I found the combat annoying for bosses and challenges so I turned down the difficulty. I don't think I found all the hats, I suspect some might be tied to a higher difficulty or something like that. There's more focus on Kena at the end on the way to the mountain shrine. Before that, she'll helping the spirits so the focus is on them.

The musical episode was kind of meh until the Klingons showed up.

Glad it's working. When eventually there is a new BIOS, check the notes to see if it says what they fixed from the previous version.
-
What if even with the support the GPU put some stress on the slot or that area of the motherboard but didn't completely break it? That's why I suggested trying the other GPU slot. You could also take a close look at capacitors on the motherboard to see if any look abnormal.
Just to be clear, when booting from the Windows USB drive, you can't even get to the first menu?
A Linux Live USB might be worth a try, making sure to use the verbose start up that lists what it's doing in the hopes that you'll see where it gets stuck.
-
You can make a bootable USB drive for memtest86, it should be more lightweight than a Linux Live USB so it should be the simplest test of can something other than the BIOS successfully run.
-
Try something simple like memtest86 just to see if it can boot and run for a while. If you can, try onboard video or a secondary GPU slot. You could also watch the bios hardware monitor for an extended period to see if anything weird happens with temperatures or voltage.

I liked DQXI. I'd be interested in trying DQX if it ever got a port. The DS game was mildly interesting, the one where you're an angel or whatever using a custom avatar.
Other than that, I find it really hard to enjoy the games, at least the older ones. They always feel like Final Fantasy without any of the ambition. And I fucking hate that awful theme song they use for every trailer/intro. It just grates on me how generic and uninteresting it is. But I suppose that's what the fans demand.
Apparently there is a fan translation of X but an official offline port would be nice. I put over 800 hours into DQIX. For almost a year I'd switch my router from WPA to WEP temporarily each morning to check the online store and would play dungeons at lunch and before bed and I didn't even 100% it. VI and XI were my favorites and while I liked every game, they tend to be a bit of a slow and I've only replayed the first one.

I've hated kobolds ever since I made the mistake of making my first main character in Baldur's Gate (base game only) a Cleric/Mage. The character was fragile but the problem with the kobolds was that they gave something pathetic like 7 exp so I couldn't level up to make up for my character's pathetic HP (and since I put my points in INT and WIS my constitution sucked so I only got a couple HP more on finally leveling up). A few years later when I played Tales of the Sword Coast, I used cheats to get stat boosting tomes to make all stats 25 and so I could reuse my character but I've avoided multiclass ever since and still hate kobolds.

I prefer more streamlined games where the story progresses steadily but when I play games with tons of sides stuff to do I end up doing it. In Final Fantasy XV, Steam says I've played over 48 hours but I'm only on chapter 3.

I think I might end up having more time played post game in DQ XI because you have so much to do.
The post game might as well be another game but at least the story continues and it affects the characters rather than just being a bunch of chores. If I remember right, you ending up having to make 3 passes through the world between the initial story and post game. My Steam playtime was 241.4 hours, I think the in game time was more like 225 hours though with that many hours there was probably a fair bit of meal and bathroom break time while the game was still running. If a game is going to have a ton of post game content, DQ XI's way of doing it is the way to go but it's still a bit weird since if you were to stop playing after the initial ending you'd be missing half the game.

A little late as the event is on the 19th of July but did my first 10K training run. Either my watch or their course is off, because following the route we’re running (two laps for the event) o wasn’t even half way back when I’d hit 5K. Based on my old Fitbit Charge 2, the distance is closer to 6.5km…
Suffice to say, after being up from about 4.15am and being out all day, it wasn’t the easiest run. I also decided to go out with no headphones just in case they’re not allowed on the day and it was also boring as fuck. I’ll definitely be sneaking them on for the run and pretend to not hear any Marshall’s.
Either way, circuits tomorrow and another 5km on Friday - then I reckon maybe 2 more of that and I’ll start to extend with some interval training. I know I can already run 6 miles, but it would be nice to do it well and target say 55 minutes and find it easy.
I do loops between 2 bridges on a paved path (the whole route is on Google maps) along a canal. Last summer 3 laps was less than 10k but this summer 4 laps is around 14k so the same distance was less than 3.3k last year but about 3.5k this year. Also, Google thinks I run across the water multiple times rather than using the bridges and occasionally go way off course.

Played a bit of Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and then started Final Fantasy XV.

Finished Phoenotopia: Awakening. I started on normal difficulty since while things like the stamina system were annoying it still seemed manageable but eventually I got fed up and activated a bunch of things to make the game easier. There were a few optional things left to do but I can't be bothered.

Any suggestions for this fight? It's the last thing I have to finish.
You either need to beat him in 1 round so that your party doesn't get wiped by Immaculate End out or use auto-revive items so that you can survive the attack and have longer to beat him. I went with the single round strategy. You'll need to practice to learn how to avoid his attacks. Once you're good at that the next hard part is making sure you can prepare properly for the stagger and then execute the right sequence of attacks to take him out before the stagger ends. If you fail to take him out before the stagger ends you might be ok like I was, if he doesn't have much HP left and you're able to spam magic to finish him off before he wipes you out. I think I finished him with the last of my MP.
I'm pretty sure this is what I used:

I keep forgetting that if something big is shown in the end of episode preview for the next episode, it will be at least 1 episode more before what's hinted at actually happens. Hopefully the next episode is good.
Also it's really weird how last summer Luffy and Kaido were fighting and then I saw news from the manga that Luffy beat Kaido but that still hasn't happened yet in the show.
