Talk to the pharmacist and they can check if there are any manufacturer coupons/discounts. You should also look into whether or not you qualify for Medicaid (assuming you don’t have COBRA coverage from your last job).

Ukrainian Crews Set A Complex Missile Trap For Russia’s Best Radar Plane

Exactly how the Ukrainians shot down the four-engine A-50 is unclear, but analyst Tom Cooper has a theory. Ukrainian missile crews lured the Russian crew into a trap. The original blog post from Tom Cooper:
Ukraine War, 16 January 2024: Scratch one A-50
XXTOMCOOPERXX.SUBSTACK.COM
Hello everybody! So much is going on the last two days - in Ukraine and in the Middle East - that I can’t even decide what way to look as first and what to comment about. Even less so can I summarise all of this in form of ‘useful’ articles - at once. Sure, I’ll try, but…QuoteIf there’s any comfort for the Russians, it might be that the Ukrainian air force does not have a limitless supply of PAC-2 missiles. Unless and until pro-Russia Republicans in the U.S. Congress approve the $61 billion in fresh aid to Ukraine that U.S. president Joe Biden has proposed, the Ukrainians may need to begin rationing their missiles—and taking fewer chances on ambitious missile traps.

Yeah, this was really good. I feel like more people need to see this and Inherent Vice, two PTA films people frequently overlook.
As a matter of fact I also watched Inherent Vice the other week, right after finishing the book...I wasn't as big on it, but I think that's because it cut too many of my favorite scenes/lines from the novel (though it was an admirable - and mostly good! - adaptation).

Licorice Pizza - 10/10. One of PTA's best IMO - incredibly tender (and funny) film.

Wade hijacking a thread and making it about food is definitely the kind of energy we need to see in 2024.

Bubbly is my preferred brand - Cherry, Blackberry, and the caffeinated Peach flavors are all great. Polar Black Cherry is pretty good too. Liquid Death lime is OK.

God I wish @Tao 2.0 was around to comment on this one!

Man I have a high tolerance for geeky shit, but Dune is just over the top...Duncan Idaho, Swordmaster for House Atreides and Duke Leto, who along with his son must fight off the Baron and protect the spice. It's like a random jumble of titles and tropes, then you throw in normal names like 'Paul' to run alongside shit like 'Gurney' and it becomes an even bigger mess.

I’ve now reached the conclusion that science-fiction is the dumbest possible genre. My god.On 4/14/2020 at 1:26 PM, Chris- said:
Here’s the thing: I love ridiculous, dumb things, so in that sense I can totally get behind all of this. But I feel like Dune (and sci-fi in general) is often held up as some kind of intellectual exercise, and that’s a really hard sell when the author in question leaned back and said, “What if Islam and Buddhism had a baby?”On 9/12/2020 at 2:51 PM, Chris- said:So what if a sword is thrown (and is thus a projectile), will it penetrate the shield? Why not design guns that shoot beneath the shields' protection threshold? Moreover they have the technology to create shields that block lasers, but their technology is insufficient to create shields that block blades? What a stupid book/movie!

I'm here to eat some crow - after reading the first book and seeing the film, this shit rules.

I'm not watching this garbage so if one of you could explain the mental gymnastics he used to joke about punching down - while actually punching down - I'm all ears.

I didn't work here at the time but last year the partners funded the bonus pool at 150% even though the target operating margin was off by a percentage point (the pool is funded at 75%, 100%, etc. based on operating margin). That was one of the first signs I had that agency leadership was pretty good. The same situation happened again this year but they took a different approach (funded at 100%, then they'll fund the extra 50% if we hit the margin after the books are closed).

I got a copy of Dune for Christmas and started it against my better judgment, and wouldn’t you know I really like it so far? I still maintain that it has some ridiculously unnecessary terminology (‘Orange Catholic Bible’ will always and forever be a deeply unserious thing to name something of significance), but the writing is really good and I’m very invested in the characters. I’m only around 120 pages in but I can’t wait to see where things go from here.

Yeah I did an omakase, which was eleven courses plus desert. It was fun, it's definitely an experience - the pace of the dishes keeps the conversation moving. I can't remember how long it took.

My gifts were all massive hits, it ruled. Just banger after banger. I also made out like a bandit - got a Liverpool jersey I've really wanted, plus a whole mess of great books and other miscellaneous nice stuff.
