This is my exact journey, but I bailed at around the 4 hour mark. I just couldn't take another screen of high school life text, it was killing my metaphorical soul! so you are saying I just need to suffer for a bit and all will be revealed?
Persona 5: It gets better!
Exact same for me. I've tried to like those games but I check out after multiple attempts fail at caring about anything to do with high school or the related scenarios about high school problems

He is odd about games. I never seen anything like it.
I get like that sometimes but usually when I know I don't like something that's it. But games are weird. I can turn my nose up at onethen months later in a drought or whatever I'll give it a try and every now and then be pleasantly surprised

The game is fanfuckingtastic
Wait.. now you're interested? Lol
The back and forth is hilarious. Keep it up! This way when you play Rebirth we can all be entertained by the Jekyll and Hyde thing- 1

Uh, is this real?
Gotta be a demo version. If that's the final product then yikes

Comes off as a poor man’s Skyrim
Dragons Dogshit lol
Did you play the first one? Not much about that game is trying to be Skyrim. And if it was there's no comparison how much better combat was

This has ass written all over it
How's that? The last one was great. Lots of innovation and it inspired several great games after it

Yea im all for a good story but if you give a game over 6 hours and the story is going nowhere its time to bail.
That's probably why I push through the difficulty of From Soft games and soulslikes. They let you actually play the game difficulty and all and let you find as much of the story as you want at your own pace and don't force cutscenes every 4 steps like *cough* FF7 Rebirth. But I know that was a really pivotal part of the story.
And HOLY CARP have I grown to hate sections of games where you have to slowly crawl to an objective or inexplicably slow walk because REASONS. NOT for me anymore

Be prepared for hours of cutscenes and minimal gameplay 6 hours in. Maybe it picks up from there but after 6 hours I had enough I think.
I definitely DON'T like not using my controller considering all it takes for me just to turn on a console and sit down to 'play' for a few. So it'll be game PASS for me. You can blame Kojima for that

So is Yakuza Like a Dragon. If you got GamePass try it. It’s exactly the same game formula.

I think I really prefer real-time combat. Infinite Wealth is not grabbing me the way I wanted it too. I'm not giving up on it, though.
Infinite Wealth is turn based?

Ok that seems a bit better.
Is Cloud gay?
I don't think so. Youll see what I mean unless they changed it for Rebirth

Takes roughly 40 hours. I best get at it now!
I beat it in around 25 tbh. Didn't miss that much either. I guess because I played through the original several times I breezed through everything

As others said, it's a direct continuation of the first part. The demo is just covering a part that's also in the original FF7 where Cloud is retelling extremely important events of the past that will make you better understand Sephiroth -- the villain of the story. And the remake is apparently going to spend more time building up Sephiroth than the OG did.
Since you have three weeks, you should at a minimum watch the cutscenes from part one or you're going to be very lost.
FWIW, the original game is highly suggestive that Cloud gets some action later in the game. And there is a reason he's kind of out of sorts right now. Not sure how they're going to handle that in the remake, but it might not be until part 3.
But Cloud does 'pleasure' a man in one part of the game lol

Wow. They absolutely nailed the feel and atmosphere of the original in Nibleheim. The music took me allllll the way back to my 2 bedroom apartment in 1997. But dadgum do graphics take a hit on performance mode. It's like pc snob vasaline smear all over again. BUT on the positive Sephiroth comes across like he did on the PSX. And the story's high spots.. Well they're pretty high. Square NAILED this.. So far.. Just have to see how the final product is

Like, I honestly think Xbox never recovered after getting their butts kicked by Sony back at E3 in 2013. lol
I've actually thought that myself. Playing catch up that long can't be good for them financially or morale wise as a company
-
FFs are what got me into RPGs which is now my favorite genre so I have to give them all a chance on principle. Downloaded the demo so I'll be curious to see how they handled where I think this game will go story wise

People are responding to you in somewhat vague terms I guess but I’m trying to be clear haha.
They said it is a trilogy. There’s 1 more game after this new one.
I know and I appreciate it, but with Squeenix's history they might try and milk that cow until flour comes out. Especially if Rebirth does well. But maybe they're already committed to 3 and I'm being dramatic. Yep, that's probably it

It’s absolutely not, they’ve said very specifically where it ends if you care to look it up.
(also this implies the first game was the first half of the game and it also was not).
No, the first one ended pretty early on. I don't even think it made it to the world map which is where I guess this one starts. But I could see them pushing this to 2 more installments
-
This is the entire second half of the game right?

This is the one thing you shouldn't be worried about. The writing in this and their take on the DCU is fresh and original... again I;m suprised they were allowed to do a lot of the shit in this game they are doing. If yoy're a DCU fan or a fan of the Arkhamverse you won't be dissappointed. The weakest aspect of the game to me is all of the Live service shit. The story and world is as good as anything Rocksteady has done in the past.
Well that's definitely reassuring. But I'm still gonna wait for a sale or gamepass etc
-
Waiting on the fo-mofos to play this and have near instant buyers remorse. Hard to imagine Rocksteady shooting blanks in the DC Universe though. Maybe theyre burned out on that world

I got a feeling it will be. They basically been polishing this game for 10 years and while maybe their reach is exceeding their grasp they're trying to dethrone Elden Ring. Gotta tip my hat to the ambition there
