I recently read you can use the same camping equipment over and over so no need to have multiple sets. Wish I'd known that 20 hrs ago

There's a quest to start it. I don't want to spoil anything. It did cost $20K though.
OK. Thanks for that. Looking forward to not having to spend 2k to rest and lugging around 50pds of camping equipment

It never gets frustrating with difficulty if that's what you're worried about.
I'm still level 20 and knocking down quests. Having your own house to sleep in instead of spending money at an inn is nice.
I traveled quite a distance for a quest and forgot the item I needed to finish it lol. So I used a ferrystone to warp back to town because I wasn't spending another 30 minutes traveling back.
So.. When where do you get a house

I spent 3 minutes in character creation. My character is perfectly fine. I'm a fighter with a mage.
Same. But more fighter and mage classes open up too so I'll experiment once I get a good handle on combat

I’m not super happy with my character either. Wanna start over together? LOL
Man I'm probably 10-12 hrs in so I'm at the point of no return. Definitely enjoying it but still getting a handle on combat. On DD I was a ranger and this time I'm going fighter so maybe there's a steeper learning curve. It's already clicking all the boxes so I'll just commit and take the good with the bad lol

Your character as the one you made of you at the start? Or are you talking about a Pawn? You can change out Pawns in and out.
The one I made. I'm fickle I guess. I know you can change appearance etc at the capital so I'll just deal with it then. Love my pawn but not sure I want to keep them a mage or go sorcerer when it becomes available

Man, my archer sucks. But I’m gonna ride it out knowing full well there’s better classes. Yep. Gonna die on that hill.
Same. Don't love my character so I'm hoping they grow on me or I'm finding a cliff or a stressed out dragon

What about Rise of the Ronin, Dragon's Dogma 2, and Horizon Forbidden West all at the same time! That's me tomorrow 🤪

I’ll probably cave and get this sooner than later. Reviews and impressions have been a bit better than I expected. But I’m currently dl’ing DD2 so I’m sure I’ll be busy with that for a while. But it’s good to have something to fall back on later. And I’m glad this game is a thing so I permanently delete Sekiro. Good riddance.
Im still somewhat interested. But playing this and DD2 at the same time? That's psychotic

Well my game froze after I created my pawn. I slept in the inn and then it froze. So I load it back up and I'm in the prison cell. So I have to start all over.
Plus, the loading on PS5 is absolutely awful!
It's a known bug from what I've read. Next Gen open world is hard apparently

On PC we were able to create our characters this week prior to the game release tonight
They released the character creator on consoles like 2 weeks ago

Pretty much made my decision for me with this or DD2. This'll be gamepass, PS Plus or major discount before I give it a look

Interesting... my parent's have a Samsung Oled and I've never really been a fan. Those TV's always seem to have a weird green tint to them for some reason.
I like Fextralife too, he's been REAL big on Rise of the Ronin so I have no idea which game I'm gonna focus on... I'm obviously buying both this week even though I should wait. Added to the fact that I've started to dive into my second Cyberpunk playthrough and I really SHOULD excercise some self control
He's been more over on RoR than DS2? I've seen the total opposite from what I've seen
-
Both games will have plenty to offer for fans of their respective genre, settings etc. But now I'm leaning back towards DD2. Early playthroughs I've seen of RoR makes it look like Nioh and Wu Long re skins with re used assets from both games. DD2 on the other hand looks drastically better and improved than DD. Plus I haven't played anything from Capcom in a good while

So last night I decided to do a series deep dive as I love to do on deck and played some of every mainline Double Dragon game. That includes both Arcade and NES 1-3 as those are very different series. I would probably rank them as:
Super Double Dragon > Rise of Dragons > Neon > Advance > 4 > Arcade 3 > NES 2 > Arcade 1 > Neogeo Double Dragon > NES 1 >> NES 3 > Arcade 2 >>>> Double Dragon 5
This one might be better than Super, but I need to play more to see how the loop holds up. But it definitely plays better than any of the other games including Neon.
Double Dragon 5 is sooo bad. I forgot it’s based on the animated cartoon that had nothing to do with the games so it has these weird alien characters. I tried it on SNES but also the JAGUAR version and it’s just such a horrible fighting game. The Neogeo game by comparison is actually pretty good (has nothing to do with 5).
DD4, I almost beat it, and it was worth the $2. It’s not bad and plays better than most of the others. It just is needlessly ugly. The thing is it doesn’t even look as good as DD2/3 on nes. Maybe not even the first nes game. The MC is so low color, I hate it. But the game plays just fine.
DD2 Arcade is just annoyingly designed to get too many quarters. DD3 NES..kind of feels also designed to be unfairly punishing which is dumb since it’s on a console.
Don't forget about Abobo's Big Adventure 😬

OG Bioshock was amazing. But they definitely got worse with every sequel

Thanks but I played it for years back when it released. I know all about it but just forgot some basics. Trust me, I'm not playing it I just wanted to revisit it to see how it aged. I used to play with my twin brother every single night. Great memories.
Well that's good to hear. I put about 300 hrs into it before it just became too consuming. I knew I was never gonna stop playing so I deleted it and never looked back lol

I'm really interested in how Ronin is going to turn out. I can almost guarantee good reviews for DD but if Ronin gets great reviews that would be awful lol. Then I'd have to buy two games in one day.
Exactly but I'll only pick one even if they both get stellar reviews... Hopefully. My willpower has been trash lately

Sounds awesome!
Well it was once upon a time and Squeenix has supported it out the yin yang so it's still a great game but not for the faint of heart

I'm tellin you, you don't want any of FF14. It is a MAAASSSSIVE time sink and requires a monthly subscription to play (or it did anyway not sure if it still does) and the learning curve can be quite daunting to say the least. Confusing menus and tons of info to remember. It is not for casual FF players in my opinion. Just trying to save you some time and frustration
-
I had a giant meat head wizard for my pawn in the first one. He saved my butt quite a few times and kept his yapper shut so I kept him around. Really torn on this and Rise of Ronin since they both release the same day

Meh. Kinda had my fill of it polished up or not. The paper mario games kinda lost their appeal to me after that one

He has good tastes in games but is much more skilled than I am. He is humble about it though.
I appreciate it. I don't think it's skill tbh I'm just persistent lol I like trial and error too so that makes From Soft games appealing to me

It is. I've confirmed it in game. As long you don't get attacked where it's 'broken' it can be re used
