a character is FAAAAAR more interesting than any of the heroes they've made movies about to date.

But Black Adam was just generic and all over the place. Hopefully James Gunn can right the ship, but at this point, I'm not holding my breath.

All Hallow's Eve While watching two children on Halloween night, a babysitter finds an old VHS tape in the kids' trick or treat bag. The tape features three tales of terror, all linked together by a murderous clown. As the night goes on strange things begin to occur in the house. It isn't long before the babysitter learns the horrifying truth... the maniacal clown is slowly working his way into her reality...

Took me all of 45 seconds from when I saw that to when I ordered it.

  7. I've got some really good ones:

    Spectacular Spider-Man #1

Captain America featuring first appearance by Punisher

    Spawn #1

An old Brave & the Bold featuring Batman and Robin

    First appearance of Carnage

Death of Superman in the sealed black baggy

And a number of others I can't think of right now.

I also have a massive amount of Garbage Pail Kids cards. I have an Adam Bomb in mint condition. Very tempted to send it off to get graded.

Terrifier 2 is making history at the box office and history with its insanely graphic violence. Dare you watch the trailer?

Is this true? Is it really that gross?

The first film has a more graphic kill. One similar to the kill in Bone Tomahawk (which is also amazing). Though, all the kills in Terrifier 2 are pretty exaggerated and gory.

This media response is no different than when Saving Private Ryan came out and people were freaking out about the Normandy beach scene.

Season 6 What GIF by The Office

What I meant was, if the movie was called something else, not in the Halloween franchise, and if the supernatural killer was named something else, that had nothing to do with the franchise.

It felt similar to Die Hard with a Vengeance, where the script started as Simon Says, with no connection to the Die Hard franchise, and they shoe horned in Die Hard. Felt like Halloween Ends was written for something completely different, and it's the script they chose to end the trilogy, and shoe horned Laurie and Michael into it.

Oddly enough, DHwaV was also the end to the DH trilogy (at the time).
