  1. Currently it's just my normal routine MTG Arena (Ikoria is amazing), Langrisser mobile (Record of Lodoss War crossover going on right now) and Arknights (Tower defense gothca goodness). Maybe I will get around to some Stellaris this weekend and check out the recent updates!

As for art direction... I'm not really seeing why that's a specific selling point for a new console when, from what we know, the current gen versions may very well preserve the look.   At a different resolution/framerate/aliasing.

I was just saying that I don't need something going for photo-realism to sell me on a next gen console give me good art direction + good framerate and I'm n.

That’s surprising since most of these games weren’t confirmed for this year, or even launch window.

For those that are, we still have no clue how current gen versions will compare.  What extra effort is being put in to take advantage of the new hardware?

I would assume (I know) that most of the new IP's are targeting launch window (generally the time people launch new IP's) and between the specs, the full BC and all the companies MS has been gobbling up I was already on the tipping point! I can probably safely wait until PSVR2 comes out before I get a PS5 (I actually got my PSVR before my PS4 because I pre-ordered it and a PS4 Pro at the same time!) unless it launches with Horizon Zero Dawn 2 and I'm in a really good place financially at the time. Also I'm generally not a graphics whore and really like unique art direction more than anything else.

Well at least they acknowlege the poor messaging.

I rewatched it while being less distracted, and knowing it was just a tease of games being worked on coming to Series X, I felt it was actually decent.  Quite a few games I think looked fairly interesting.

I agree that a lot of the games look interesting and I plan to get the system at launch now... However I think there needed to be something first party in there with amazing graphics. Not necessarily a big new title but maybe upgraded Forza or Gears of War.

  5. Hate to DP here but the new update dropping in a few minutes has a 14 day XP boost for new players to catch up (which is fantastic since the slog from 35 to 50 is rough if you haven't figured out how to min/max the game)... AND a crossover even with Record of Lodoss War! Again I really want to recommend this game to anyone who enjoys SRPG's I believe there is even a good PC version of it if you don't like playing on mobile. The main campaign is a full fledged SRPG that you can clear with just the stuff you get for free. The game is also very generous about giving you summoning tickets and they main way they have monitized the game is epically expensive limited time cosmetic only skins.

Images & Words is considered top tier Dream Theater, but for me personally it's probably bottom 3 or 4. I still enjoy it though.

I think most people just put "Pull Me Under" on such a high platform they let it prop up the album but it's also in my bottom 3 (with The Astonishing at the bottom </3).

Star Citizen would count if you couldn’t kick start and play it, but it would definitely count otherwise. What’s Agent? You’re not the first to mention it

Eh, I'm still skeptical of the single player campaign ever releasing so I would count it. Is it too early to add the next Batman game from Rocksteady?

The drawback of having symmetrical sticks is more than made up for by the benefit of having a good d-pad.

I used to have a major problem with the Dualshock until I gave in and became a multi-console owner now I appreciate it! I play FPS games on the Xbox and most everything else on the Playstation especially all of the 2D games I love.

So like 2D indie games that people spend maybe 3% of their time playing?

    Priorities.

I spend maybe 3% of my time playing 3D games that require the analog stick on the Playstation.

I never use the d-pad. It’s time to get rid of the antiquated input method once and for all. Unfortunately gaming companies lack the courage

I bet you are an iPhone user

Just wanted to say thanks again for all of your suggestions. I think this will get me going for a while. At the moment I've got three things going... about 1/2 through my replay of God of War. Just picked up Guacamelee, and will probably blow through Half Life Alyx  in the next day or so (it's so good).

Next I'm gonna look at RE7 and remake of RE2 (any recommended order?), then the Gravity Rush games.

Wishlisted for tracking based on your suggestions:

    Sekiro

    Vanquish

Wolcen (I've been watching this for a while... heard it's buggy so I'll snag it when it's all patched up).

Ashen (Epic spring sale starts next week).

@Nokt Great list... I've played & finished a lot of those... but will look into those that I haven't.

@DPCyric - CCG is a genre I've tried but just can't get into. Same with 4x games (which is a genre I really want to like, but just never seem to have fun with).

Also... I completely misspoke about Outer Wilds. Misread that for  Outer Worlds. I very much liked Outer Wilds.

If you really want to like 4x games give my recommendations a go. I usually don't like them as well but the added RPG elements in Endless Legend makes it a lot more interesting. Stellaris has Grand Strategy elements and it really avoids that feeling of making the wrong move. As for CCG's I was going to recommend Hex: Shards of Fate for it's fun F2P single player campaign and Faeria for it's added boardgame elements.

Edit: I will recommend Metal Gear Rising Revengence again as someone who is also not a big fan of Metal Gear and Emo I think you will find it to be an epic hoot 😅
