I'll be picking it up tomorrow, my brother and bro in law and nephews have Quests so hopefully we get some gaming time.
Is it 4 player squads, or 3?

So are the climbing and hang gliding mechanics actually useful or do they just make you a climbing duck?
Hang gliding helps you move around the map faster (no sprint). Climbing can make every situation unique. Think about firefights around corners. Now you can climb up and have some advantage. If you like online shooters this is the game for VR.

So far this game has been a blast! Let me know if you want to team up!

Game releases in about an hour!

So I just moved around some while playing Until You Fall and that solved my problems I played a few runs then sat down for some Rez, checked out Echo Arena and the demo for TRIPP (which I rather enjoyed). Took my battery down from 100% to 35% I need the elite battery strap!
I would like more info on upcoming games it seems hard to find coverage even in the reddits. Is there any good VR news site?
I've talked to Jeff Minter's partner and he is currently porting Moose Life to the Quest then after that Polybius!!! I really hope at some point Llamasoft gives us a proper VR music visualizer.
I typically keep up with VR news from Youtube. I'll list a few channels that are good with weekly updates.

I finally set up my Quest 2, and I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed. Games I have purchased for my regular Oculus Rift, that also have a Quest version, aren't automatically given to you. You need to rebuy the same damn game again for Quest. Beat Saber specifically at least. I guess they have a Cross Buy mode which some games support, but how the hell is my Oculus account not just synced and games that support both aren't automatically carried over.
Sours me on the entire Oculus ecosystem a lot more than the Facebook account shit.
I've been warning people! You can still play those games via Virtual Desktop off of your PC.

You can increase the resolution and image quality though SideQuest settings! I did this with my Quest 1 and made everything run like poo!

Here's my worry and the one I'm dealing with right now. I had a Facebook account and I'm worried that trying to create a new one will just reactivate my old one. I guess I can create a burner email address for it, but that sounds awful when it comes to do stuff like reset passwords or whatever.
It might be my best bet because the only other VR headset that night be good and not pushing a grand is the upcoming HP Reverb G2.
If also really rather not give Facebook any of my money, so...I guess I'll wait to see what reviews for the Reverb G2 look like.
Burner accounts will get your accounts banned, it's against FB's TOS. The HP Reverb will be WELL worth it and it's only a couple hundred more.

So up until yesterday I have played VR sitting down and thought I had strong VR legs... I was wrong playing standing up is only working for about the length of the Superhot VR demo. I need to start playing standing up some more Superhot seems like a good game to start with (felt a little easier than Until You Fall standing did). I'm honestly surprised it was such a big difference because I was still standing in one spot.
I used Recroom to become accustom to the VR feel. I have noticed I stand differently in VR then normally. I will typically have my right foot extended out a bit with my left a little back. I feel this helps keep my balance for those moments where you get off balanced. You could also practice drunk! Be carful though!

If Facebook regulations are a problem (which they are, but who's going to do anything about it) dont go with their system. Simple. For $200 more you can get a better headset with NO strings attached.

If there is a multi platform VR game, and you have a highly capable gaming rig, would it be better to by the game on steam and use VD or oculus store?
I try to buy Steam first, UNLESS its cross buy with the PC/rift version, OR its a game I would like to take on the go to show family where I cant use a pc. This is the way.

I just got this for my son, but it’s a Christmas present. How does the Facebook integration work? Does he have to create a Facebook account to use it? This is the first VR thingy I’ve ever bought.
A facebook account is required. Not sure about the process.

I get that they wanted to keep the base price low, but paying $50 for a replacement head strap feels shitty to me. They obviously knew that people weren’t going to like the base strap, but instead of improving that one they make this extra thing on the side.
To be fair the frankenquest mod for the original quest was $150 (included speakers), so $50 isnt really a huge deal when it comes to these things. My cheaply put together "frankenquest" was probably $50 total in cost lol.

I'd really love a wireless headset for Beat Saber alone, but until the link cable works more or less perfectly I can't justify ditching the Rift S
WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU WANT THE LINK CABLE!!
Virtual Desktop is $25 and works nearly flawlessly. WITHOUT THE DUMB CABLE.

Yeah, Superhot is on my list. I've played the regular PC version, so I can imagine how awesome it is in VR.
Vader Immortal is a good pick up as well.

I was hoping that I wouldn't need any of the add-ons, but I think I might have to get the "elite" head strap and the fit pack. I spent a long time last night trying and failing to get it to fit comfortably without any reality spilling in.

We're just a couple of studs that want a virtual reality experience... eventually.
LOL, VrChat and the haptic suit gets pretty damn close. No undies yet, but we can still feel eachother.

I think we'll shoot for an official time tomorrow. Feel free to add me on Steam (Stickey) Oculus (Stickeys). Probably going to boot up some Pavlov, but wouldn't mind playing/exploring anything else.

Is this one of those 'better buy it now or you'll never get to' items?
I hope not lol

Lol, thats VRchat. We can hang out there too, though its mostly avatar stuff. Not any mini games to play (that I know of at least).

WTF is RecRoom?
I just play Beat Saber and Robo Recall...
It's pretty much like Chucky Cheese, all the fun games with all the annoying children!

Hello everyone! Since everyone got a new VR headset or have one on the way I figured why not setup a meet up thread. I kinda want to see if we can get a few together TONIGHT for some hot RecRoom action. Let me know if you're IN and I'll update the title with official times.
