Trumpism doesn't work without Trump. If Trump isn't on the ballot, Republicans don't care. It's not like the GOP has an actual policy platform or anything.
Also, "the last election was rigged and nothing has changed but vote in the next election anyway" is maybe not a great message for turnout

I am dumb but why is Trump in the running?
I think they're just using Trump's numbers as a baseline since there were other candidates in the Senate race in November so it's messier to use those to compare.

But then we get Senate Majority Leader Chuck the Schmuck.
If they pull this off, that's a tomorrow problem. Mitch will still be fuckin' miserable and I can still enjoy it.

Just gimme this one thing, universe. Just let me see Mitch's dumb face when he has to give up the senate gavel. It can be all Hell World after that.

I honestly didn't think that Trump actually believed his own bullshit comparing rally sizes, but the fact that he's bringing it up on what was supposed to be a private phone call suggests otherwise. Wild.
He also apparently actually believes that 139% of Detroit voted.
QuoteTrump: OK, thank you very much. Hello Brad and Ryan and everybody. We appreciate the time and the call. So we've spent a lot of time on this and if we could just go over some of the numbers, I think it's pretty clear that we won. We won very substantially in Georgia. You even see it by rally size, frankly. We'd be getting 25-30,000 people a rally and the competition would get less than 100 people. And it never made sense. But we have a number of things. We have at least 2 or 3 — anywhere from 250-300,000 ballots were dropped mysteriously into the rolls. Much of that had to do with Fulton County, which hasn't been checked. We think that if you check the signatures — a real check of the signatures going back in Fulton County you'll find at least a couple of hundred thousand of forged signatures of people who have been forged. And we are quite sure that's going to happen.Read the full transcript of Trump's audio call with Georgia secretary of state
WWW.CNN.COMCNN has obtained the full January 2 audio call between President Donald Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. Trump is joined on the call by White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and several lawyers. -

Your daily reminder that the electoral college is the dumbest shit ever.
It's an obvious ticking time bomb at this point and obviously needs to be done away with to preserve American democracy, except that there's no conceivable way for that happen. Shit sucks real bad!

the city that never sleeps everyone
The thing that really gets me is that the night "shutdown" that they're doing to disinfect the trains is not actually a shutdown because the subway was built with the assumption that it would always run 24/7, and there isn't enough space to store all the trains somewhere, so they're just keeping empty trains running. And also, if you're a cop you can still use them.

I don't know how you can look at florida in 2000 and ohio in 2004 and both sides this shit. SM should know better but then again he reads right wing trash media
The same way every GOP chud was like "BuT wHaT aBoUt RoBeRt BoRk?!" when they stole a Supreme Court seat

So, uh, I'm not a fancy big city lawyer, but that phone call seems like it's very straightforwardly a crime.

I'm fully expecting Trump to still be physically in the White House at noon on the 20th, and any Republican who gets asked responding with something like, "Well, you know, noon is really more of a guideline than a hard and fast rule"
-
Oh yeah, you don't need to feel bad about saying that at all. How many times have you seen something to the effect of, "Why are people so afraid of a virus with a 99% survivability rate?!" from a sitting Republican official? If they're gonna throw that out, then the flip side is that nobody has to feel bad when a few sitting Republicans find themselves in the 1%.

I kinda doubt there's more than a minuscule amount of outright fraud being committed. I do think that the intentional slowdown of the post office--that was very obviously concentrated in metro areas in swing states--led to a non-trivial amount of ballots not being counted, and any discussion of that at all has just utterly vanished since election day. That's the real power of the Steve Bannon "flood the zone with shit" media strategy. Even though Trump ultimately is not going to be re-installed as president on the 20th, there's no room to discuss any of the actual problems with the election because we've spent the past month and a half talking about Dominion being run by Hugo Chavez or whatever.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the majority of Republicans end of signing on to this now that they're framing this as "just trying to get the facts"

I'm guessing because it's a holiday, they have more of a weekend lineup on the air, yeah? I mean, if there's one thing where Trump is actually going to know what he's talking about, it's this
