"Build your own goddamned client/customer list. Asshole."
Oh boy - now that one is a tougher sell, even for me
Non-competes are relatively low-hanging fruit compared to that!
Most non-solicitations cover employees too though, which is my real issue. Protecting client/customer portfolios is fine.

Great, now do non-solicitation clauses next!

I've never played even a second of the games... watched the first episode and I dunno if I am in love with this show as much as everyone else.
I feel like it's trying to be edgier and hipper than it actually is. The look is great, but the tone feels off somehow. I can't really put my finger on what I didn't love about it, but it just didn't wow me.
I will keep watching though. Episode one gets a 3/5 from me.
The games are very campy and deadpan, so I can see how the series would be seen as a try hard without that context. I'm only three episodes in but so far they did a very good job capturing the tone of the games.

Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga dance in new 'Joker: Folie à Deux' poster
EW.COM
Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn dances with Joaquin Phoenix in a haunting new poster for 'Joker: Folie à Deux' ahead of the new trailer release date.I'm not a prude about smoking but goddamn this poster makes me mad. Why does he need a cig in his hand? Why does the Joker even need to smoke? It adds absolutely nothing in terms of characterization, and it doesn't make him look any cooler. I'm 99% sure it's only to give Joaquin a way to smoke on set.

Just face saving bs lol
There is something to be gained from simply putting everyone else on edge, even if you don't intend to follow through. It can undermine the opposition's confidence in their own assessments.

All six books are excellent (the ones written by Frank Herbert). If you liked the first two books, I think they only get better (but more dense/esoteric). Yes, read it. Why, you got better books waiting in the wings?
Yes, many!

So can you nerds finally tell me if Children of Dune is worth reading? I liked Messiah - in some sense maybe even more than the original (Scytale and Hayt rule). But I don't want to read it if it sucks.

Thanks for the feedback, everybody. It was quite helpful.
And here is an interesting news article for absolutely no reason at all 👀:

Havana Syndrome mystery continues as a lead military investigator says bar for proof was set impossibly high
WWW.CBSNEWS.COM
Efforts continue to investigate brain injuries suffered by U.S. officials. This is the fourth 60 Minutes Havana Syndrome report and, for the first time, there's evidence of who might be responsible.Normally I would be skeptical of this angle but Christo Grozev isn't a hack.

Beshear maybe, Newsom has a bunch of skeletons in his closet from the lockdown era and the mantle of California doesn’t appeal to swing voters in Middle America the way it did in the age of Reagan.
The problem is timing—Biden would have had to step down, and then giving Harris the shaft would probably tank the black vote.
Win or lose, we need some new blood after the 2024 elections, though. Provided Trump doesn’t manage to rig all the elections after that, should he get back into office.
Shapiro, Whitmer, and Pritzker will all be contenders in 2028.

Honestly I think the case getting pushed past Election Day only helps Biden, so I'm not too down on the potential of that coming to pass.
