Playing the Wildlands DLC: Narco Road..

Its the ill advised “dudebro” Dlc that is centered on driving and flying, the things that the game does the worst…. but it was ultra cheap in the store and that damn 100% achievement completion beckons.. I am a gaming tool

The Creator 5/10-  Went expecting a chase where Washington protects a simulant kid and seeing some moral arguments about the good and bad of Ai… Instead its more about United States Imperialism and its complete intolerance and willingness to exterminate anything it deems an “other/not us”…. its fine but it means none of the Ai or simulants are really that, theyre more like stand ins for Iraqi or Vietnamese people..

  That in itself is fine (star wars was built on that), its just that the main story introduces characters whose story appears to be more interesting than the main plot. Plus the world itself has sooo many questions left unanswered that by themselves defy logic.

   It gets points for looking amazing though, the location shots are worth at least one viewing.

yeah, therein lies the trap.. they monopolize the HD space so their games get that “short session” engagement by making sure theres no room for anything else..

with 1TB available master chief collection, cod, halo infinite, and GTA just eat up the space… whats annoying is that they have the capacity to split the SP from MP portion of games but force the MP launchers on you..

I have played about 30 mins of GTA online but have to keep it downloaded to go visit uncle trevor in SP

I think “we want old zelda” is a bigger way of saying we want “themed puzzle dungeons” and “dungeon specific items”

If you shrank BOTW and eliminated the  overworld and just focused the games on the town, local race, and divine beast/temples youd essentially have any of the old 3D zeldas (minus the empty ocean of wind waker)

My main gripe with those games is that the combat system was too simple (bosses insultingly simple).. once you solved the temple puzzles you were set.. In a sense you “play” those games in the same way you watch a good movie in that it always plays out the same way.

The combat and openness of BOTW is what set those games apart, it had a challenge curb you had to crest over. Hell give me Twilight Princess and OOT with the combat of BOTW/TOTK and call it a day

On Series X… always about 30-40GB left

I “love” how certain games monopolize HD space.

My “wants”

Employ the same general design of the last 2 games. Just a couple of tweaks:

-add “proper” dungeons

-set the game “During” the apocalypse. Zelda and “Souls” games are always after the tragedy has happened.. make it so im present as the evil overwhelms the land.. let me fight the unwinnable battle so I can see what is lost. 

- Have “major” events really reshape the map.. the overworld evolving as I take action is a great indicator that my success and failures are making a difference. The Arkham games excelled at this.

Warriors is out next Tuesday in 4K

 

Criterion got a good chunk of the Godzilla films and did a blu-ray collection release. Thankfully they’re getting better at releasing older releases on 4k disc.

plus it seems its both versions so the unnecessary 2005 cut wont be the only version available..

Also, quick update after having hooked up my Panasonic UB820 - I HAVE BEEN MISSING OUT! The video & audio is so significantly improved thus far, plus the features & settings within to go along all that I have w/ my LGB6 & Denon X1300 (yes I know, need to upgrade them), I truly don't believe I have had better viewing experiences with what I've popped in so far. I really feel I got away with a steal having paid only $350 for this. The main downside for the time being until I can upgrade my receiver & TV, is that I only have one eARC input for the TV in which the HDMI is already plugged into that from my 4K eARC out of my receiver, so in turn I have to pass the audio from the player, to the receiver, to the TV instead of two separate dedicated HDMI's. It'll do for now, but alas the curse of having such a hobby, is that it is never actually "COMPLETE".
