[Netflix (until Nov 30)]
Fences: 8/10
Around some ways into this movie I thought to myself, "this feels a lot like a play," and lo and behold when the credits roll it says it was based on a play. So in that regard I think it is successful. The movie is basically about Denzel Washington as Troy Maxson set in 1950s Pittsburgh. He's kind of a jaded old man through trials and tribulations of his life and for better or worse spreads his jadedness to those around him. It's an interesting cast of characters, mostly related to Troy in some way. Most of the movie is just Denzel shooting the breeze about the good times and bad times and never taking shit from anyone. Personally I've been around conversations like these and I find them fascinating so I could listen to Denzel go on and on about telling the devil to F off or walking 200 miles to Alabama. Not much to say other than that really. It's based on a play, it's like a play, really all you have to do is sit there and appreciate the performances, which are quite good.
As a side head scratcher why was Viola Davis considered a supporting actress in this? She had as big of a role as Denzel. She won an Oscar because of it but just a strange designation.
Whats crazy is seeing James Earl Jones playing the same character as Denzel in the theater production..
watching clips of this film people always pass off the “why dont you like me scene” as being about a father giving his son a dose of reality completely ignoring the context of the overall story

Its crazy that these films follow the lineage from Godzilla ‘14
I cant decide if its lazy or smart that the new villain is a Kong variant.. King Louie if you will
smart because the Monsterverse original monsters have all been pretty much misses so why risk it… focus on King again and let him earn the “King” moniker
The running scene at the end is all kinds of bad.. the monsters were already moving incredibly fast last film completely undoing the mass the earlier films had established… now the lack of cities and such just throws the sense of scale even further into the dump…
As always hoping for the best

curious to see how it stacks up vs the GTA V “realistic” visuals mods..
Since Midnight Club is seemingly dead I sure hope the vehicle customization from GTA Online finds its way to SP

I always assume that most channels with a big youtube audience have a healthy monetized system (Patreon usually) calmly and efficiently working at all times… guess its foolish to assume such things with everyone and everything having paywalls on additional content…

It would be interesting to see Rockstar add the more “deliberate” pacing of RDR2 into GTA..
I would hope they would ease up on the satire a bit more so it isnt as “obnoxiously” in your face but I guess thats part of the package..
those in game “tik toks” look interesting… I wonder if at some advanced level those clips you access will come from gamers in MP..
Its odd, GTA is not a series that is “important” to me like other franchises (specially since I skip the online MP), yet I have somehow beat GTA V story on each console as its become available (im part of the problem).
All I want is even more ways to interact with the sandbox, its the major thing that GTA always lags behind on despite all the technological advances.

I did the same w/ Peacock (1 year/$20) so I'll have access to all the PPV's from WWE over the next year.
WWE?
I signed up for a Peacock $20 buck deal.. didnt know that Wwe was part of the thing… watched Super Mario Bros film on it with no commercials except for the beginning..
Ads definitely show up for Brooklyn 99.. 45 to 60 second variety…
Its not bad, but i’ve definitely become an intolerant little shit after spending a few years commercial free with MLS, Hulu and Apple shows

I've been going through this with constant everyday pain, and I don't see it stopping. I'm afraid of it getting worse, and I don't know what to do. Physical therapy momentarily helps, but it doesn't last long. I haven't worked in 17 months, and people keep asking when I'm going back to work. I have a hard enough time doing simple stuff around the house and have no idea what I could do. Even shopping was too much, so now I get the pickup order. I don't drive, and my mom is 73, so she shouldn't be driving much longer.
sounds pretty much like me lol..
17 months without working cause I keep waiting for my body to ease up on the back pain… it doesnt and now seems to be spreading to lower extremities… some days even standing for more than 20 mins is a struggle.. it does mess with the mind…
your body telling you that its deteriorated to that of a 65 yr old and my unwillingness to give in as a losing fight lol..
Gotta accept some middle ground and take some basic office job at some point

well, all the right people seem to mourning him and highlighting him for being visionary.. Bush, Chinese media, and Putin..
Leading with “courageous” jewish survivor of the Nazi Holocaust is used to strongly underline to the idea that “I doubt any person or people who survived the Holocaust could ever be capable of evil and cruelty”

He says it because he feels that he is too big to fail… I wish everyone ganged up to teach him hes not

Id prefer Trump

Battlefield 3 Campaign..Been seeing a lot about COD campaigns.. so that obviously pushed me to want to play the great Medal of Honor 2010 campaign… since its not Backwards Compatible I went with Battlefield 3. Its solid so far, the “interrogation/flashback” setup is lame but the combat scenarios and sound design definitely hold up well enough.

Filoni in the hat always scrambles my little lizard brain into thinking its Robert Rodriguez.
The choice could go either way, at this point with “fandoms” always finding an agenda or ulterior flaw in everything it seems very few products no matter how good can be universally accepted.. specially anything that even smells Disney… heres hoping for the best

to start..do you have an easily marketable name. Fair, Jefferson, wright, hunter, justice or anything catchy like that? i’ve known folks gain local positions just on the “strength” of names

Its always looked so generic… like one of those off brand movies that used to be rip-offs of actual Disney movies..
Then some review site said “Disneys best animated film since Frozen”… first off Frozen is just songs and nothing else… also Moana, maybe even Encanto…

shame they cant be labeled as “extreme hate groups” that get detained and unmasked on sight… though im sure it would be awful awkward for police to arrest each other as well as church leaders

A classy lady..
She put in a lot of effort to bring attention to the need of services for mental health and emotional well being…. so of course Reagan defunded the Mental Health Act, so Alzheimers
77 years together is something to aspire to, but this probably accelerates President Carters deterioration as well.

between this and Godzilla Minus One being listed for a local showing it seems the days of generous Godzilla content continues..
between this, Loki S2, Mls playoffs, finally getting my turn at Mario Wonder and some of the movies dropping in for streaming it seems I got entertainment for a good while..

so has he accomplished something that McCarthy himself couldn't have done if MAGAt gaetz hadnt started a vote of no confidence against chancellor valorum?

Pandas are not to be trusted
Panda-la could attack at any moment

so we know Trump being president again is how this movie ends…
the question is how will it happen?
-Biden unexpectedly passes and Dems have nobody lined up
-blatantly obvious voting interference by the GOP steals the win and Dems arent allowed to cry “stolen” election
-Trump flat out wins, Aileen Cannon promoted to Supreme Court

I've heard of and played ALL of these games except for Shaolin Road. Loved me some Rastan and Rygar... and The Legend of Kage too.
the arcade Rygar is one of the original arcade archives games i bought long ago.. I remember the PS2 had a nice update to the series.. but with God of War on that console games like Rygar, Mark of Kri etc just got ignored

poor Pedro..
Fantastic 4 just doesnt work, stop insisting..
Fantastic 4 failing is as sure a hollywood tradition as is X-men franchises crashing and burning because they insist on retelling the vastly overrated Phoenix Saga

Rastan on SMS is like the first game I REALLY played
I really loved it as a kid, it was one of the first games I ever saw at a local store where the volume was always at max volume… going to the store to buy eggs with that soundtrack felt like you were on some crazy quest.. that poor Rygar cabinet always got drowned out

Godzilla Minus One.. 9/10
Was afraid all the hype was building me up for a letdown.. definitely wasnt the case. Maybe its my own PTSD and/or survivors guilt but everything in this movie felt more affecting in ways I hadnt experienced before. There was an unrelenting intensity to everything that was happening. As a fan I of course enjoyed it but it was quite affecting to my wife as well as she teared up a couple of times.
I watched this in an empty theater (5 other people), a damn shame since Im now curious to see if I could have felt the same tension from other movie goers.
I watched this on a more modest movie theater screen and it was intense.. Im officially jealous of those who saw it on IMAX and those who got the 4DX experience since its apparently one of the more solid applications of the format
Its not flawless (some effects shots are off and it does include a common movie trope), but its a great movie even beyond its own genre
