I finished this a couple weeks ago and the ending was so mediocre I forgot to comment about it.

    Things I didn’t like.

    • Ruth died.
    • No consequences for Wendy.
    • Character building felt wasted
    • Marty is running a drug cartel himself for a while. Did anyone else find this absurd and almost a little cringy considering the tone of the rest of the show?
    • Nothing happened! At least in the Sopranos you could reason out the end. There was no end and that’s what the problem is.  This is a story in a tv show and they tried to make it a documentary with the ending. What a shame. We already know white powerful families get away with a lot of shit. It’s on the news everyday. This wasn’t a deep ending where I walked away contemplating a deep philosophical issue like they wanted. I forgot about it the next day.

It’s still a great show, and this isn’t a game of thrones ending, but mediocre at best.

I agree with all that. Another thing I didn't like...

    Spoiler

Was having the PI come back, just so we can see one of the more innocent character's on the show, commit cold-blooded murder. I liked that he tried to redeem himself one last time, but that was dark as shit. If anything, I might've ended with him looking over news articles about the death of Navarro and Ruth. Leaving things a little more ambiguous, but with a slight glimmer of hope.

What they did with her dad made me uncomfortable, as well, but at least his demons had been alluded too for awhile.

Aside from Ruth dying, I'm not as angry as I was initially.

As my grandma used to say... I'm not upset. Just disappointed.

  2. Late to the party, but that finale was a pile of shit. Holy fuck. I'm annoyed.

    Spoiler

No character redemption. No glimmer of hope. No major character arcs that went anywhere besides completely bonkers. Breaking Bad is something I can rewatch because things more or less ended how they should've. Not this one, though.

But, overall, it was a good show.

  3. During the pandemic, I started collecting the Mario Lego sets. I've been going at it pretty hard. Going to ebay or Amazon to make sure I get the discontinued sets, bonus gift packs and every character from the character packs. ('Mystery' bags are some BS). They've been releasing new waves of the lego sets, a couple of times a year. The Peach sets drop August 1st, but I'm probably going to have to back off it. It has been awfully expensive hobby and I'll need to put some money into the house we're fixing to move to.

It's been fun, though, even if the boxes do just sit at the top of my closet.

  4. I don't exercise anymore, but when I used to run, I always did it at night. 9, 10 or 11. Twisted my ankle several times, because my street was dark as shit, but I didn't have jackasses yelling things from their cars, when they passed me, and it was usually cooler.

  5. Do the police have an arrangement with the cartels to leave the tourist hot spots alone and, in return, they can go fucking nuts everywhere else?

A story popped on my google feed about 7 bodies dropped along some popular tourist road, with cartel warnings written on them with markers. And in related stories, we had '7 bodies hung from a bridge' and 'Mass grave contains remains from 41 different bodies'. I also saw a picture of a SUV that literally had the cartels name on it with a decal.

I'm sure there are beautiful areas there, but I couldn't vacation someplace that has a road nicknamed 'highway of death'. Sounds like a terrifying place.

  6. I feel like Rob Zombie thinks he is a lot more clever than he actually is. It's almost like he wants to be Tarantino, but with horror movies and he just doesn't have the chops for it. The horror pornographer in me enjoys House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects, but what does shit like 'I'm the one that brings the Christmas candy' even mean? I liked his first Halloween movie, but all I can remember is 'Nights in White Satin' playing throughout the entire second one.

I'm curious to see how he handles comedy, but this teaser just looked silly to me, but I never really watched The Munsters.
